sweet ride, good luck! I love a good grocery getter. Something like this or a Chevy pickup with the wood planks is on the bucket list.

It is about ****ing time rapid tests are reimbursed. Biden administration should have forced this the moment them took office. Rapid tests should have been the No. 1 thing they prioritized on top of vaccinations. PCR will not slow transmission rates.

If you don't know what's in it, at this point you're a ****ng idiot. And I hope people tell their friends that.

Have they finally found a reliable rapid test? Last I heard the false Negative/Positives made them pretty useless.

I agree, my question was always “how man shots have you had?” I remember them coming home with pus filled skin and not remembering half of what they got. It doesn’t add up to me

im only a navy spouse and they tried to give me FIVE shots in a single visit one time prior to overseas orders. I got them to agree to doing it over 2 visits.

    Lawyer here.  It depends.

Edit:  I got my booster last weekend.  I was under the impression that Moderna was the way to go since my originals were Pfizer.  I signed up online for a place that had Moderna shots.  I got to the place and filled out a form for Moderna.  I sit down, dude sticks the needle in my arm, then says "here's your Pfizer booster."

    ****er.

did you tell him you were a lawyer? Because what he did is a HUGE no no in medical treatment.

So, anyway, it's been put in my capable hands of saying to my future MIL "Hey, Mrs. Spiff is working late Tuesday night and so I'm bringing over dinner and let's hang, we haven't done that in awhile," and try to broach the subject with her.

I question this approach. Her mom, her talk. To each their own, but I feel her mom is her domain and will be received much better.

So...sorry for rambling, but that's what I'm dealing with.  Let me know if any of you have anything that's worked on changing the mind of a conservative Christian zealot who doesn't want to get vaxxed.

is the concern that she is vaccinated or covid negative? I would think the latter? Would a Covid test not give you piece of mind? Being fully vaccinated, we still got tested before a family gathering with grandparents and newborns. Even if vaccinated, and especially if not following other recommendations - likely a false sense of security.

The only time I’ve ever enjoyed Don Lemon, is when he was covering a protest and a tear gas cloud drifted down the street and onto the CNN crew.  Chris Cuomo has had his moments but he’s always been a smarmy wind bag.

You clearly never saw the NYE coverage then.

I remember a few years ago, he was in New Orleans on New Years Eve and he was TRASHED!  That was pretty enjoyable.

    Yes - that one.

Don isn’t bad when he is genuine. He tries way to hard (but doesn’t need too). these folks need to stop trying to outshine the news. Report the news, don’t be it.

  4. I am curious if this was a "I know my brother is innocent and I need to help him" or a "I know my brother is guilty AF and I need to do everything in my power to protect him".

The answer doesn't mean anything, except to satisfy my curiosity. The first option shows desperation and denial, the second malice and intent.

Personally, I never liked him once he left new day - it's like he thought moving to a primetime slot made him a Colbert or Leno. He tried way too hard and made himself the story all too often.

  5. 12 Hour Post-Booster Update (Pfizer, 7 months after initial series)

Injection site soreness, but much less than 1 or 2
No arm soreness, which I had for first 2

Fell asleep early, but busy day - so unable to tell if vaccine related or not.

A little tired this morning, but nothing major.

we chose to delay flu for 2 weeks as we typically feel cruddy after that, and didn’t want to have a double whammy.

main reason for booster was we travel to Florida in about 3 weeks for me to walk across stage for my MBA graduation….and Florida.

Pro tip:  The Monday/Tuesday before Thanksgiving is not the ideal day to drive from West Palm Beach to Richmond.

The Monday WPB to Savannah jaunt was manageable, if a bit crowded.  Left out of Savannah at 7:15AM this morning thinking I might get ahead of the holiday rush and slide into RVA around 1:30.  NOPE.

By 9:00 the mid Kakalaki I-95 wasteland was overflowing with packed to gills with minivans and RVs all competing to see who could go the slowest in the left lane.  Add in the lines at the gas stations, and a 6.5 hour drive turned into an 8.5 hour drive real quick.

On the upside, the Waffle House was delicious and the rest areas were very crowded and thus packed with dogs…which is nice.

    Time to pour a bourbon!

Warning, 95 once in VA lately….start drinking now. Well, don’t. But you know what I mean.

is this seriously what is in the comments section? This is one of those stories that I purposely avoid comments section. I would become physically ill to read that crap.

Sad to hear that people who were just out there celebrating in a parade have died. I want to know the motivation for something so heinous.

did you see the little girl in the pink jacket? That child would be sleeping in bed with me until she was 18 after that. That left me shook.

There’s lots of potential answers. The media keeps it in the rundown by throwing ideas out there. But that’s not really new. They do this **** constantly it’s SOP

I feel like the 2 source/3 source rule is no longer a thing for even the big name news sources. Which is terrifying. I noticed it a few years ago when I heard talking heads on CNN start using phrases like “multiple other news sources are reporting….” Thereby distancing themselves if it is not true - “we didn’t report it, we reported that others reported it”

Towards the end of the 3rd season of You.  This show gets better and better. I loved the first 2 seasons, but the 3rd is the best yet.

I was unimpressed by Squid Game. Maybe it was hyped too much

@TheGreatBuzz walked in on me watching a certain episode of season 3 and I had a lot of back story to fill him in on to convince him it was a psychothriller and not soft core porn. Hahahaha

    I love the You series.

Since I'm not sure if anyone has actually enlightened you, it's an obscure reference to a different discussion about family leave in the new proposed law, and the argument that it would be unfair to people without children. At some point the idea was floated that they could use it for things like elective surgery.

I'm sure your day is now much better for this knowledge, so you're welcome. 🙂

Actually, it’s a really sad person who never has anything but personal attacks and nonsense towards me. This goes years back, has no logical origin, and is the reason I left this forum previously. She’s the pure definition of a bully.

and I’m 99.9% sure I know what her issue is - but I refuse to hit below the belt.

Plus how are supposed to identify someone nowadays 😂 kidding but actually I guess it is a serious question

I literally just said this. When you add trans men or women to this scenario - it negates everyone’s pearl clutching default response.

“It’s never ok to hit a woman” is a over simplification.

do we all 100% agree with the sentiment? Of course.

but there’s much more to it.

Also - to any of you thinking it’s funny or acceptable to suggest that he would ever engage in this with me is disgusting. And unless any of you are female and have been in a relationship where violence was involved - shut your faces. Be better.

Um, yeah.  Obviously.  Blink twice if you need help.  Promise I wont tell.

Yes, obviously.  Since your so svelt just run away.  I think this whole "never hit a women" thing is right up there with "never sexually abuse minors" thing.  One of those little obvious rules I choose to live my life by.  Id say something trite like you do you, but nah....**** all the way off.

Times it’s ok to hit a women:

-when they refuse to hand over keys before getting in a vehicle to drive intoxicated.
-when they are about to drive their van full of their children into a lake

-when they are participating in child sex trafficking

-when they are actively assaulting someone else

….I can go on and on.

no one should ever physically abuse someone. However if I’m on a bus with 10 men and one female, and that female is attacking me - one of those men better step up and help.

  12. Maybe this is too simplistic - but I also equate some of what happened to a road rage response. How often do we hear stories about normal, non-violent folks going absolute bonkers because someone cut them off on the highway? This caveman (or women) response of totally out of proportion reaction that in no way is aligned with the prior chain of events.

Again, I repeat, no one made good decisions that day. 2 people lived to talk about it, but just as easily could have been the reverse - and we’d have a completely different narrative going. “Rioters kill parametric and child”.

I guess you never heard of two wrongs do not make a right. The protestors were already there. He had a choice to not add to it. He added to it then killed two people. This whole well they did it too bull**** is just that, bull**** to hide a very stupid and morally bankrupt decision. It was not his place to come play cop. If he sat his ignorant ass home than several families would not be missing members over the holiday.

And yes, despite the right wing rhetoric while here was some violence, for which there is no excuse, there was ALSO peaceful protesting going on. This constant making it all one thing or the other is another load of bull****.

The thing is, we were already post “two wrongs”. We were at least up to the third if not fourth “wrong” at this point.
