SkinsNumberOne
Anyone have any suggestions? I am visiting someone I know over there, so I guess she should know stuff, but it seems like she doesn't. So, any advice? I know Warren Buffet is over there... is his house something to see? That's about all I know about Omaha.
Captain Chaos47
Eat. Steak. Outside of that, I'm not sure what to tell you. The SAC (strategic air command) museum is there if you are into military history.

mbraun2
Rosenblatt Stadium is home to the Royal's AAA affiliate and also the College World Series. And I second the steak suggestion, its the place to go for steak you can cut with your fork.

They have some sort of zoo there. I certainly wouldn't be going at all if not for this girl. She and I became kind of close after her visit last year. Besides you can always find your usual movie theatres, bowling alleys, etc.

She's at Offutt.* Is Warren Buffet's house something to see? I guess either not or no one here knows. I figured since he's the second richest guy according to Forbes it might be something... I know on tours of Ft. Lauderdale all of Huizenga's property was big on the tour (but then he owns so much stuff there)...

28rdsknsfn28
If you have never been to the mid west you also need to take a drive out to the country. You won't believe the wide open spaces. A friend of mine from my service days from Tennesse could not believe how big the farms are here.

Thanks! Yeah, she has mentioned that she went to a casino in Council Bluffs before. That's pretty cool. The zoo sounds awesome, and I like the sound of those museums. The Smithsonian museums are awesome, but those that you are naming sound pretty regionally relevant - stuff you wouldn't find at the Smithsonian. Any particular place I should check out (e.g. restaurant)?
28rdsknsfn28
Depends on what you like and how much you want to spend. The Old Market has lots of variety. Upsteam and Jobber's Cahyon are brew pubs.
