That's funny!

I bought my E Machines PC for 500$ at C.City, without a moniter.

It has a DVD burner, 512mb RAM, 3.3 ghz.

I bought it a year ago.

This is what I suggest.

Get a PC with numbers similar to those. Even less if the price is right.

If you shopped around you could find a good used PC for far less. Or a new one for $400.

Then buy a Xbox 360 for 400$.

It's better than a highend PC, and has none of the headaches.

Dell makes some gaming machines these days and not all of them are tricked out and super pricey.

My advice would be to build your own. Not only will doing so instantly put you ahead of most people in terms of working knowledge of computers, but if you are smart you can put together a good machine for less money. This option is clearly not for everyone.

Yea that's what I did, I ordered all of the components and built mine, paid about 600 total for something that would of cost over 1000 if I ordered it as a whole...i'm thinking of things to do now to upgrade it :D

Seriously, with prices like on that website, it's like they are stolen. Those computers are INSANE.

Only problem with Cyberpower is their mediocre Reseller Rating: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6897.html

You forgot to include what your price range was because now I'm gonna recommend going with Voodoo and Falcon Northwest, even if they are horribly priced.

Holy crap those are some bad reviews. The one thing you don't want to hear when thinking of buying a PC is hardware problems, and not only are there a lot of them listed on that site but they all seem to be very similar. Looks like Cyberpower is using bad parts and judging by their crappy customer service, they know it and don't care.

Alienware? No. If this were 5-6 years ago Alienware would be one of the best places to buy a prebuilt computer. Now their quality has really dropped off since they decided they wanted to expand their market.

If you don't need a fancy looking computer take a look at these sites:

http://www.ecspc.biz/

http://www.kc-computers.com/

http://www.pugetsystems.com/

http://www.abspc.com/

All of these sites have a Reseller Rating of 9 or better. The first two have a rating of 10, the highest you can get.

Those prices are really good! Anyone have one of those? There has to be a catch somewhere....

I built 6 full blown gamers through Cyberpower this last year. Not one of them has had a single problem.

If you decide to go with one they have pre-built and put a lower price tag on it, it's on you for not using the quality parts. There is a drop down for every part down to the IDE cables.

I can't speak on the customer service as I have not had to use their service one time.

I have read a few bad reviews, however I have not had any problems to speak of.

My dad wants Me to try to find a good Dell, HP, Compact, or IBM.

He doesnt want to take a risk with some of the lesser kown companys.

(Thanks for the help so far guys)

Dell makes gaming systems. Just make sure you get one that has a good video card and 1gig of RAM. Both of those are needed to makes sure you can play whatever game you want.

Show him this link and let him read the reviews: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1867.html

Then show him these links:

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller_info.pl?seller_id=2092

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller_info.pl?seller_id=1595

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1537.html

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1431.html

You're taking more of a risk buying from Dell, HP, or Compaq. HP and Compaq make horrible desktops.

IBM doesn't know the meaning of the word "gaming."
