I'm high on Butler. I think he could push McCain for the starting job. Kid is a hard worker and has the tools. Fix his tackling and learn the defense and he's golden. But I agree, worst case scenario hes our starting FS 2023.

Since LB is completely gone except for Sanborn who I think we can get as an UDFA.... My priority guys are as follows JoJo Domann Markquese Bell Sterling Weatherford Smoke Monday. All could play Buffalo for us. Am I missing anyone @KDawg

We ran with a Buffalo nickel for over 70 percent of defensive snaps. Buffalo is not a made up position and we would be foolish to not address it. It's way more important than you're making it sound.

Right now our holes are: OL Depth LB Buffalo Nickel I'm super stoked with our draft I just worry about the defense now. Maybe we have a trade done in principal. Payne for an LB. That would make me happy.

Has Kevin Austin gone yet? If we can't get a LB or Buff Nickel then we might as well bring in competition for Cam Sims. I think Kevin Austin could beat him out actually. Might as well load the offense because LB and BN are a huge problem right now. No guarantee that the Honey Badger would even come here... And all the FA LBs suck fat ones. Banking on a good LB to be cut is dicey.

So let me get this straight. We traded this year's 5th last year for a long snapper, but we didn't feel trading next year's 5th was worth a linebacker this year? In what world does that make sense

I understand everyone is excited about Sam Howell... But we should be very concerned about Buffalo Nickel and LB. GAPING holes in the defense. Edit: Beavers to the Giants. God damn it man.

Most likely scenario: we take back to back offensive lineman and we hype up David Mayo as the green dot of our defense. Landon Collins scoffs at our attempt to get him to return. We are without a starting LB and Buffalo Nickel to start the season. Yikes. Not having one of those two positions settled is scary enough. Both is a serious problem. @KDawg... How do we solve?

the fact there was a run on Safeties after Butler makes me love the pick even more. Percy Butler could be a HUGE steal of this draft. Makes up for missing on Dax Hill. @KDawg cant wait til you dive into his tape. Wonder if we try to get cute here and drop down a few spots and pick up more late rounders to avoid the bidding war in UDFA like we did last year. Id rather stay put and draft LB or OL

Percy Butler S, UL Height: 6-0, Weight: 194 Explosive FS who will come down and lay the lumber. Missed tackles appear on film but he counters that with the ability to man the slot too, which is a huge plus to his game. Vertical speed to carry those routes deep downfield. Starting-caliber frame. (Chris Trapasso) We just got depth at Bobby McCains role at minimum, developmental replacement or immediate replacement best case scenario!
