  1. I think we should give Martin a chance. Atleast he's a true center. Schweitzer obviously isn't. He played well at center last season for us, at times. However vs Phi, his snaps were located poorly and he got abused like the rest of the oline. I hope Matsko, Turner, and company figure out a good plan for Dallas. Not only is Micah Parsons a monster but DLaw woke up last Monday night and had 3 sacks vs nyg. We better have a plan to atleast slow those two dudes down some.
  2. Are you referring to Norwell and Turner? They played. They got curbstomped. It's a small sample size and I'm hoping they turn it around. However, currently it looks like they were horrendous choices to replace Scherff and Flowers.
  3. 99% of people saying they don't care but the gameday threads say something entirely different. They are full of anger, rage, sadness, etc. Lol.
  4. Hey, Ty Nsekhe is available. He was once our best backup offensive lineman. Someone we thought could start on several teams. Basically what Cornelius Lucas is now. Maybe we should bring Ty in...speaking of Lucas, why isn't he getting playing time? I have way more confidence in him than Cosmi right now. Or any other lineman, the way they're playing currently. The Ravens are bringing Nsekhe in for a visit, by the way. Maybe he can visit us next ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  5. I'm not upset at all. I said I was glad for that. I just added that he had int opportunities that he didn't take advantage of. I'm still happy he did a really good job in coverage.
  6. Why is it malarkey? Ron appears to be worse at playing GM than Bill Belichick and that's saying something. Maybe just being head coach is exactly what Ron/the team needs. They aren't interested in turnovers, inexplicably. They settle for deflections. St Juste played well ( and I'm glad for that ) but he had 2 or 3 int opportunities if he simply turns his head around and/or makes an aggressive play on the ball. None of our players do that. No ambition for turnovers whatsoever.
  7. Another bad start to a season. The all too familiar 1 - 2 record. Despite the schedule makers seemingly doing us a favor. I'm losing faith in Ron Rivera. He ignored the linebacking issues. He ignored the cornerback issues. Someone like Wildgoose shouldn't have to come into a game just because we are down one measley cb. It's inexcusable. Spending 7th rounders on db's isn't working. Norwell and Turner are slow footed, old and haven't been good in recent years. They can't pull or get out on screens worth a crap. They appear to be hideous replacements for Scherff and Flowers. They're getting manhandled. Cosmi and Leno are struggling as well. I honestly have zero confidence in Ron fixing this. I was hoping we'd FINALLY be good and start off 3 - 0 or 4 - 1 or 5 - 2. It's not happening. It practically never, ever does with this team but hey we'll win 4 in a row in late October and the beginning of November. Then go on a slide again and miss the playoffs yet again. I've seen this movie before and I hate it.
  8. I suppose you are right but this defense and it's ineptitudes really shouldn't be debatable. Stevie Wonder can see all of the issues. The ones I mentioned in my original post. Now more thumbs down by people who know durn well I'm right and they even agree with my obvious critiques of the defense. Oh well, I have better things to do than this crap. I'm out.
  9. Why is it, that seemingly almost every game for years and years, our injury report is much worse than the opposition's?? Seems like every week we're missing very important contributors and the other team is in pretty good shape. Very frustrating.
  10. Now there are 4 thumbs down to my post, inexplicably. I care too much? It just doesn't make sense. I know football. Been die hard for 4 decades. I especially know Washington football like the back of my hand. Everything I said is indisputable. Thumbs down = what you said is wrong and ludicrous. However that's not true. What I said is factual. Now a bunch of other people have hit thumbs down too. Either I'm the only one here that understands the problems with this defense or a bunch of childish, immature children are thumbs downing it for no reason ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  11. Umm how did this get a thumbs down? LOL. Unbelievable. I dare anyone to tell me what I said that was even REMOTELY false...
  12. This defense is so frustrating. We never seem to fly to the ball. Never seem to gang tackle anyone. Never seem to get batted balls from the dline, by simply raising their arms when they can't get to the qb. We never seem to rip at the ball, as the ball carrier falls to the ground ( after the tackle is all but guaranteed ) Our secondary seems to go for pass deflections when an int is possible. I just can't stand the complacency. Even if our D is below average with talent, speed, etc, so be it. Too late to change that during the season. However if you go all out to force turnovers, it would help our defense and offense. It would massively increase our odds of winning ballgames.
  13. We know that at best, we are an average defense. That's a stretch but we'll go with it. However, if we focused more on attitude and ballhawk stuff, it would help immensely. Why does it seem like our players are always satisfied with making a tackle? I watch other defenses, going all out every play. Doing the lawnmower pulling move or whatever you want to call it. Where they violently rip at the ball. We friggin never do that kind of stuff. We also don't seem to get our hands up on the dline. This simple maneuver leads to tipped balls. Tipped balls lead to easy interceptions. Forcing turnovers would be huge for a defense that is otherwise underwhelming.
  14. I didn't realize that Schweitzer fully practiced yesterday. That's great. Now if he can do it again today, then he's probably good to go. I really want him to replace Roullier at center. Atleast until Tyler Larson becomes available in week 5. Then may move Schweitzer back to guard. Wes is underrated. I really appreciate that dude.
  15. Yea, what else is new? Every year, it seems that we lack cap money. Just another frustrating aspect to being a Washington fan.
  16. Apparently Coach Rivera has an obsession with young and cheap players. Whether they are actually good at football, well that's far down the list of prerequisites ๐Ÿคจ
  17. I hate when people say " you should change teams. " That's not how this thing works. We're die hard fans. We will bleed burgundy and gold til the day we die. No matter how many tears or nutkicks we have to endure. We don't even have a choice. It is what it is.
  18. I hope the turnovers slow down considerably. Four in two games is too many. However, I'm pretty happy with Wentz thus far. I know the first half at Detroit was awful but he had like 1.5 seconds or less to find someone and get rid of it. I hope the pressure/drama of the Philly game doesn't get to him mentally. He and our great wr's are practically our only chance. I hope John Matsko can get the oline ready and do a much better job than they did last Sunday. Missing Schweizer hurt but that's no excuse for the 6th ranked oline ( according to pff ) to get absolutely obliterated. I still can't believe the magnitude of the ineptitude that I witnessed in that game. Never thought it could be quite as atrocious as that first half was.
  19. Most think we'll lose to Philly for sure. They're probably right. However I think the Dallas game is more pivotal. We will most likely need that game in order to be 2 - 2. Which is not great but it's not bad either. I think Jerry Jones is full of crap again. I don't think there is any chance Dak plays that week. However whether it's a brought back too soon Dak or Cooper Rush, we really need a victory. Starting 1 - 3 ( assuming a PHI loss ) would be terrible and the same frustrating garbage that we always deal with. I'd love to shock the Eagles but realistically we need to beat Dallas in week 4.
  20. Jahan did that same beautiful move and cut inside, twice in the first two games. Surely the Eagles see it on tape. I think this Sunday, he should do the exact same move but this time, cut outside instead of inside. The db ( remembering film ) would immediately bite and take an inside step. At that point, he'd be cooked already. A decent pass and Jahan catches it for another touchdown! Woohoo! Yeehaw!
  21. He's currently my starter because I benched Joe Burrow, due to his struggles. Carson had around 27 - 28 points each of the first two games. Mainly due to touchdown passes and passing yards. I hope he keeps it up. Would be nice for the D show up, and we start racking up wins.
  22. Blake Martinez visiting the Ravens. Makes sense. No reason to visit the Commanders, right? Our linebackers are phenomenal ๐Ÿ™„
  23. He's been so awful. It's downright stunning to me, how a top 5 shutdown cb ( his ranking by many outlets while in Cincy ) can come here and look like absolute trash. This type of thing has happened here for 30 years. Are we just cursed or what? ๐Ÿ˜ข
