I'm joining this mans church immediately

I don't mean to generalize but Rev. Al Sharpton talks about how these preachers are getting "brand new". (Black ) Baptist churches have been known to have plenty of (in the closet) gay men who are active members/participants (the choir director, the piano player, etc.).

Hell, during a temp assignment, there was a guy who seemed openly gay (mannerisms and talked about his boyfriend) who adopted a boy and was very active as deacon in his church. I never asked if he was open to his church but he certainly seemed to live a full life without much animus directed towards him (from those in his life.)

Probably has something to do with the moron's and hypocrites that tend the run the church's. :)

Saying they are hypocrites, is like calling a parent who smokes one just because they don't want their kids to smoke.

You're name is interesting.

Do you have kids?

If so, or if you plan on it. Would you teach your son to have sex with multiple girls??

Well maybe you wouldn't at 10, but how about 12 years old? 14? 16? how about 18??

Now run that same question with a daughter, if you have one, or plan to have one.

Are you a hypocrite???

And how's that ass doing?? :silly:

I don't get your connection about smoking and hypocrisy.

You assume a lot of things about me based upon my screen name without knowing me.

And I am certain you are a homophobe...like most of you "church" people.

This is one of the oddest posts ever -

It sounds like you're giving church leaders carte blanch to do whatever they want, as long as they preach the dogma, and they won't be hypocrites.

Then, you assume that because another poster is named after a pornstar he leads that life? And would be a hypocrite to not want his daughter to sleep around???

You think I'm really a cowardly wizard?

Answer the questions, and then we will see who the hypocrite is.

You know...a really funny angle to this is how the son probably felt after this sermon. Was he there? Did he find out about it?

Do people just point at him and laugh now. I'd have crawled under the seat.

"Hey dad, I can't get a date to the prom because all the girls are lesbians!" :rotflmao:

I agree with the man on homosexual lifestyles, how does that translate to "it sounds like you're giving church leaders carte blanch to do whatever they want" ?

I didn't assume anything. I just asked him some questions in that post.

Am I not allowed to ask questions?

What kind of dogma are you pushing? That churches are bad???

Churchphobe? I have no fear of Church just a dislike of them.

bottom line - Church's are full of hypocrites and lots of times led by hypocrites. You really don't want me to make a list...do you...Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jim Baker...I can go on and on....or maybe my former next door neighbor who was a leader of a chuch youth group that is now serving time in the county jail for molesting 3 teenage girls, or the Rev. (married - two kids) of a local church that is sleeping with my co-workers friend (who is also married).

I don't need these type of people telling me how to live my life..and how I live my life is really no concern of yours.

Well I don't fear people who suffer from homosexual temptation, nor do I dislike them. I just think it's a bad lifestyle, and I'm labeled a "homophobe" by manipulaters.

All churches every where are led by hypocrites. Because they all do things they don't think is right, or think is wise.

Everyone sins, thus everyone is hypocrite.

Now some do go and break laws, that is a shame. But so do school teachers, parents, all types of members in society. Jeffery Domnor(?) was a gay serial killer, does that mean all people who live homosexual lives are serial killers??

No

Nor do all church leaders become child molesters, or break major laws like that.

Maybe you don't need a church to tell you how to live your life.

But you don't need to come on here and bad mouth churhces as a whole.

Because if you do, then I'll just toss those questions that you never answered back up in your face.

Maybe more should acknowledge this. Not to good for recruiting though. Or worse fund raising.

Huh?? Sinning does not make you a hypocrite. Acting above sinning and looking down on others, then you getting caught doing similar behaviour does.

Hypocrite - a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold

Ahhh, in that case I'm wrong. Church leaders are not hypocrites.

You stopped my statement to earlier - I said 'you would allow them to do whatever they want and not be considered hypocrites.'

You talked about him having sex with multiple women, just because of his screenname. That would mean you assume that since he took that name, he is like the porn star.

What kind of dogma are you pushing? That churches are bad???

Dogma? Me? I'll leave that to you religious people.

That's the definition I got.

But it's all good to me. I think that everyone sins, or most everyone, so in that sense we are all hypocrites.

I used a couple of examples in how parents are hypocrites.

But that doesn't mean the instution of parenthood is all wrong, or isn't any good.

Same goes with churches.

Churches help make this world a better place to live in. That's the bottom line.

I don't understand how, by any definition, sinning makes you a hypocrite. I've never held myself out as someone who free from sin.

I stated my opinion on how we are all hypocrites in one way or another.

Let him answer the questions then.

I'll ask you this.

Are all churches bad?

Or are all churches basicly good, but you just disagree with certian things?

Or is there a middle ground?

True :)

Had I been in his shoes (not gay but straight, :silly: ) I would have tried to take a lesbian couple to the prom. Even if you don't score, your still getting high-fives all night from those who don't know any better. Get them to dance and make out on the dance floor together, and everybody will think you've found a couple freaks!

I don't understand where you got the idea (at least from this thread) that i think churches are bad. Do I particularly like churches? No. Do I think they're all bad? No.

There is definitely a middle ground.

That second definition is what I am talking about.

That's how I have always thought the word was defined.
