jmich001
I have actually heard rumors that the Redskins are still evaluating QB options??
Waleo32
Aaron Brooks is a good quarterback! He was in a tough situation. Last year! Horn was hurt, Deuce was hurt, and the D sucked. Every other year he did his part look at the stats but the team just sucked. Brooks is a sweet QB. People hate to hate! Who would you really rather have if JC is not ready yet, Brooks or Brunell. And really be serious! But Brooks ain't coming here he's going to be a Raider!
Zen-like Todd
BTW, Sean Jones is under contract.
visionary
So we're going to spend money on a (in his eyes) starting caliber QB? Is Brunell going to give up his entire contract then? LOL, this is silly, unless they are planning on cutting Collins, and either Brunell or Campbell is a lot worse than we have been led to think. Even then it makes little sense to sign Brooks. Besides Brooks is not a Gibbs QB, he makes way too many bad decisions.
TheDane
Hmmmm....something's rotten in the state of Denmark...er, uh Virginia I would like to debunk this rumor. Everything is fine in Denmark, thank you very much.
frommd
I doubt we get Brooks, but I'm surprised by all the people on here saying we don't need him. Everybody has been saying quarterback is the only question mark on this team. Still, I don't think he's coming here. I could definitely understand the interest on both the team's and his part. We have a ton of weapons and a great coaching staff. This guy has a lot of talent, that hasn't always translated to the field. I think these coaches could get the most out of him. stwasm
Brooks is known for his horrible decision-making more than anything else. That isn't the system, that's the quarterback. There are much more competent QBs out there if we REALLY NEEDED another one.
SittingBull
Aaron Brooks himself asked for directions to Ashburn and no one from the organization is escorting him there? Riiiiiiiiiiiight......
Drex
Brooks is one of the most physically gifted throwers in the league. He has mobility and can throw the football a mile. His decision-making ability is questionable but from a physical standpoint, he has all of the tools. I think he ends up in Oakland, where he probably has a better chance of winning the starting job. However, if he were to end up in D.C., there would not be alot of complaining from me.

Yea, that is weird but why the hell would this guy just make something up. That would be border line insanity.
bnacpa
This may be a move regarding the 3rd string position. Todd Collins signed and has a 450k signing bonus I believe ... not that much when you think about it. So if they are not so sure about this 35 yr old QB who hasn't played in 6 years or so ... then this would be the smart move ... bring in Brooks and see what he can do. If he impresses Gibbs, Saunders, and Lazor, then sign him if affordable and let the best talent prove themselves in the offseason workouts and training camp. Whoever doesn't make it (aside from Campbell due to significant investment) is the odd man out. The only reason why this doesn't make sense to me is IF Campbell has been informed by the coaches that he is clearly the #2 this year. I am not sure that Gibbs has annoited anyone with any title aside from Brunell. But IF Campbell is the #2, then I doubt Brooks would settle for a 3rd string role considering he has been a starter for so many years.

gortiz
Yea, that is weird but why the hell would this guy just make something up. That would be border line insanity. it would be pushing the brink of psychopathology . . .if this cat made this after saying he watched him eat breakfast, and heard him ask for directions, we have a very sick sick puppy on our hands. fdarugar
I think "shawn jones" is the name he used to gep it on the low...i looked him up and theres a Shawn Jones Db for cleveland.. but this guy was huge more than likely a lineman Just throwing this out there but the only real high profile linemen is Larry Allen and he is huge...I would be all for Aaron Brooks on this team BTW. The kid is untapped talent, :2cents:.

ntotoro
Who would you really rather have if JC is not ready yet, Brooks or Brunell. And really be serious! Ok. Brunell. If you could take Mark's head and put it on Aaron Brooks neck, you might be on to something. You can't do that, though, so I'll say Brunell 100 times out of 100. visionary
Gee, now this is really interesting...must be another Aaron Brooks though, I'm sure. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl "Packers | Team now interested in Brooks Wed, 22 Mar 2006 06:14:24 -0800 Bill Soliday, of the Oakland Tribune, citing the Wisconsin State Journal, reports the Green Bay Packers are interested in free agent QB Aaron Brooks (Saints). "Aaron (Brooks) is obviously on the list," said head coach Mike McCarthy, who was Brooks' offensive coordinator in New Orleans. "He's somebody we talked about. As far as Brett's (Favre) decision, yeah, you'd like to have it yesterday, no doubt about it. Obviously, the opportunity to sign quarterbacks is closing." If Favre does not return, and indications are he will be back, the Packers would be down to only one quarterback, QB Aaron Rodgers, on their roster." "Raiders | Team keeps Brooks over for a longer stay Wed, 22 Mar 2006 06:03:07 -0800 Bill Soliday, of the Oakland Tribune, reports the Oakland Raiders have extended their visit with free agent QB Aaron Brooks (Saints) another day.
