gortiz
we get sacked, we don't have enough time to set up for FG, simple. To many things that can happen in a tight game agianst a blue chip Defense, as the end of this game proved, EVERY POINT COUNTS.
bubba9497
Ask the Jets about going for it on 4th and short, instead of kicking a FG

Monte51Coleman
Ask the Jets. They didn't kick, didn't convert, and lost by 3. Typical "chicken-ball" call by Gibbs. Geeez ... I wish Gibbs had bigger balls. You mean big balls like Eric Mangini?
skinfan2k
who ever thinks going for it is plain stupid. . make the other team make the mistake.. u take the sure fg and let ur defense stop them. at worst u take it to OT, 99% of the time the other team will not score a td and win teh game. Hogskin1
They DID go for it. It was called 3rd and 1. They didn't make it. So Gibbs, not being an idiot, took the field goal. If you go AGAIN on 4th and miss, the Jags start on the 34 and only have to move down for a field goal (which they later did). That would have been a very foolish gamble. Coaches with lifetime strong winning percentages would universally make that decision in THIS situation. That is one reason they win so many games. ArmchairRedskin
Of course you kick the FG. That's just smart football decisions 101.
