Rocky21
Good arguments from Coach Mike. **** Chris Carter. He sucked ass in the playoffs. What a loser.
wskin44
Awesome write up! I've tried to find out how many times Art's got a first down on third down compared to other HOF receivers, but haven't found it. Although he played on a running team that preferred to run in the red zone, he often was the one who kept drives alive. How many times did we see Jerry Rice catch a one or two yard td pass? SF used this play repeatedly even on first down. Nothing wrong with it, but each player has to be evaluated within the system that they played. Many of the comparisons that are made to degrade Art make no sense.
redskin81
Wow. I think he just about summed that up.
CliffBattles
I could hear the rebuttal to this being [in pouty tone], "Well, I guess so." All the evidence is there....problem is.... Monk never sold himself. Should be a positive, but it is a negative.
Pedro
Should have left the bit at the end out (the losing interest personal bit that has no relevance) but other than that pure pwnage. Great read, thanks for posting.
Roborob132
Yeah I heard alot about MONKS PLAYOFF STATS.. Well, umm, DIDNT BARRY SANDERS have pretty horrible stats in the playoffs? HMMM.
pjfootballer
I can say that this is the first time I've read something that long on this board. I usually dismiss it because I don't have the time, but knowing it was Monk, made me read it. They should blow this up real big and tape it to the front doors of the HOF. Jimbo
Wow. I think he just about summed that up. Just about? I read the whole thing and I couldn't think of one single point he missed. I sure hope this guy has a vote or at least some influence.
pjfootballer
Only thing is, he said we lost 2 games in the 1991 season by 2 points. Incorrect. We lost 24-21 to Dallass and 24-22 to Philthy in the last game. 5 points. It was the 83 team that lost 2 games by 2 points, 31-30 to Dallass opening night (Led 23-3 at half) and Green Bay 48-47 when Mosley botched a 37 yard FG at the gun.
