Slateman
is in a perfect position. I know there was a discussion about where to put it. A lot of people disagreed with where it is now. Well, I got to see it at night from the air last night. I flew in from Atlanta at about 8pm. On the way in, I could see the Washington Monument, Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, and WWII Memorial, all lit up. Its perfect :applause: :applause: :applause:
ntotoro
When I used to work at the FCC (just around the corner from the monuments, right off 12th before you get to the waterfront), there would be nothing more haunting than driving to work on a snowy day and going down Independence past the Korea memorial. When you see the statues there with the snow on their heads and shoulders... it's just a little jarring.
Midnight Judges
That's great to hear. I haven't made it out there yet but I think this memorial was long overdue. They truely are the greatest generation.
Dan T.
It's definitely in a prominent position, right in line with the Washington and Lincoln memorials.
