MrMan978
Smith there's really no reason for this debate Smith is way better. I love Santana but look at Smith's vertically and the ability to break tackles.
CPortJGibbs89
This has been discussed before a few weeks ago. I said santana.
WeownU
Santana is very good, Smith is on a whole different level though. Smith everyday, and twice on sundays.
kevin11
Hmm, Smith right now, but moss isn't as weak as everybody says.
Laxpunk2006
While I love Santana I agree with most of the posters that Smith is the better reciever. Smith is just ALWAYS open and always makes big plays when the team needs them. Santana makes his share of plays but he isn't quite the threat that Steve Smith is. I don't think anyone here should be upset about that though, because there only is one Steve Smith and we have the next best thing.
RDSKNfaithfull
Smith by quite a bit Santana is the man but he dissapears sometimes.
Enter Apotheosis
smith. santana is faster and better after the catch, but smith is bigger and doesnt go down as easy. Actually, Steve Smith is shorter than Santana. In general, though, I totally disagree with what you said. Smith and Santana are about on par after the catch and both have that punt-returner mentality. They are both also extremely difficult to bring down... not necessarily because of their respective physicality but because they are small targets with boatloads of moves. For now, Smith is the better WR. However, you have to take into account that we have NOT thrown the deep ball at all this year and our quarterbacking has been suspect at best in games where Santana has started. The Panthers, on the other hand, have a significanly better aerial assault with Jake Delhomme. :2cents:
skinfan2k
maybe we can have this discussion next year, when campbell gets reps with moss and moss finally has a real qb to play with
phishisthegreatstuff
smith is the best reciever in football but santana is very good. Here the top 15. Smith, harrison, chad Johson, TO, Lee Evans, Santana, javon walker, Tory holt, Chris chambers, Plexico burress, hines ward, Roy williams, Joey gallaway, joe horn, and randy moss. cosmopolitianbloodloss
This is tough. I'd love to be a homer and go with Santana, but Steve Smith is much stronger so I'm gonna have to take him.
dwbiggs
A lot of it has to do with whos throwing them the ball...right now Carolina's QB is better than ours so Smith will have more oportunities.

CaptChaos86
I am first and foremost a redskins fan but i do live in charlotte nc so i root for the panthers occasionally. but i think they are pretty equal. Santana is great after the catch. And smith is great at gettin open and beating the corner. So its a draw.
bryanjr2003
Randy Moss I dont think so he has been invisible this year. I think we will see alot more out of Santana with Campbell at QB he will actually stand in the pocket and look downfield and can scramble to avoid the rush I think they are pretty close I give Moss the advantage when it comes to making a clutch play
RedskinsFan06
smith. santana is faster and better after the catch, but smith is bigger and doesnt go down as easy. ???? Steve Smith is as good if not better after the catch. He is better then Moss..not by alot but he is.
CPortJGibbs89
maybe we can have this discussion next year, when campbell gets reps with moss and moss finally has a real qb to play withI think this plays a huge role in the debate. I hear that Moss might actually play this weekend. It sucks not seeing Jason with Clinton but at least we can see him with Moss.

IceDragon38
Your receivers are only as good as the QB. Do you think Harrison would be as good without Peyton? How about Chad Johnson without Palmer? Look at how crappy Randy Moss has looked without Culpepper. The debate is the same here. Delhomme >>>>>>>>> Brunell, so of course Smith will look better.
