be carefull about current skins too. No one knows what will happen. I mean now we all have to burn or lavar jerseys so unless you like setting little dogs aflame...

I thought about that and as much as I like Cooley I can't tie it to the past. All my short list names are not soley related to current players.

I can't believe Dee Gee didn't make your first cut. Say it a few times. It works.

Plus, it will make a great name story about a classic footballer.

You have to stay away from current players, that goes without saying. :logo:

Good luck either way, cute pup.

In about 5 weeks I will become the mom of a female toy fox terrier. Now I know from reading the one thread that my search turned up that the men of ES like the big, manly type of dogs but I am a woman so I can have a woman's dog (I also have a jack russell terrier and siberian husky).

From my research I've learned that fox terriers are intelligent, loyal, quick and think they are big dogs. They also have the terrier trait of intimidation (should be quite the show down between her and my jack russell).

Anyway, I'd like to give this little girl a Redskin related name but I'm not very creative. The only thing I've come up with so far is Smurf but only a true Redskin fan would get that connection.

One thing I've noticed in my four months of reading the posts on here is that the ES community is a very creative one so I'm hoping you can give me some ideas.

Thanks and HTTR

I haven't decided on a name yet but my short list (in no particular order) includes:

Gibby

Hailey

Taylor

Charley

Josie

Jurgy

Sammi

Awww, what a cute puppy! :) I was thinking that Charley would be a cute name, but does that work well for a female puppy?

I like DG and Darrell Green is one of my all time favorite Redskins but for some reason it's hard for me to say. It doesn't roll off the tongue quite right.

Thank you! I think Charley would be ok for a little girl puppy but I'll probably be correcting people all the time that it's a "she" and not a "he".

Let her pick her own name. My hound (signature) is named Gibbs but he chose that name. At five months old he ran through my house and slid to a stop in front of my TV and watched the entire Joe Gibbs press conference. He stared at the TV hence why his name is now GIBBS. We were only fostering him at that point but with a hound like that we had to adopt him. Also his favorite toy is his redskin smash mouth football and he loves to wear his jersey and watch anything redskin on TV. His favorite is still Joe Gibbs speaking.

Now that's a good dog :)

I'll keep that in mind. I'm so undecided at this point that she may have to give me a clue as to what she wants. Just a couple of more weeks and I'll be bringing her home.

You're welcome! :) You're probably right about having to constantly explain that the puppy is a girl, I agree, but somehow "Charley" just seems really cute! :)
