  1. Per article

"I asked why they didn't just call me and ask me before intruding. One of the girls responded that fear took over her body and she felt compelled to search my room until she found proof. … I cannot make this up.”

that doesn't sound like keeping it secret. That seems like she was minding her own damn business and legally owning a gun while not waving it around like a gangbanger.....

I believe that is called responsible gun ownership?

The nuance that you are missing is that the landlord didnt kick her out. The other tennants did. All of you references are about the landlord.

Because contract is between landlord and tenants (either collectively or 1:1) it generally follows that a co-tenent can not evict another co-tenent. Same reason why in most leases each tenant is solely and wholey responsible for full rent to be paid and not actually just a portion.

Don't think you can do that in this case, even if I get your point.  A gun is made specifically to kill people, so that's not the same as finding a bottle of liquor, drugs, or anything like that.  This day in age, where people are flipping and killing people left and right, if someone doesn't want another person with a gun in their house, I feel that should be respected.

Wait, so legally owning a gun which is legal is now less acceptable then illegally owning crack and having crack illegally in your posession?!?!?!

    I'm so confused!

  4. Here's a big difference between Trump and Obama using tear gas.

Obama wasn't simultaneously screaming into the atmosphere that South of the Border folks were evil, bad, and dangerous.

Yes there are some neccessary tactics needed to protect the borders.

Let's say your 12 year old cat needed to be put down. There's a reason you humanely take it to the vet, instead of snapping its neck yourself.

It's not just the act, but the rhetoric behind it with this whole immigration thing.

If that made no sense, blame the dayquil.

  5. I cant decided

1 - if muellers team is rockstar and used manafort as a pawn in their game to be a mole to trump

2 - if muellers team were idiots and just got played, and this witness now has no credibility and they just got played.

3 - if, rather, both sides have the IQ of a tennis racket

......hm....I wonder what our new country's anthem will be.....

  6. I believe the point that you guys are talking past each other is what the result of the FBI's investigation would be. It is my understanding that if the WH asks the FBI to investigate, the result would be a "memo" or some sort of literature. It would not yield a court case, lead to potential conviction or sentencing. A background investigation results in a finding not a ruling of guilty/innocence.

  7. From what I'm "hearing", the 2nd allegation isn't a similar allegation. It appears to be some private part antics @a party (yes, there is a difference). But of course we'll have to wait until the actual allegation comes out. And not just a story that someone knows someone who was told by someone that it happened to someone.

Again, not taking away from her and her truth. But let's make sure there is an actual correlation between the 2nd person, and not just a "his penis touched me at a party where everyone was playing stupid penis games". If I had known the Penis game in college would come back to haunt me later....yikes (joking, those are still allowed right?). But playing that game, in no way negated the prior assaults that occurred in my life either (nor would an assualt afterwards be "my fault" or "Deserved"! Gotta take each item and review it independently, before they are truly linked.

  8. Something to think about.

    "GOP" didn't vote in Trump

Liberals didn't cause this by not knowing whether to vote Bernie or Clinton.

The largest group of people that had an effect on the 2016 election....were the NON-VOTERS.

Everyone get out and vote in November!!!

And educate yourselves on who you are voting for....not just using their campaign ads, or the campaign ads of their opponents, but good ol' REAL research. Don't go off buzz words.....what does lowering taxes REALLY mean? At what cost? what does getting rid of RoeVWade really mean?

Michael Avenatti isn’t doing anything that benefit Michael Avenatti right now. He is trying to set himself up for a Presidential bid in 2020. If his PR happens to benefit survivors of sexual assault, that’s a feather in his cap.

has he officially said he intends to yet? I saw him on tv recently and it seemed he very clearly alluded to this. But hadn't seen/read that he outright stated this yet?

    Literally not true

Let me rephrase...."to tell someone, with the intention of him being held accountable, and it being known about him".

I believe I did see that she had confided in others prior. But not in a manner that appears to be intended to have him "punished".

Again, I never said it was "too late" or she "Shouldn't have done it now". As a victim, she has the right to speak out and name her attacker whenever she feels comfortable or able to do so. I am just acknowledging that there are consequences to not doing so, when it happened. I personally believe that this should be a crime with no statute of limitations. But the difficulty becomes "proving" the crime occurred, so long from when it happened.

I think both "sides" are "politic-ing" this. It's not for any of us to decide, unless it's taken to trial, and we sit on the jury.

  11. This is exactly why trials should play out in a courtroom, and not in the court of public opinion. None of us know (or ever will know) the real truth, unless :

1)One of them admits they are not telling the truth, and concedes the other is truthful
2)Video footage with audio is found (and even that will be challenged as the advancement of technology has come about)

I really can't decide which side on any of this, I come down on. Which as someone that can also *raise hand*, is very conflicted mentally.

I could argue that this shouldn't be political, but could at the same time argue that her wanting to NOW get the story out there (even when she had hopes of remaining anonymous) was a political decision itself.

All I know, is that the death threats on both sides are ridiculous. That people saying how she SHOULD have reacted is rediculous. That people being 100% contradictory to the "lock her up" or "Clinton/Lewinsky" scandal stance is ridiculous. That everyone thinking they have the right to make assumptions about her mind set then or now is ridiculous.

Women are the only ones that have traumatic events? If you could not accuse me of something I didn’t say, that’d be great. Thanks.

If someone accused me of that, I’d welcome an investigation cause I have never done anything like that.

There's a big different in a tramatic event (ie : seeing someone get shot/killed or your house burning down) and a traumatic event such as rape, sexual assault, incest, etc.....the later has a unique habit of re-victimizing, making the victim feel embarrassed, etc, etc etc.

You are so wrong about a lot of this. You have demonstrated you don’t understand and/or don’t care about how people respond and remember traumatic events. You try to compare a calendar someone has with actual evidence like plane tickets (passport would be better) and all that would be associated with a trip somewhere.

The funniest thing about all your nonsense: an FBI investigation would be the fastest way to answer everything you are complaining about.

As much as I love it when men try to pretend they know how my brain, as a female, works.....if y'all could stop that. that'd be great. thanks.

Here's the deal - It is perfectly legal to NOT go to the police at the time a crime is committed. However, there are consequences to this. And while it's very difficult to report for a plethora of reasons, one of the reason that women need to do it is for this very reason we are seeing play out on the world stage right now.

Unfortunately, it took seeing her perpetrator up for SCOTUS to motivate her to tell someone. Why wasn't the fear of him doing it to someone else enough? There is no winner to any of this. Either way she was assaulted, or she is very sick psychologically. And either he did it, or he is being accused of something he didn't do, which is nearly impossible for him to prove.

Imagine that I accused you of assaulting me on July 15, 1992 at your best friend's summer BBQ. Prove you didn't?

So I was forced to watch Fox news last night...I haven't sourced this, but there was some kerfuffle about BKs parent being the judge in the case where Dr. Ford's parents' home was foreclosed on???

    Anyone got anything on that?

not true. Gotta love Fox News....

It is an interesting question.  I will admit that depending on what I am ordered to do, those civilian clothes in my truck might come out quite quickly.

I think that was part of our "drunken mumbling too"....about at which point we head to the northern border.

#1 - Let me help you with thread names next time.

          Generation Next Steps

#2 - I will never call you Nostradamus

#3 - Last week, I heard some talking head on some show make the statement that we are CURRENTLY in a civil war. Understanding there are no battles, but a Cyber Civil War. Really got me to thinking. Families split, fighting each other. The country is so divided and enraged. Something will happen. What that is, and how big it will be, those questions are still TBD.

  16. Why CC? Because we are an imperfect society. I know I would rather not see everyone walking around with a 9mm on their hip. But I'm perfectly aware that many have them concealed. I cringe to thinking about how society already treats young men playing ball, imagine if there was a conspicuous firearm also on "display".
