Do you guys believe in a personal hell?

Like whatever bugs you the most, say spiders. Your hell would involve a lot of spiders crawling all over you and such?

Hell is the Lake of Fire. Eternal torment. God's not twisted like that. Hell is like being thrown out with the garbage so to speak, into the incerator.

I'm totally being serious here.

What is Satans purpose in hell?

God is the one throwing out the garbage, he throws you into hell(correct)?

Where does Satan come in?

Try reading the Bible. It's got lot's of wonderful scientific facts and adventure stories in it. Seriously.:)

I tried at one point. I also read parts in school.

It's hard to get into it when you dont believe in god.

I have heard there are some kickass stories in it though.:)

I guess for me its like after you're born again, you start to see the lack of spirtualness in secular media. I still like old school rock like Def Leppard and such, but I prefer Newsboys now, because they sing about the Lord. Makes me feel closer I guess.

As Christians, it is important that we don't shelter ourselves from the world. Just don't become worldly, keep your eyes on what's to come.:point2sky

I guess I can understand that. It just seems to me like escapism to me. I don't think God wants you to close your eyes to the world he asks only that open your heart to the Lord. Too often it seems like Christians seek to seperate themselves from reality instead of doing as commanded and attempt to make it better.

Sorry another agnostic here! I might know this one.

I think Satan is there to seduce and such - make sure people end up in Hell. I think his base of operations is here on Earth mostly, not in Hell. I could be wrong though.

ZGuy28,

Just wanted to say thanks for the offer to read you work. Sometimes on here we all get a little carried away and forget that there are real people behind the screen. Wether I agree or disagee with your point of view I do respect your right to it.

I don't know If I'll agree or disagree with some or all of your paper, but I appreciate the opportunity to get your perspective. I'm always looking for new verifiable facts where ever they may come from.

I don't really do Christian reads and the such - though I did read much of the Left Behind series. Stopped after the books slowed down and it felt like they were just trying to stretch the story as much as they could to make more best sellers.

This does however bring up a good question. Why do some Christians surround themselves with purely "Christian" things? Suddenly popular music is replaced, reading choices as well, etc etc. I'm a Christian and have never felt the need to give up popular artforms.

To be honest I never read christian fictional books... I just can't get into them. When a "christian" movie comes out I'll go see it, but most are 2nd class movies when it comes to hollywood. I'm a musician and I do 95% of my work in contempory worship to God. That is my passion is to express my love toward God in music form.

I don't think we as christians should do strickly "christian" things... Because I don't think all things are bad. As long as it doesn't go against my christian convictions I'm pretty much game.

Haven't had much time lately. Been doing alot of reading for school though, Southeastern Baptist Seminary. I recommend "Understanding the Bible" by John Stott for any Protestant Christian. The last good book I read was "How to bring your children to Christ, and keep them there" by Ray Comfort. Excellent book and what he says works too. My kids are not saved yet but their behavior is a lot better since they started learning the 10 commandments. Another great one from Comfort is "God doesn't believe in Atheists". I almost convinced Chomerics to read it too, but he read an excerpt and backed away.

Have you checked out my way of the master link in my sig?

I love that program.

Like I said in the other " Fellow Christians" thread, people are getting sick of hearing about the prescribed method. I've answered the front door no less than 50 times in my life to this Bible thumping exclusivity non-sense.

You figure that once you let them know that you're already a Christian, they'd get off my porch, but no......I have to hear why my faith isn't Christian enough.

Most likely those are jehovah witness and mormans and they are not christians

Are you kidding, I teach that in Sunday School. My Church is starting to get on fire again. We use that on the street whenever we can. I've even got some video of us doing it. It truly is a lost art so to speak.
