I don't mean to generalize but Rev. Al Sharpton talks about how these preachers are getting "brand new". (Black ) Baptist churches have been known to have plenty of (in the closet) gay men who are active members/participants (the choir director, the piano player, etc.).

Hell, during a temp assignment, there was a guy who seemed openly gay (mannerisms and talked about his boyfriend) who adopted a boy and was very active as deacon in his church. I never asked if he was open to his church but he certainly seemed to live a full life without much animus directed towards him (from those in his life.)

(married - two kids) of a local church that is sleeping with my co-workers friend (who is also married).

Had I been in his shoes (not gay but straight, ) I would have tried to take a lesbian couple to the prom.
