Compensatory Picks?

I don't think I even attempted to describe anywhere in my post how compensatory picks work....

Well, it was clear that you don't understand how it works. You don't look at Pierce and Smoot in a vacuum.

You put them on one side and all the free agents we signed on the other. Then you match them up by contract. Then you eliminate pairs until one side of the sheet has more.

If there is a deficit, you get picks.

If there isn't you don't.

We may get one pick. And it's probably for a special teamer.

...so in the end, you put all the free agents we lost + all the ones we signed into a magic formula, which will spit out either 7th or "Screw You, you signed too many good free agents...."

So we either get nobody or a waterboy?

I' mexpecting a 4th or 5th, mainly due to the performace of Pierce this past season....I read a while back where it said a lot had to do with how you replaced a player you lost at a particular position. For example we lost Pierce but we didn't go out and sign a replacement linebacker in free agency....We'll just wait & see....

The problem is, we had FA signings last year that offset our losses.

Our Free Agenty aquisitions last year were miniscule. (Patten and Rabach). We should get comp picks this year. (No way we get them next year though).
