OxonHillSkinsfan
Kuehn is from Sterling, attended Potomac Falls High School...fell under the radar for the big school because of lack of help from high school coaching staff for promotion to DI programs. However, was All-Met in Football and Soccer and Virginia MVP in Super 44 allstar game....on a side note Greg was elated to see Nick Novak excel because he felt he outperformed Novak in joint workouts at such camps at 4th Down Sports Great info guys. Just out of curioustiy, where'd u hear all this from?

airborneskins
If Hall gets injured again I will personally start the John Hall is a p**** club. Suck it up John! Perhaps you are forgetting that J.H is the only kicker that I have seen that will go after a returner and actually lay a good hit on them. He is scared to hit no-1.. I believe though that this may have had something to do with his unjury.

CaliforniaSkin
on a side note Greg was elated to see Nick Novak excel because he felt he outperformed Novak in joint workouts at such camps at 4th Down Sports He may have felt he outperformed Novak in workouts but he sure didn't in games. Nick had about a 75% average on field goals in college compared to Greg's 66%. They were nowhere close in game ability. Now if this guy can kick touchbacks and we have the roster space it might be a possibility but I can't see him challenging Hall for PK duties. F Landry
A KOS that can routinely boot touchbacks is more valuable than a 10th lineman. As someone else said, if you're down to using your 3rd string linemen your probably ****ed anyway. OMG! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT! I love you, man... I was so sick and tired of hearing these people literally obsessed with O-Line depth, even after we signed some depth. Oh, you made my day... :notworthy
spm
I doubt Kuehn gets drafted with 66% career accuracy. A good NFL kicker has around 80% accuracy. =
TheDirtbags
If we put RE as our #3 QB we could carry an extra kicker for kickoffs. We already have Todd Collins....
jivelikenice
2nd kicker is a bad idea. With rosters so limited in who you can keep active we CAN'T waste two spots on a kicker. If Hall can't get the job done we need to move on.
kevinklein
And he won't be drafted?
TLusby
We already have Todd Collins.... I am aware of that! Just a suggestion as I didn't sign him. I know he's here to help Campbell since he knows Saunders system. I just always thought that one of Spurrier's brighter moments was only carrying two QB's. RE could be the #3 as well as the #3 WR and KR/PR.

lovetoaster
Hughes didnt even handle the kickoffs at UVA, did he? I believe you are correct, Kurt Smith handled most, if not all of the kickoff duties.

Stew
I almost wouldn't mind keeping a 2nd kicker just for kick-offs to keep Hall healthy. Keep 2 nothing. I hope with every fiber of my being that we keep this guy and show Hall the door. This will be the second diamond in the rough to come along, and it will be a huge let down for Hall to be the reason we lost Novak and possably this guy. Hall is not what we need. We dont need an injury prone kicker that takes up 2 roster spots (His injured *** and his replacements roster spots) that we pay over a million a year for. Overpaid and injury prone. I think we cut him, and save a mil for another free agent.
wsniper1
And to the poster who said that Hall can't hit a 30 yarder, his miss against Seattle was his first miss from inside 40 in 3 years. His health is an issue but accuracy is not. Well if you go back and comprehend my post, I said Hall can't make kicks from the 30... Not a 30yd kick. Since we are spewing info: 30yd line +7yd back + 10yd end zone = 47yd kick Hall hasn't made a 47yd+ kick since 2003(week 13 N.O.).
stwasm
Let the kicking competition begin! I was uncomfortable going into this off-season with just Hall. I like him, but how healthy is he really? Good move by the staff.

In D-III, there are a lot of variables to factor in to that FG%--blown snaps, improper placement on the hold, line penetration, etc.--than in D-1 schools. I don't doubt that someone on the staff has done the homework in the video room, & came to the conclusion that there's promise with this kid. Accuracy varies from year to year with any kicker (just play fantasy football & you know that), and college success/lack of success is not the sole indicator of kicking success in the NFL. bobzmuda
This guy looks to be a kickoff specialist because his accuracy isn't very good just going off his FG made to FG attempted ratio. Also, college kickers look to have stronger legs on kickoffs because they get to use their own soccer-like balls. NFL K balls aren't as round as flexible as college kicking balls and travel less distance.
ouvan59
You just make that stat up?? Nope Nick Novak was 80-107 in his Maryland career which is 74.8% Greg Kuehn was 59-89 in his W&M career which is 66.3%
skinswin
We need to sign this kid. We have to improve our special teams play and the kickoffs is a major concern.
