wpenn1
I was just wondering have we ever seen Gibbs develop a young quarterback. Every since I can remember he has always had a veteran quarterback running the offense.

Burgold
Yup, those are the main two. You can also add in Stan Humphries who Gibbs trained, but incorrectly discarded and was good enough to get San Diego to a Superbowl.
DieHard86
Rypien road the bench for at least two years, may have seen some action in 88, split with Doug W. until Ryp became the man at the end of 89 when it was clear that he was going to very good with Gibbs. Ah, 89. Damn tiebreakers.
Taylor 36
Gibbs has taken average at best QB's, made them ride the pine for a few seasons, and then started them and guiding them through great seasons. When Campbell is ready, Gibbs will know and he WILL be ready then and then only.
SavageForce21
Mark Rypien Yep, and he turned out pretty well! He's from my alma matter too, Go Cougs!!
SavageForce21
Is there any other coach in NFL history that has won three or more Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks? How about two different quarterbacks? I don't think so.
Khun Kao
I think Parcells and Landry won the SB with different QB's (2 each), but none with 3.
bubba9497
Stan Humpries before he ran himself into Gibbs doghouse
Khun Kao
CORRECTION: Landry took 2 QB's to the SB, but only Staubach won for him (his other QB was Morton) Parcells won his 1st Super Bowl with Simms, his 2nd was Hostetler
Khun Kao
bubba, refresh my memory, why was it that Humphries ran himself into Gibb's doghouse?
SoCalSkins
bubba, refresh my memory, why was it that Humphries ran himself into Gibb's doghouse? Bone-headed turnovers. Same with Rypien a couple of times. The only QB to save himself from the hook for poor play has been Brunell. As far as young qb's let's not forget Cary Conklin. The greatest qb to ever play in the pre-season.
