skins5060
I have a Boston Terrier that weighs about 18 pds. My girlfriend and I went to a clinic in Arlington (Caring Hands Vet) and they gave us an estimate of 700-900 bucks. He does need a hernia fixed from when he was born (estimated at a little under 200 bucks). This seems like a lot, anyone dog owners care to chime in on their experiences, or have good places that they go to in the Alexandria/Arlington area? Thanks. We had our dog fixed for around 200 last year. Also if you look for spay and neuter months alot of vets give big discounts during that time. It is a little cheaper for the males than females. skins5060
Cool, I thought the estimate seemed a bit high. Will have to keep looking.
manleyistheman
That does seem very high. We had our female dog spayed for under 300 and she also had a small hernia that got fixed at the same time. I would definitely look around.

The Evil Genius
The local SPCA's will do it for cheaper too. Although you are better off finding a good Vet - IMHO.
Coach Williams
THere's tons of places out here in AZ to have it done for free...... if it really costs $700 in DC ya may as well buy a ticket and stay with me for the weekend:laugh:
Gary Clark Fan
My wife and I recently got our dog neutered and it cost us between $250-$325. Now we have a small dog so Im not sure if it cost more for a bigger dog, but figured I would pass this on.

skins5060
Cool. thanks for the suggestions. We're gonna check with the local animal shelters. You can buy some type of discount through them at it pays for the neutering part and they suggest places to go with it. No way am i paying that much.
