CapitalDefense
Carter will be a DE, no question!!!! 1.He had his best year as a pro, 2002 12.5 sacks playing DE. Nolan put in his new defense last year(the Ravens defense). Which was making them a 3-4 front, moving Carter to OLB. Not to many guys can play LB effectively in this league weighing 270 pounds, you certainly do not want him being matched up 1 on 1 with a RB or WR. 2.When he left Redskins park yesterday, he was escorted to the car by Greg Blache. Blache told him I hope we see you back here. Blache wanted this guy to play on his DL, and we got him.
Peregrine
He was so effective as a DE compared to a LB id love to see him as a DE... but I agree if Abraham is signed, I expect to see him play LB.
NavyDave
Why cant both play DE?
Newera
Carter is the perfect type of Greg Williams player. Versitle. Decent pass rusher. Can play both DE and/or linebacker. If he had a twelve sack year with the Niners early in his career, he could flourish in our scheme. Williams has been excellent in identifying players to play his scheme. I don't know if he's missed with anyone. Remember he inhereited Lavar. And, he turned Antonio Pierce into a solid player. Damn, we should have kept that dude. Oh well . . . Even Gibbs admits that now.
shallyshal
Is he taking over at LB or DE? the "elephant" like charles haley.. right defensive end, part linebacker, general hell raiser and turnover causer... gonna be exciting to watch... what is burned in my memory is the niners game from 2 years ago. carter positively torched samuels. maybe chris' ankle was bothering him and maybe not.. but only simeon rice has burned samuels that badly as carter did that game. he was simply awesome
Art
We're not getting Abraham. And, Carter is a defensive end.
REDMAN7
From what I've read, LB is not his natural position. The article said he thrives when playing right DE. He had 12.5 sacks a couple of years ago.
