Gibbs=TheBestEver
when does this hit us for the cap. is the cut effective of now, or did they take the other option?
Larry Brown #43
Good for Ocho Stinko. He'll now have all the time he needs to devote to his music career. This whole 'football' experiment he had going on the side was becoming quite a distraction.

Fred Jones
so what does this do to the cap...help/hurt? Good question. 1. Releasing him today accelerates his cap hit. Meaning the team needed to clear cap space to take the hit. 2. Releasing him post 1 March accelerates his cap hit. 3. Releasing him post 1 March and claiming June 1 exception spreads his cap hit over two years.
HailSkinz1
Hmmm....CJ was on a plane up here and now we cut a WR??? I'm not saying, I'm just saying.... Now that it's official, it begs the question: Which was worse, the Lloyd trade or the Duckett trade? Hail, H
The Full Monty
A horrible mistake. I don't know what's worst, signing him in the first place or giving him a new contract for no reason. Big contract mistakes happen - sending the Niners a 3rd and 4th round pick made it one of the worst blunders in Redskins history. Deion, Bruce Smith, Arch Deluxe, these busts didn't cost us 1 if not 2 quality starters on a team that lacks young depth.
fdarugar
Have we found out if we are going to use this as one of our June 1st cuts to save money...?

Him and Duckett, I think, were the two big mistakes because they cost draft choices. AA just meant we had to rearrange some money.
Troy Fakeman
The Brandon Lloyd chronicle...is the very definition of Dan Snyder's era of ownership. Learn from it Danny / Vinny...Vanny...whoever...and try not to make the same mistake again.

InTikiITrust
Hope he goes to a team in the NFC East so he can get ravaged by Landry at least two games a year. What NFC East team would be stupid enough to sign a guy like this, considering they play the Skins twice a year and saw him do nothing in that span? DieselPwr44
http://redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=34639 The Redskins have released wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, the team has announced. Lloyd's two-year stint with the Redskins proved to be a disappointment. In March 2006, the Redskins traded two mid-round draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Lloyd. At the time, it was thought Lloyd would provide great speed and big-play ability to the Redskins' offense. He ended up catching just 25 passes for 379 yards and no touchdowns in two seasons in Washington. Lloyd began the 2007 season as a starter, but he was replaced by Antwaan Randle El and used in a reserve role. He caught just two passes for 14 yards in eight games last year before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury during a Redskins practice
