(A) Yes--- I don't see any trades happening, and there aren't too many players to move up for from the top of the 2nd to the 1st. I'd probably agree that for this coming season, WR is a bigger need. However I think that we are old (and have a couple of overrated players) on the Oline and lack some game changing talent on the Dline so because I view those two areas as more important to be stable in, I view them as areas that need addressing first. Of the two, I really really really want another pass rusher to compliment Carter. So I'll go DL. #2. In your opinion do you think the Redskins will address the biggest need at #21 (choose only one)? ( No I'm afraid that they're going to either go corner or maybe WR in the 1st. If they do draft DL in the first, it looks like it'll be Merling who doesn't fill the need for a pass rusher on the Dline. #3. Based on the limited FAs available and what you know about this years draft class do you think the Skins should have gone after more FAs? ( No They were smart to stay quiet (I just hope they continue to stay quiet and not make a bonehead trade on draft day for 85). We're not going to fill every hole in one offseason. I like the disciple. Fill some holes with this draft, fill the others with next year's draft. So on and so on and that's how they'll build a consistent winner (assuming they actually draft players who can play). #4. Do you trust the Skins will put the draft picks to good use? Whether we keep all the picks, trade up, trade down or trade for a vet. (ala Chad Johnson) ( No I have to see it to believe it. Too much history here for me to trust that they will do the right thing and more importantly get the right players. #5 When we use picks to draft, do you think the FO normally does a good job in their evaluation of talent? © They are hit or miss They do a pretty good job with top 10 picks (except for Rogers). With the exception of Cooley and perhaps Rocky (jury is still out yet), they don't seem to find too many "steals" in the later rounds. #6 Do you think the FO will do a good job with the draft this year (ie will you be happy with the outcome)? © Undecided I suspect no, but maybe they'll surprise everyone with a sound draft from top to bottom. #7 Will we keep all of our picks that we have? (A) Yes This is more of a hope selection. I'm hoping that the 85 trade stuff will go away and that the Skins stick with their picks and make smart selections. Of course who knows what trade offers will come during the draft for us to move up or down. #8 How many players that we draft will be starters in the future? ( 4-6 I hope that we keep all our picks, so that means a 1st, a 2nd and two 3rds. To me, those guys have to be starters within a couple of years. So assuming we keep the picks, I hope for 4 near future starters to come out of this draft. #9 What do you expect to get out of the draft (you can pick more than one) © Future Starters in 2009 and beyond More of a hope than an expectation only because of our FO's track record. They're just needed in a different way. WR and DL need only 1 player each, because we're looking for quality, whereas DB and OL needs quantity for depth. #2. In your opinion do you think the Redskins will address the biggest need at #21 (choose only one)? ( No The Skins will go BPA, which may nor may not be a need. #3. Based on the limited FAs available and what you know about this years draft class do you think the Skins should have gone after more FAs? ( No Not at all, because some of them weren't remotely worth it (Bryant Johnson, DJ Hackett). #4. Do you trust the Skins will put the draft picks to good use? Whether we keep all the picks, trade up, trade down or trade for a vet. (ala Chad Johnson) (A) Yes This is the same FO that drafted Cooley, Golston, Montgomery, Doughty, all in later rounds. And they couldn't possibly go wrong by trading for CJ, so yes, I trust them. #5 When we use picks to draft, do you think the FO normally does a good job in their evaluation of talent? (A) Yes Considering the lack of picks we get, yes, they do an excellent job. #6 Do you think the FO will do a good job with the draft this year (ie will you be happy with the outcome)? (A) Yes But thats only assuming we don't waste the 1st rounder on Merling or Balmer. #7 Will we keep all of our picks that we have? Somehow, we'll trade a few of them, but I'm not sure for what (trade down, trade up, or trade away) #8 How many players that we draft will be starters in the future? ( 4-6 #9 What do you expect to get out of the draft (you can pick more than one) © Future Starters in 2009 and beyond With that many late picks, I'd expect starters later down the line, like Monty and Doughty. Walking Deadman Posted April 25, 2008 Author Share Posted April 25, 2008 So far I'm learning a bit..... despite the Vinny slamming we see and how idiotic the FO is (according to many here) nobody has said that the FO is a poor evaluator of talent (mostly positove or hit or miss) and at least pre-draft posters generally think that we'll have a good draft.
