I thought we (Extremeskins Nation) would have are own little Hall of Fame committee...I'm very happy that Monk and Green finally made the HOF,but I put this squarely on their qualifications and performance! Not the idiots...

Rules

------

Simple:

1)You only can vote for 1 guy!

2)But unlike the hall, instead of an 80% approval by committee...I will lower it to 51% since the opinions here are more intellegent and the reasons are much more legit but biased none-the-less!

3)I will offer 20 possibilities of guys that may or may not be qualified for the "actual Hall of Fame",but may appear on this list with his credentials, fan favorite, underated status or maybe just simply forgotten!

4)I will leave the voters name in privacy(as it should)

5)Remember:There are no right or wrong answers here! These players spilled their blood in a Redskins uniform and at least derserve the respect from a message board cause they certainly aren't getting it from the voters!

BONUS:Probably won't happen...But I would love to see the winner of this HOF voting process be a possible avatar or maybe even be the next "push" for the HOF next season by our fans...(like Monk)

So without further ado, here is your list of the 20 greatest Redskins(not in the HOF)that ever walked onto the football field!

(I will have this poll up in a few minutes...please give me few minutes without going nuts)...lots of good ones in Burgendy and gold!

Russ Grimm is at the top of our HoF snub list now but I went with Hanburger. I just watched a bit of him in Super Bowl VII on DVR and he has those 9 Pro Bowls.

I think like the real HoF, we should break this down after a while to a shorter list and work our way up to a near unanimous candidate.

Good idea...Most people have left with no coaching news...I'll wait a day or 2 and see where we stand from there...

Dave Butz, he deserves some respect the guy was unstoppable for years. He clogged up the middle like no one I have ever seen. #65 is a legend.

I seconded your vote. Immovable object, sole reason we had the leagues best run defense year after year. Couldn't measure his greatness with individual stats, but he was flatout dominating and made players such as Grant, Manley and Mann much better than they were. He took all the double teams every snap of every play.

Chris Hanburger # 55 is hands down the most deserving Redskin not in the Hall of Fame to date.

I remember watching Chris from 72 through his last season of 1978, and he was amazing. He was considered the best outside Linebacker in the League, both NFC and AFC. He was lightening quick, and would toss running backs and tight ends around like they were rag dolls, and he never showed any mercy on Quarterbacks.

Chris played with tremendous class, after a big play, he simply would walk back to the huddle, never never did he show any fanfare or display any self promotion.

Chris was extremely media unfriendly, and pretty ornery... and the writers hold this against him......which is a terrible injustice not only to Chris, but the integrity of the Hall of Fame process, the NFL. The Redskins and all his loyal fans....

I also find it troubling that his teammates who are in the Hall of Fame like Kenny Houston, who couldn't wait for Chris to return from injury in 77 so he did not have the added responsiblity of calling defensive signals,.... and Charley Taylor

do not mention Chris and lobby for his support to be voted in...... unlike Johnny Bench, and Joe Morgan when they lobbied for years to get Tony Perez voted in.

Chris is not going to get in unlike Snyder or someone with a big voice in the NFL starts bringing to light the bias against Chris.

Maybe if Snyder would retire the number 55, he would be taking the first step in getting the Hall of Fame to understand its huge mistake, and cause it to be embarrassed. But, what am I saying, only a OWNER who claims to be real Redskin fan and remember s how great a player Chris Hanburger was, and what a class act he was on and off the field , would have retired number 55 as soon as he bought the team....

Daniel Snyder a Redskins fan growing up ? what a joke...if he was, Chris Hanburger's number 55 would have been retired before the ink was dry on the sale of the team.
