That's sad, I know we didn't even make the playoffs, but some how I don't feel as bad about it now. In most years only one of those teams would have made it to the playoffs. None of the teams in the East played good ball for the entire season. The division crown ended up going to the eam that stunk the least. I've never really understood why people would WANT the NFC to go back to it's glory days.... where the teams beat the hell out of each other. Nothing wrong with dominating your division... and securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs (with a week's rest). That's the most important factor. I'd like to believe this since the Skins are in the NFCE, but the fact is, the division looks a lot like the NFC Central in the '80s...no great teams (with the exception of the Bears in 84...). To me it's because the teams were much better and were beating the hell out of each other to be on top as opposed to not being on the bottom. Still half the NFC teams in the playoffs came from the east, yes all the games were competitive, but with the 3 teams all having a chance for first place in the east, all were only good enough to match up against the second place teams within the conference.
