webdev71
Thiesman has picked the Cowboys to beat the 'skins! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/features/talent
diesel22
Hate to bring this info, but Mark Schlereth "aka Stink" just said that our injuries to our DBs would be too much to overcome......have to admit it bothers me more than some of the other analysts picking against us. This guy is a HOG for Gods sake !! :dallasuck
Grimm
I don't like this guy, he seems to consider himself more of a Bronco than a Hog.
ntotoro
He has to say we'll lose, otherwise Garlic & Greenbean will call him a homer. Besides, I always think of him as a Bronco, not a Hog. Everyone picked Dallass to steamroll us the first time around. They were wrong then, too.
sknsrbck26
Well who cares what he thinks because we will win and he will say " That was stupid to pick the Cowgirls"
diesel22
Yea -- I like our chances too. But I do consider stink a hog -- he was a member of the best team we ever fielded -- and NO ONE got to Ryp that yr. He might as well have been setting up behind the great wall of China !!! :dallasuck
seniorskin
On ESPN's Mike and Mike show, Kasilias, Woodson and Mark Schlereth all picked Dallas to win straight up.
ntotoro
I don't think one person picked us to beat them in Week 2.
Walking Deadman
I think it's good we are the underdog.....we play better when nobody thinks we'll win (except us)
johnjack
One thing to consider is that I heard him say the other day(while hosting the Mike and Mike Show) that when the Redskins let him go, in essence they were telling him that he couldn't play anymore in the league. That seemed to bother him. He indicated that neither the Broncos nor Redskins have called him to see how his body feels these days, and he understands that. He said he now fully understands that you are in essence giving up your body and health when playing professional football. Now after having said all that, I did still detect that there was a little more animosity there towards Washington having let him go so early in what untimately turned out to be his career. I consider him a Bronco, and I believe he would too. All in all, it doesn't matter one bit. :2cents:

gonefishing
I saw that too on ESPN this A.M. Gibbs likes it when we are not huge favorites. If he wants to be the underdogs...We are ranked above Dallas in the FOX "Power Rankings" The Post has Washington as 3 point favorites! Home field advantage baby! Be Loud! WE WANT DALLAS! mcarey032
Mark is not a redskin. I really don't give much credence to what the talking heads of ESPN say. I think that they have too much time to talk on the air to say anything worth a darn.

scrol14
I don't know about the rest of you but I would rather go into the game a underdog. Which is basically what we are b/c you usually get 4points for home team. I think being underdog helps the team a little, it puts a chip on their shoulder. I understand people pointing to the fact that you get 3-4 points for home field...but in putting the line together, alot of factors are taken into consideration...injuries, weather, home field and most of all "public perception". Believe it or not, "the line" has NOTHING to do with who is supposed to win or who is even a better team...it has to do with the "betting public" and the "betting public" ONLY. The Sportsbook simply want the "betting public" to wajer equal money on both sides. A person lays $110 to win $100...2 people take each side of the bet. The "house" has $220 of bettors money and only pays back $210. As long as the put a pointspread out there that will get even money bet, the sportsbooks are happy. Vegas IS NOT in the business of gambling...they let the public do that. The fact that the Skins/Boys game has been at 3 points all week, shows that the public is continueing to put equal money on each side.

Everything you said is true, vegas does only want equal betting on each side, thats why the spread moves up and down, its always in an effort to get more betting on the side that is down at the moment. But the Redskins being a 3 point favorite does mean Vegas expects the Redskins to win. By Vegas giving the Cowboys 3 points they are saying that still half the people betting think the Redskins will win the game by more than 3. If Vegas didn't think the Redskins were going to win they would have Dallas at -3 and use that as a means to get people to take the Redskins who would be getting 3 points. Does this mean anything really? No not really, but yes Vegas does think the Redskins will win this game.

TheMalcolmConnection
Why does everyone keep saying we're the underdog? We're at HOME for one, and for two we are almost identical stat-wise.
