Top 100 players in the Draft!Who I would like to see the Skins to select...?

Here are the top 100 college players a this time...Now it's subject to change with some players declaring for draft, but it's good place to start...I figure there are about 3 to 4 rounds worth of players here, when factoring in reaches from teams and possibly some that fall off the draft board!

We will be getting a new coach soon,so here are some of the players that I think would help his debut tenure a LOT!we have the 21st pick,soI will try to be as realistic as I can on who we should get..(I would love to get Glenn Dorsey, but unless we trade up...WE ain't gettin' him)

The list is what and who is projected to go where?I will give my analysis if I agree or disagree!!

So here you go

----------------

Calais Campbell, DE, Miami

Height: 6-8 DE Rank: 3

Weight: 282 Overall Rank: 16

Year: Jr 40 Time: 4.77

Top 4 teams likely targeting Calais Campbell.

Team # Drafts %

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 42 24.7

Arizona Cardinals, Pick 16 19 11.2

Minnesota Vikings, Pick 17 14 8.2

Carolina Panthers, Pick 13 13 7.6

My observation=There are many mocks that have us taking this guy!Even though early mocks are usually WAY off,I can't argue the need and the physical freakish height and wingspan this guy posesses...I mean..we are talking about a lot of batted balls and the reasonable speed to get to the QB.I don't know a great deal about the guy,but i do know he replaces Phillip Daniels in the first game of the season...Specially if Gwilliams is gone...!It would be hard to argue this pick!

Calais Campbell Scouting Report by Joseph Wilcox

Pros: Campbell is a great athlete that can explode off the ball to get around offensive tackle has long arms and reach standing 6foot 8inchs tall, he looks light for his weight still has room to build up at 275lbs he can put on another 20lbs or so off muscle.

Cons: Relies too much on athletic ability if he cannot beat his man one on one he lacks the pass rushing skills to get by the blocker, weak against the run gets. Also stands up to quickly out of his break allowing lineman to block him easily.

Overall: He can be a great player if he is coached right and used in the right system even with all of his cons he still can be a diffrence maker in his first year.

Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida

Height: 6-4 DE Rank: 4

Weight: 245 Overall Rank: 22

Year: Jr 40 Time: 4.67

Top 4 teams likely targeting Derrick Harvey.

Team # Drafts %

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 33 22.8

Jacksonville Jaguars, Pick 28 21 14.5

Arizona Cardinals, Pick 16 14 9.7

Minnesota Vikings, Pick 17 11 7.6

My observation=He's good, but I think he's a tweener..!If he could add about 30 lbs, then I wouldn't really argue the pick. But we haven't had the best of luck drafting guys out of Florida either! If the guy plays like Ken Harvey(LB),then sign him up...otherwise I would pass...!As bad as we need a DE,I don't want us to get desperate and draft a guy because of need...Specially if there's a good CB or OT on the board.PASS

Reggie Smith, CB, Oklahoma

Height: 6-1 CB Rank: 5

Weight: 198 Overall Rank: 37

Year: Jr 40 Time: 4.58

Top 4 teams likely targeting Reggie Smith.

Team # Drafts %

Green Bay Packers, Pick 29 16 22.9

Dallas Cowboys, Pick 30 8 11.4

Dallas Cowboys, Pick 23 8 11.4

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 5 7.1

My observation=He's good...very good! :notworthy Being a Mizzou fan,I had the pleasure of watching him shutdown the Missouri Wide Recievers not once, but twice(and nobody could do that this year...NOBODY!).He made Chase look mortal and had some huge plays in both games...He's got good size and he's much faster than that 40 time up there...trust me!I don't think we draft a CB in the 1st,but if somehow he fell to the 2nd round..that would be a steal! If Springs is gone this year...don't be angry if we take him in the 1st!

Lawrence Jackson, DE, USC

Height: 6-5 DE Rank: 6

Weight: 265 Overall Rank: 40

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.83

Top 4 teams likely targeting Lawrence Jackson.

Team # Drafts %

Jacksonville Jaguars, Pick 28 8 14.8

St. Louis Rams, Pick 33 5 9.3

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 5 9.3

Detroit Lions, Pick 45 3 5.6

My observation=Don't know a whole lot about the guy to be honest..I did watch a little of the Bowl game, but nothing really came out and struck as far as his play that I could remember...If anybody knows much about him, feel free to tell me!

Fred Davis, TE, USC

Height: 6-4 TE Rank: 1

Weight: 260 Overall Rank: 41

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.76

Top 4 teams likely targeting Fred Davis.

Team # Drafts %

Green Bay Packers, Pick 29 8 16.7

Seattle Seahawks, Pick 22 7 14.6

New Orleans Saints, Pick 10 3 6.3

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 3 6.3

My observation=He is the number 1 TE ranked in the draft, but there is no way we take him in the 1st!!No way..we have way to many other needs and Cooley is the MAN!Could he be taken in the 2nd if there?I doubt it,unless he's the best player on the board and we can't pass him up.But TE's have become a big important asset to many teams. There's too many teams besides us,that could really benefit from grabbing this guy!But the thought is nice when seeing Cooley and Davis in Double TE packages.. ;)

Terrell Thomas, CB, USC

Height: 6-1 CB Rank: 6

Weight: 200 Overall Rank: 48

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.40

Top 4 teams likely targeting Terrell Thomas.

Team # Drafts %

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 3 11.1

New York Giants, Pick 26 2 7.4

Green Bay Packers, Pick 29 2 7.4

Philadelphia Eagles, Pick 49 2 7.4

My observation=From what I have seen of this guy...I'm a little concerned! He's got good size, but wasn't he the one that got burned against Stanford? Not saying 1 play makes a player, but I would rather continue to look elsewhere, rather than just looking at big schools!I don't want him at #21 for sure! I say PASS!

Terrell Thomas Scouting Report by Matt G

Pros: Pass Coverage, Tackling Ability, Hard Hitting Corner, Run Coverage, Hands

Cons: Too agressive, Penalties tend to build up, ego problem?

Overall: Thomas really showed up his junior season and clearly showed he is the top corner at USC. He may be the best pure coverage corner coming out of the draft. He is a corner who can put a hit on you but sometimes tends to play too agressive. Terrell Thomas's shutdown Corner potential should not stray far from the middle of round one.

Jamar Adams, S, Michigan

Height: 6-2 S Rank: 2

Weight: 212 Overall Rank: 50

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.58

Top 4 teams likely targeting Jamar Adams.

Team # Drafts %

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 2 9.1

Dallas Cowboys, Pick 30 2 9.1

Miami Dolphins, Pick 64 2 9.1

Chicago Bears, Pick 44 2 9.1

My observation=Not sure how the organization feels about drafting another safety with the loss of Taylor? But I sure liked the idea of having 2 studs back there...I actually like the fact his stock is dropping!! ;) Being able to put another possible stud next to Landry in the very next season after the tragedy would be great,if they feel Doughty is not the guy..I like his size for sure, but don't know much more than that about this guy!

Jamar Adams Scouting Report by Ben Broman

Pros: Can make the big hit. Has a nose for the ball. Flocks to the tackle. Takes good angles. Traditionally good against the run.

Cons: Stiff. Average athlete. Definitely can't go in man coverage, lacks overall cover skills. Always around the ball, but tentative to engage.

Overall: Early in the year, he was 1st round material, mid-2nd at worst. Michigan's tough year didn't help his stock, and he's dropping fast. Probably not an everydown player, but certainly could play on special teams and come in on rushing situations.

Marcus Griffin, S, Texas

Height: 6-0 S Rank: 3

Weight: 202 Overall Rank: 57

Year: Sr 40 Time: 0.00

Top 4 teams likely targeting Marcus Griffin.

Team # Drafts %

Washington Redskins, Pick 21 5 18.5

Dallas Cowboys, Pick 30 2 7.4

San Diego Chargers, Pick 59 2 7.4

Tennessee Titans, Pick 55 2 7.4

My observation=I know he's pretty fast, but he's not the best tackler in the world,as I've seen him miss some big tackles in games...I say PASS!

Chris Ellis, DE, Virginia Tech

Height: 6-5 DE Rank: 8

Weight: 258 Overall Rank: 65

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.67

Top 4 teams likely targeting Chris Ellis.

Team # Drafts %

Detroit Lions, Pick 45 2 8.3

Washington Redskins, Pick 51 2 8.3

Cleveland Browns, Pick 53 2 8.3

Denver Broncos, Pick 42 1 4.2

My observation=This guy is a baller..!Don't really want to reach for him in the 1st,being that he's a little undersized. He is quick, smart and has a motor like Jared Allen...If we got him in the 2nd round, that would be cool!!

Will Arnold, OG, LSU

Height: 6-4 OG Rank: 3

Weight: 322 Overall Rank: 71

Year: Sr 40 Time: 5.36

Top 4 teams likely targeting Will Arnold.

Team # Drafts %

Atlanta Falcons, Pick 48 2 13.3

Arizona Cardinals, Pick 16 1 6.7

Indianapolis Colts, Pick 61 1 6.7

Washington Redskins, Pick 84 1 6.7

My observation=We really need to get some depth on that line!If Grimm happens to be our coach, you can bet we will grab one on day 1 of the draft!I think Arnold would be a good fit here in D.C. and could fight for playing time against Randy and Pete!

Chad Henne, QB, Michigan

Height: 6-2 QB Rank: 8

Weight: 224 Overall Rank: 77

Year: Sr 40 Time: 4.76

Top 4 teams likely targeting Chad Henne.

Team # Drafts %

Dallas Cowboys, Pick 30 3 13

Kansas City Chiefs, Pick 34 2 8.7

Cincinnati Bengals, Pick 46 1 4.3

Washington Redskins, Pick 51 1 4.3

[QUOTE]Chad Henne Scouting Report by Mostly

Pros: Henne Has good size, has been relatively injury free though he has played four years. Great arm strength, can make all the throws, and had the luxury of playing with Avant, Breaton, Braylon Edwards, and future picks Arrington and Manningham. Great leadership, has played through injury. He is very poised and confident as well, dispite another review Chad always played well in big games. Check his Rosebowl stats his freshman year, and his numbers in his first three OSU games.

Cons: His deep ball tends to sail somewhat. He isn't very mobile. More importantly, has a slight hitch in his wind up. Henne will throw the bone headed interception every so often, and looks like a fish out of water when the pocket collapses.

Overall: With a premium on qb's Henne will get his shot. Henne is a third round selection. He became the forgotten mad after the terrible season the Wolverines had. Scouts rave about Matt Ryan, Brohm and Woodson. I think Woodson the class of this class, and Henne is second. However, I think the combine may hurt his stock. His numbers were hurt by his senior year injuries. However, he is a strong leader, with arm strength, and he is battle tested. It is also worth a mention that GM's know Tom Brady went 16-0 this year, and Todd Collins lead the flounder Redskins to the playoffs. Having Michigan QB's doing so well, may make someone reach for Henne higher than we anticipate.

Chad Henne Scouting Report by Matt G

Pros: Strong Arm Strength, Field Awareness,Very Experienced, Will Take the smart sack in stead of throwing into coverage.

Cons: Is in trouble when the pocket collapses, The "Big Game" has caused problems, Not a fiery leader,No mobility, he uses his arm strength too much and tends to overthrow.

Overall: Henne has started at Michigan since the beginning of his freshman season. The term "choke artist" has been tagged yo his name as his biggest college moment was beating Penn State in the final play in 05'. Henne has too good of an arm and too much experience under his belt to not get drafted. He looks to be a second round pick now but impressing scouts at the combine will help his cause and maybe bump him into the first round. Take in account he played in a very conservative Lloyd Carr Offense.

Keenan Burton Scouting Report by Justin

Pros: Great speed, hands and body control make him a balanced threat. His ability to adjust to most passes are probably his best asset and becomes most dangerous in the redzone.

Cons: Injuries his senior year cost him from having the season he truly should have. Only average height at the WR position.

Overall: Not best receiver in class, but certainly top five. Solid 2nd round pick here.

there is no way we are taking Jonathan Hefney in the first or even 2nd round. He won't even go until the 3rd if he's lucky. The guy was predicted to be a 1st team All-American here at UT and then failed miserably and was average at best.

Now if we needed a LB, Jerod Mayo would be clutch, but he's an Inside LB so we probably don't need him.

Call me crazy but I would really like to see us take Henne in the second or third round. Henne is the type of QB we need. He is smart and has good field awareness, something Campbell is severely lacking.

Hahaha. No.

We need DE, O-line, WR, and secondary help.

We cannot afford to take another QB in Henne when we have Campbell already.

And what if Campbell doesnt turn out to be the QB you think he is capable of? Bringing in competition fort Campbell is not a bad thing.

cuz we dont have a top 10 pick.....note he said REALISTIC!!

We really have no idea where the top DE's are going to land in the draft until after the combine.

Gohlston could run a 6.0/40 and bench press 225lbs 3 times, or come up with a hammy injury that could make him drop.

And there is always one player every year that is a combine warrior that shoots up the boards.

QB's take 3-4 years of being in the system before you know anything about how they will work out or not.

What are you going to do, throw Henne out there in a new system that he barely knows as a rookie? Sounds like a plan if you want to go 3-13 next year.

Really? Someone should tell Tony Romo sits to pee that who set his team's records and went to a Pro Bowl in his first year in a system. Someone should also tell Jay Culter who looks good in his second year in Denver's system. Also, it did not take Jeff Garcia long to learn Andy Reid's system in Philly last year. It also didn't take Kitna long to learn Martz's system in Detroit.

Funny how none of these guys took 4 fricking years to learn how to play football in an offensive system like JC is suppose to require.

Tell you what: if Henne came to camp in this "new system" AND beat out JC, then yes: I would throw him out there because the best player should be on the field.

That would be a great story.

However, again, we need DE, OL, secondary and WR help more than we need a rookie QB to "put pressure" on a established QB. That's what veterans like Collins are for.

Romo sits to pee has a squad around him that JC doesn't. Give Jason a Terrell Owens. Don't you realize when QBs have a #1 WR their stats go up, Tom Brady was a Qb that throw for 25-29 Tds a year but now with Moss, its up to 50. Mcnabb had his best year ever with Owens. Peyton has Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Culter didn't look very good and his stats are similiar to JC. Garcia played the west coast offense in sf, andy reid and marcucci come from the holmgren tree

Wow think before you post. JC played in a horizontal offense his whole life and now he is a playing a vertical timing offense. If it not for his playmakers, the redskins were in prime position to be 7-1 to start the season

I'm pretty sure Calais Campbell is going to be a massive bust. I don't want anything to do with him. Anyone with his physical stature who was going to be good (ala a Peppers or Mario Williams) would be going a lot higher than the 20s. If he starts falling past 15, I wouldn't touch him. (He's also from the U, and we need LESS players from that rathole, not more).

With his athleticism and size, if he was going to be a solid-good NFL player, he would be a top 5 pick.

But wouldn't it just be easier to blame JC for not throwing 30+ TDs a year, and assume that the QB coming out of our favorite schools would absolutely tear the league apart?

I myself am a Limas Sweed guy and starting to become very Anti-First Round DE. Maybe OLB, but not DE.

I don't want to burst your bubble , but this is Romo sits to pee's third year in Dallas. The major difference is he has an offensive line that's young and healthy. With an offensive line that stays healthy, you have options. When your offensive line is made up of second and third team guys, the QB doesn't look as good. Neither do the running backs. I won't say Romo sits to pee doesn't have skill, but his first year he did nada but hold a clipboard.

Garcia is in his 9th year. Kitna is in his 11th. So I guess they had more than 4 years to learn their offenses. Cutler was drafted in 2005 as was Campbell. Campbell looks good, too. He looks better when he has protection.

For a team that had trouble scoring from within the 5, I would think offensive linemen are a priority. Looking strictly at offense, I don't think we need WR, TE, QB, or RB, but we could use two top of the line guards - one to start and one to backup Thomas and learn the system. In order to score inside the 5 you need someone to push the pile back. We haven't had that in a long time.

I might not squawk at getting a top notch DE, but if we don't spend two of our first three picks on O-line, it's going to be another year of 17 to 20 points a game decided by a field goal.

Henne IS smart but he is like Bledsoe in the pocket. The good thing is, because of some of his downsides, he could be had later than 2nd or 3rd round. I admit, I'm not up on all teams in the college ranks but you could do worse than Henne if you had a 6th round pick. Michigan is the new Quarterback U, it's just a matter of whether Henne will work with coaches to lose some of the muscle mass he gained at Michigan and become slightly more fleet of foot. He doesn't ever have to be great, just good enough to move around.

But I'd definitely take a late round flyer on him, unless we had a good line prospect out there or a great college kicker that slipped (like Mason Crosby.)

I'm a Michigan man, but if you have a shot at Vernon Gholston, you TAKE VERNON GHOLSTON.

Hell, if you have a chance to move up and pick him up, I think you do it. Barring any interview slip-ups or character concerns.

If I"m ANY team, I kind of look askance at USC top prospects because the last few years have not been kind to their production as matched to their hype. Seriously, Udeze? BUST. Bush? Not Gale Sayers or Sanders or Faulk.

Dominique Byrd the TE all the USC boosters wanted? Dude hasn't done ___. LOL Dwayne "The Film Creature" Jarrett? They've had some guys go on to be OK...hey isn't Winston Justice a USC guy too? He's awful and he was a second round pick. Leinart had flashes but I'm not betting the house on the dude, but at least it looks like USC might be able to turn out QBs.

Oh Right besides Brady, you have successes like Grbac, Greise, Drew Henson. These guys are sure lightening it up.
