Peter King Postcard: Eagles Training Camp

IMHO, I think the Birds are going to be hard to pick. I think it is easy to put them at the bottom, but McNugget is healthy, their Oline is still good, their defense is still good and history shows they will bounce back.

That said, someone else has to take the bottom slot. It would be nice if was the pukes, but have to wait and see. Every team has question marks that could disrupt their season.

I actually don't know who is going to finish at the bottom. It could easily be the skins just as it easily could be the Birds.

Please stop being sensical and rational. There's no place for that on MBs!

The Eagles need someone to come off the edge. You're obviously in denial and are only wearing the green and silver glasses.

The Eagles expected good things from Abiamiri. They also spent a lot of money on Clemens and a high draft pick on Smith. Those are called contingencies. Abiamiri's injury is unfortunate (I've previously called it a huge loss), but luckily the team is not in a desperate situation, as they've accumulated depth at the position over the last 4 months. Parker will start and Clemens will be the pass rush specialist. This isn't a desperate situation, as much as you'd like it to be.

Hate all you want, I love our stacked situation here at DE, while I laugh at yours.

You don't have a stacked de situation. You have a great pair of starters and essentially nothing beyond them. Erasmus James was a low-risk flyer. He is by no means enough to suggest that you have some enviable de corps.

You could be enjoying your stacked situation at corner over there, but your bitter ass would rather be on our site sniffing our proverbial taint..

I am enjoying our stacked corner situation (read: solid starters AND adequate depth). I come here because there tends to be a few people capable of intelligent dialogue. It's clear that you aren't one of them.

Chris Wilson: ..

played 30 snaps as a rookie in 2007 and had 4.0 sacks. Better average than anyone on your D-line...including Cole.

Erasmus James:

Number one draft pick, with old Wisconsin playing coach, injury nearly healed, has 5 sacks in 10.5 full games played. The only time in his life he was healthy, was the first half of his rookie season where he started 9 games and recorded 4.0 sacks. not bad for our backup DE.

Jason Taylor: More sacks this decade than any other player in the NFL!

Andre Carter: 10.5 sacks last year (two less then Trent Cole) who had a career year too.

Rob Jackson: Rookie draft pick in camp... jury is out, but he looks good

Demetric Evans: 9.5 sacks in 12 games started , stops the run, one of the best 2nd teamers in the league

Phillip Daniels and Alex buzbee on IR

How are we not stacked?

Demetric Evan is 28 has been in the league for 6 years and has never started more than 8 games in one season. I think it's a stretch to call him one of the best backups in the league.

Can you name a bunch of better ones? Let me guess... they'll all be Giants

Like Kiwanuka?.. the guy who didn't bother finishing his tackle on Vince Young?

And yet he had more sacks in his rookie season as a backup than Evans has ever had in a single year. Pretty sad that Evans doesn't even compare to a guy who didn't bother finishing a tackle on Vince Young.

According to NFL.com he started in 18 games. Evans has started in 12. Yet they have the same amount of sacks. Keep in my I also didn't say he was the best... I said he was one of the best. Also, keep in mind that we said "Backups" KGB is the best... I suppose.. but he did start for 5 years in GB.

Like I said, can you name a bunch that are better than Evans?

I would say: ND Kalu or Chris Wilson( who is also a Redskin) as possiblities besides KGB

and These guys haven't played one down!

Calais Campbell (still hasn't played)

Derrick Harvey

Quentin Groves

Lawrence Jackson

Chris Long

It seems increasingly obvious that you are of the not-so-select group of Redskins fans that pay attention to no part of the NFL outside of Landover, Md.

Oh and why is that?... or are you just talking out of your ass like usual? Can you prove me wrong? You haven't yet. See, I use facts and stats to back up my arguments.. you just say **** to see what you typed and get you post count up (on an opposing team's forum no less)

I really hate to join in (lol) but to be honest, for most of this thread you've been getting p'own'd! While you have have use facts, they have been more or less, irrelevant and actually supported my brethrens point of view more than your own.

Not hating, just stating...

P.S....nice to see you back W.B....OWU, what's up?

Your organization has been pawned, again.

How could you let Jason Taylor slip between your fingers? Um, is it because you are as cheap as the Bears?

Answer: Yes.

I'm not seeing any real improvement in your roster this year. In fact, now you have a head case who is out in the open with his problems.

Makes for a great season.

This statement is beyond unintelligible, but from what I've attempted to gather from the half-baked paragraph you slopped together, you are saying that my stats and facts have backed up your "Brethren"? How? Also, I'm sure you came to that conclusion in a very fair and objective Eagle way.

P.S....nice to see you back W.B....OWU, what's up?

Yup  ^

Still running in circles, apparently.

I was wondering when I'd start seeing you around here again. Glad to see football season is upon us.

.

You could have your Oprah Book Club meeting with the use of PM's and not highjack the thread perhaps. Tell Shawn Andrews it starts in a couple minutes.

Not hating, just stating

Ah yes, it is that time again for the bravdo and chest pumping of you Skins fans. You say that you saw no real improvements....really?

Booker, Demps, and Jackson instantly improve our ST which will improve the teams field position. LJ Smith is finally healthy and the addition of healthy McNabb will improve the red zone offense. Jackson in the slot adds speed that other teams must respect.

On defense, Bradley starts in the middle now and has many media members calling him a poor man's URLAKERZZ...lol. Clemons and Smith add depth and speed along the DL, though Victor's injury hurts. I won't talk about Samuel because it's known what he will add to the unit. Dawkins though older, will be better than last season after finally being able to have a full off-season to prepare unlike last season. Laws adds another tough young DL to the mix with Patterson and Bunk.

So from what you are looking at to what the rest of us know, it's very difficult to believe your statement that the team didn't improve themselves. A healthy McNabb alone improves this team alot.

Probably just the WR position, which people like to make fun of.

You are right Special teams look improved, and the buzz of linebackers in camp is a daily thing with the reports out of Lehigh, but lets see who stays healthy over the next month before we crown em as Denny likes to say. It's just August.

It's been a while since I debated with a person like you. Good stuff. The Number 2 line was classic, have you been watching Kevin Smith movies or something?

Rather than sit here and trade inflated numbers and try to spin and re-spin barbs with you, I would like to address your comments regarding Shawn Andrews with a serious tone.

I personally have been absent from the site and work for a while because I suffer from high anxiety and moderate depression. I actually was in the hospitial for 2 weeks (should have been there for at least a month) and have to take a ****tail of medication ranging from Zanax to Lexapro. It's not a laughing matter yet, some of you have found time out of your busy schedules to actually make fun of this. Shawn has had emotional problems and it has been documented in Philly media.

From my personal experience, when you go through a "moment" nothing else matters. You ball up and lay in bed all day and try to figure out why you should get up. You either cry all day begging for help, or you cry all day because you don't want help. It takes time to get through this (I had to on two occasions take leave from work ranging in 2 months to 3 weeks) because I had lost the will to live even though my children are more than enough of a reason.

Now while my comment about you getting pwn'd might have been homerish (it actually was) it was in jest, but to make fun of a mental disorder that affect millions of people a year in my eyes is just plain ignorant, and I take it personal since I too suffer from it.

Hey Dock....looks like the gang is getting back together again....how's the summer and the family been? More importantly, man, you guys looked sharp last night, but what are you gonna do about the RB situation? You got a rookie who played like a man-ster last night....hope you guys can hide him away some where.

too many RBs, not enough roster spots. This is where I think the NFL really needs to look. Expand the rosters, give more players jobs, and more competition. As it is, players with a lot of potential will be found standing when the music stops.
