Trippster
I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but I was wondering if maybe Brunell's success last year had to do with Bill Musgrave? As hailed as Saunders' arrival was, do you think we overlooked Musgrave's departure? What do you think?
shsu1
I was about to start a new thread on this, but searched for this gem. I was thinking the same thing. Look at how great Vick is passing the ball now. I thought Musgrave was the difference last year. Snyder should have invested some more money in trying to keep this guy. He overpays for other coaches anyway.
Andre The Giant
I surprised Jason didn't latch onto this in yesterday's article, especially with Aikman bringing it up during last week's broadcast.
Taylor 36
He may have helped, but I think we have to remember that Brunell was actually 100% healthy for most of last year, and he was in his second year under Gibbs' system.
Bryan81
I don't know how important Musgrave was, but this QB coach sucks.
SkinsFTW
I think its just the new offense that Brunell isn't the right kind of QB to run. It's not like Brunell was Joe Montana last year either, he just didn't make a lot of mistakes and we won games when Portis ran for 100+.
nyfan
Might have to do with the fact that we were a power running team last year. God knows what we are now.
Mister Happy
The current QB coach, Bill Lazor, has 0 years of NFL experience as a QB coach or player. He is younger than Brunell and Collins. Admittedly, Brunell is having problems executing the offense properly. Part of the blame deserves to go to Lazor. With all the money we spend on coaches, we really should have gone after Terry Shea, who actually knows Saunders' offense.
D'Pablo
I made a thread about this a few weeks ago actually. People dismissed it because they felt Vick hadn't really progressed this season and was essentially an option quarterback. I think that's BS, and Musgrave has been money wherever he has gone. dreamingwolf
If our QB coach is the make or break of our team we are in trouble. I dont discount that musgrave is a good asset for any team, his absence is not the reason for our troubles.
s0crates
There is no denying Musgrave made a big difference in Brunell's comfort level.

TheGreek1973
oh come on please. How did Musgrave help Brunell during the 49 yards passing against the Bucs in the playoffs. We made the playoffs last year because Portis and the D got us there. If not for that we would have lost the Arizona game and the Philly game for sure so in otherwords we would have been 8-8 at best. When we tried to win the game against Oakland in our house with Brunell guess what happend ....we lost it. This guy suck and JGibbs is blind to it. He has sucked ever since day one as a Skins QB.
