DTN Redskin
POSTED 3:33 p.m. EST, February 29, 2008 COWBOYS CALLING ON BELL? by Michael David Smith Although he doesn't represent quite the kind of "wow" Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has vowed to add to his offense, running back Tatum Bell may be coming to Dallas. ESPN.com is reporting that Dallas is showing interest in Bell, an unrestricted free agent who spent 2007 with the Detroit Lions. Bell never looked like a good fit with the Lions, finishing his one and only season in Detroit with 182 yards. But in 2006, Bell's only year as a starter, he ran for 1,025 yards with the Broncos, and his pure speed could make him just the kind of player Jones craves. kuraitengai
it may not be a 'wow' signing, but wouldnt that give them a decent inside and out combo with mb3 and bell? mb3 pounding away while bell breaks the long ones.
zoony
Well I guess we can kiss the McFadden rumors bye bye. ....
DeMarco Murray 29
Doesn't hurt. We have One running back on our roster w/ game Experience. Bell did run for 1,000 yards in Denver. Which is equivalent to 500-600 on any other team in the NFL. He can split carries for a year and get our First round back time to be a beast. Oldskool
System back and not a great one at that.
coolbeans
The key to this interest is that he should come very cheap. He will be the vet backup and they won't have to draft a RB until the 3rd or 4th round. He will compete with a rookie for the backup spot.

HeHateMe
Really, talent wise, not much of a difference between Bell and Jones. Replacing one with the other is a wash as far as I'm concerned. He should be good enough to share the load with MB3 and contribute in the same fashion as Jones did.
