Soup
Why not placed sean taylor at CB; he's a great athlete. Placing him in front of the other teams WRs could have a mental effect for their WRs. Just like Owens has problems with taylor. I mean Owens is a great reciever and we shot him down why not place taylor at CB.
#1njskinsfan
uhhhhh not a crazy idea, but no thanks, what he needs to do it go for the ball more instead of the knock out hit
Raub
Who do we replace him at safety with? Prioleau is gone for the season and no one else has really stepped up. No thanks, I'd rather see ST back there at safety.

Oldskool
This would have been a bad idea even before Pierson Prioleau went down for the season in the first game. If Taylor gets moved to CB from SS, then the only other FS that we have on the roster is Reed Doughty, a rookie who was an UDFA coming out of college that played SS at No. Colorado. Not something I'd care to see happen.
hkHog
At FS he can make up for a lot of mistakes that our inexperienced CBs make. It is more important to have him out there playing center field than having him just cover one guy.
SoCalSkins
I say we play him at QB.
drums and skins
Yea... Raub pretty much said the obvious answer. Without Prioleau, we need to keep that safety position solid. Hopefully Doughty can step it up, but I don't see him getting considerable playing time anytime soon.

Skins n' Bones
I think there was another thread about this during preseason. ST is best at the safety position. Now sometimes, he still ends up covering a receiver one-on-one, but let him stay where he's at for the most part. If/when one of our CB's gets beat, ST is there to place the hit and make the WR think about it. Why limit him to only one WR per play?
dcrasta
Face it we need 11 Sean Taylors on Defense. He is our best defensive player. Lets just all hope/pray he doesnt get hurt! Go ST..
-mando-
give me a break, ST is our best defensive player BUT plays safety for a reason, when matched one on one this season, he has had 2 tds scored against him (crayton, the slot wr, and the te for the texans), I would keep him at safety where any reciever in his path has to feel his wrath much more than have him matched up one on one with anybody, hes just not as good or as effective that way
DWARF-HOG
If not broke don't fix. I know we have CB concerns, but why take one of our best players at his position to try to fill the void. :point2sky :eaglesuck :gaintsuck :dallasuck :point2sky "For those who are about to die, we salute you!" Redskins4ever
I think he could play corner. Does anyone remember the game against Pitt when Taylor was covering Larry Litzgerald the whole game and Fitzgerald caught like 3 passes for 18 yards? Sean Taylor could play corner, especially against the bigger wideouts that the Jags have.
Oldskool
Reed Doughty was a 6th round pick Your right, misread the page 6th pick in the 6th round, number 173 player drafted overall.
Chachie
I wouldn't be against it accept that I believe this would take away his best attribute- the bone-shattering tackle. He'd have to run with speedsters all day instead of paralyzing them from the back field.
desertfox59
Why you ask...? because you want your best secondary player and openfield tackler at the free safety position. that's why.
jcameronmk
when springs gets back (hopefully week 5) we'll be fine at corner. when you think about it we're actually pretty deep there. most teams would have a meltdown if their shutdown corner was out for the first 4 weeks. BlackOps
We wouldn't do it because we don't have two quality safeties. Archuleta can't cover and he doesn't hit hard/well enough to make up for it.
ptr77
He can't cover wrs better than wrigth or rumph 1 on 1. Otherwise he probably would be. Rumph has played safety so if you think taylor could play corner, than rumph could move to safety, both would end badly for each player and the team. ramirez415
I see your point, but I think sean helps us more as a intimidating safety, I mean WR's have to think about the guy everytime they catch the ball. Lets just hope Springs comes back @ 100% then all will be well.
txskins
I pretty positive ST would completely kick ass at any position on the football field but safety is where he can make the most out of his ability on defense. On offense now I wouldn't mind seeing a few packages for him!!
