SwankGator
This gives me the heebee-jeebee's: Gumby or Mcgahee? Unfortunately for him, I read he was inelligible for the Lloyd's of London insurance policy since he was too young. *shrug* Hopefully he will have a quick recovery. OrangeSkin
Good Lord, that is gruesome as hell. It looks like his entire upper body got twisted around 180 degrees. That can kill a career right there.
dchogs
my wife and i both yelled out loud (and woke up the kids  ) when we saw that angle on the instant replay. i feel real bad for that kid.
Brave
You could see in his face he had visions of a ruined career. Very sad ... he was less than 12 game minutes from a big pay day. Have to feel bad for the guy.
ljer
Haven't seen a highlight yet. Did he break his leg or tear up his knee????
Big Will
He tore his ACL. Very sad indeed.
Brave
This may be a case where it LOOKED worse than it will ultimately be. It certainly looked gruesome and possibly career-ending, but successful comebacks from ACL injuries are happening more and more often.
dchogs
brave, i sure hope so. watching the replay last night, it looked like he could have blown every tendon in the knee. a big downer, considering i was cheering the stop like a madman at first. i'm also suprised that it doesn't happen more often with players tackling by taking out the legs. fansince62
this will change draft strategies ahead of us obviously
Mad Mike
That was the best football game I've seen all year at any level. Both teams played with heart and determination. Miami seemd shocked at first that they Ohio State was not going to roll over for them but later recoverd their composure and fought back. That injury was a heart breaker. McGahee was having a good game and his loss may have been the difference for Miami in the end. Best wishes to him for a speedy and full recovery. BTW Ohio State won this game in the first half with a great gameplan. Miami kept trying to make the big plays and OS was ready for it. Miami didn't seem to adjust and shorten up their expectations or passes untill the third quarter. Once they did, they were able to protect Dorsey better and get some consistency going. Hats off to Ohio State for a great gameplan and inspired play. They deserved to win.
PCS
First of all....that was just grim. Hope the kid comes back from that. Though already stated, here's the Miami official word on the lad. http://espn.go.com/ncf/bowls02/s/fiesta_mcgaheehurt.html
gbear
Atleast heis only a sophmore. Typically people coming back from ACL tears aren't the saem for over a year. Atleast this way he can have up to two years to repair his draft stock. Oy, you hate to see that happen to anybody.
MRMADD
Poor guy. He went from the top of the world (Heisman candidate, sure-fire first rounder, fast cars, faster women, loads of cash) to the bottom in one play. I hope he makes it back, but the odds are stacked against him. For every feel-good story about a player who comes back from a serious knee injury, there are 20 others who don't. tex
SwankGator that picture you linked to carries a major pucker factor. Really feel for that kid. A lot of ability is going to be wasted if he can't come back from that injury.
RiggoDrill
Dudes .... that was a Theisman .... I'm happy to win -- I've been a Buckeye for most of my life: 1975- present. But McGaHee didn't need that. I hate to see a great player go down.
SwankGator
Torn ACL, MCL, and PCL. One can only hope that 20 years from now after making it big in the NFL he can laugh like Joe Theisman and make ESPN commercials with some dogs breaking dog-bones during a poker game.
