  1. I’ve never liked the Seahawks. Even when they were new, they were annoying.
  2. As an Eagles fan, even I felt that that Kelce interview was cringeworthy. If I were a fan of the Panthers or Bears, I would have been annoyed as hell that for twenty minutes they were talking about another team rather than the two teams that were playing.
  3. When the official Philadelphia Eagles message board was shut down a couple years ago, they gave us only about two weeks notice. Within a half hour of the announcement, one of the members had already set up a site. Within days, enough of us pitched in enough money to actually get it going. Virtually identical to what we had had. (And very similar to this site actually). We lost a bunch of members in the transition but we eventually migrated most of the folks over. We're now almost self supporting with money coming in from Amazon links that were set up. If anything happens here, you might consider doing something similar, assuming you have people with significant computer expertise.
  4. I don’t think Wilson is ever going to be salvageable. He’s athletic and he has a really nice arm and can make some impressive passes, but he simply doesn’t process quickly and his pocket presence is abysmal. To make an analogy, he’s like that guy who can really shoot well when he’s practicing all alone and people watching him get all excited, but when you put him on a court with nine other guys, it all falls apart. Namath was right about him.
  5. Yeah, it’s great to watch the Giants implode. But we also don’t want to watch them implode tooooo much and wind up with a top three pick in the draft.
  6. Pat Shurmur was an interim head coach for the Eagles when they fired Chip Kelly, and he subsequently got the job with the Giants. It wasn't immediately however. It was a couple years later.
  7. Yup, I’ve been impressed by Levis. I think the job is his for good. BTW, has he always had that weird kind of sidearm delivery? This is really my first time watching him.
  8. A chip in a ball is never going to prove whether the ball was actually possessed by the offensive player when it crossed the goal line or hit the ground.
  9. Out of curiosity, did you ever participate on the old AOL football chatrooms? There was a female Redskins fan back then with a screen name similar to yours.
  10. Just did some quick research on this for my own amusement (I'm an Eagles fan, not a Washington fan). Since the start of the 2020 season, your opponents have made 93 out of 101 attempts (92.1%). The league average is generally around 85%. It was around 85% in '20 and '21 and 86% last year. It's at 87% this year. So yeah, you're right. Opposing kickers have been better than average against y'all. And two of the misses were from 58 yards out. When you also consider that you play home games outdoors on grass and in the Northeast where weather conditions can be far from pristine, it's fair to say that luck hasn't been on your side.
  11. I think the only people who thought Justin Fields was good were the ones who only watched his highlight plays. He actually looks good on those. And sometimes spectacular. But when you watch him actually play quarterback for any extended time, you realize he can't pass the ball with any consistency and you realize he isn't particularly good.
  12. I saw an alleged leak that has the Chiefs opening the season against the Lions.
  13. Yeah, pretty much. That was something the league initiated a couple of years ago. It didn’t used to be like that.
  14. I wonder if y'all are aware of the fact that Goedert's father was a big Cowboys fan and that's the reason he named his son Dallas. That's actually true.
  15. Regarding the Goedert pick by the Eagles. It wasn’t necessarily a best player available selection at the time, although in hindsight it might look like that because he’s pretty damn good. [Yes I’m an Eagles fan and season ticket holder for more than fifty years.] There was a definite need element to it even though Zach Ertz was still in his prime. The Eagles had employed a nice three man rotation at TE on the way to their Super Bowl the year before. It worked really well. But Brent Celek retired and Trey Burton signed with the Bears, so that rotation was essentially down to only one man. They absolutely needed another tight end. And they got lucky that the Dolphins picked the wrong tight end. And it’s true that they jumped ahead of the Cowboys to pick him, though the Cowboys denied an interest and seemed to legitimately prefer the offensive lineman they subsequently picked. I also sort of disagree with previous comments about the Eagles consistently picking BPA. That sure doesn’t seem true to me. They pretty much always pick the same positions in the first round. OL, DL, WR, and sometimes QB. They don’t pick RB, LB, S, TE, and they only rarely pick CB. The last time was in 2002. They ain’t picking a WR or QB in this year’s first round, so I’d be willing to bet that their first two picks will be linemen. I’d be stunned if they pick Robinson. It’s just not the way they do business. I guess my my point is that they’re not as BPA as many people seem to think. They target needs just as often as other teams do, it’s just that their interpretation of need is skewed toward linemen and wide receivers. And after years of trying and mostly failing, they’ve finally gotten the latter in order so it probably won’t be a first round target for about three more years...around the time that AJ Brown inevitably becomes a disgruntled nuisance and is sent on his way.
  16. I’m just thankful that my favorite team is no longer on this list.
  17. I have a friend who has worked for teams in the league for about thirty years, several of which were with a team where Shurmur coached. He told me afterwards that he considered him a “dullard”. I laughed when the Giants hired him as a head coach.
  18. Wilks went 3-13 in his one year with Arizona. Getting fired after that isn’t really a raw deal.
