  1. At least he’s consistent. I keep trying to pump myself up for Jayden so I’m not disappointed. That Florida game was amazingly impressive
  2. That’s funny, because my reaction was, “yesssssss”. You wouldn’t want a 1st/2nd round talent in the 3rd/4th? Imagine him in a DT rotation with Allen and Payne?
  3. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/daniel-jones/32004a4f-4e16-5462-39a4-3b4fa743c66f I don’t know why, but I was thinking Daniel Jones was faster than this. Maye actually is faster. Regarding Daniels vs Maye, it’s easy to see Maye’s ceiling. There have been a ton of super successful NFL QB’s that look and throw the ball like Maye. I think that part of what makes me nervous about Daniels, is that he doesn’t really fit the archetype. There’s never really been a SB winning QB that looked and played like him, and even Lamar Jackson, who is everybody’s holy grail of mobile QB’s, hasn’t been as successful in the playoffs as his more traditional competitors I don’t like to see Quinn talking about what kind of players scare you as a defensive coordinator. DC’s hate uncertainty and they’ve prepped for big armed QB’s a million time. The game plan is the same. Being a threat to win any given game with your legs is not the same as being the type of player that can make multiple championship games. Not that Daniels can’t. I just don’t have a million examples of guys like Daniels who have had incredible 12 year careers and won super bowls.
  4. I’m going to throw a brick if we pass on Maye and he winds up with the Giants.
  5. I feel like Kool Aid would be perfect for this defense. Does anyone else think JC Latham could fall? He doesn't seem to have had a very good draft season. I feel like if his workout numbers weren't going to be really bad, he would have worked out at his pro day.
  6. It seems like every PFF metric favors Maye over Daniels and a number of them, May over Williams.
  7. That is the nice thing about not having a coach centric FO. Adam Peters is a highly regarded, young, new hire. I would assume that he is hoping to work a full career of more than 10 years hear and have a long period of sustained success. I wouldn’t expect for him to make sacrifices in order to get to the first round of the playoffs a year faster. And Dan Quinn is also a new hire who should get plenty of leash. Im not sure they will take who I want, but I do trust that the decision making process should be solid and focused on a long term vision.
  8. It’s things like this that make me think we are going to add talent at both tackle spots. We’ve been sniffing around LT’s and RT’s and I suspect that we grab one of each in rounds 2 and 3.
  9. Jayden does have a beautiful release and mechanics. I want Maye. But, even at his pro day, there is just something funny about his release. It almost looks as if he throws off his back foot without transferring weight as a matter of habit. His throwing shoulder very commonly does not rotate forward and his non throwing shoulder remains in front. Regarding Daniels’ work ethic, I find the discussion more worrisome than reassuring. It sounds like he just found his work ethic this year. What happens when he’s a top 3 pick and multi-millionaire?
  10. I don’t think Chop falls and I don’t think we move up for him. But, he’s exactly the kind of edge rusher that we don’t have amongst our guys. The quick twitch, burst around the corner guy.
  11. Emory rates Daniels’ arm strength and velocity as better than Mayes? That’s a joke. It invalidates his entire QB breakdown. It’s almost like an ES LSU alum poster’s take.
  12. I’m so, so, fatigued of intangibles. It’s been 20 years of intangibles. This draft, and Christmas, I’d just really prefer some tangibles. I’ll take Drake Maye and then Jayden Daniels, in that order, please. And I’ll take Penix over McCarthy. I think Penix could be the Drew Brees of this draft class. Taken late first, early second, but long and super productive career.
  13. I watched just one minute of this. I literally cannot imagine a pro day being filmed in a way that is less useful and entertaining. These pro day highlights from NFL.com, zooming in on the QB, from the front, are just utterly worthless. You can't appreciate the ball leaving his hand, the trajectory, spin, velocity, or placement.
  14. What round is he projected in? Seems like 2nd round prospect based on measurements.
  15. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/deion-sanders-certain-cities-aint-gonna-happen-for-shedeur-sanders-travis-hunter It’s crazy to be on a short list of where players would want to go now.
  16. aI think Josh Allen also trained with VR after his rookie year to improve his game.
  17. Kingsley is now creeping up in the PFF mock draft simulator, which I have set to operate on consensus, not who they favor. He's pretty frequently in the end of the 1st now.
  18. If we draft Jayden Daniels, I’d love to add a WR that can get deep reliably and track the deep ball. Reuniting Daniels with Brian Thomas could be fruitful and exciting.
  19. I think that Verse and Mina are both going higher than that.
  20. It’s not his only criticism. It’s not even the one that bothers me the most. He has one of the weakest arms of the top 6 QB’s in the draft. He doesn’t throw over the middle or make tight window throws. His pressure to sack ratio is so bad, it would make him a historical outlier if he is successful. If Daniels had Drake Maye’s arm and made tight window throws, he’d be my solid QB2 if he weighed 190.
  21. Ja’tavion Sanders discussion starts at 56:52. If you were listening without them mentioning the player’s name, you’d think they could be describing Jordan Reed.
  22. WR, OT,OG, TE. The OL could be completely transformed after a year of development. Solid WR core. TE depth at least, without a true dangerous receiving threat though. one thing I’ll note is that Jordan Morgan and Chop Robinson are consistently going in Rd 1 now, in these mocks.
  23. I agree. Love Penix as a guy later in the first. Somebody could really get a steal. I like Maye and Williams better. I’m not sure about Daniels. But, it wouldn’t surprise me if Penix became a big time player in the right situation. If I was Pittsburg, for instance, I would rather have taken a shot on Penix. Maybe Atlanta should draft him. Kirk can’t play forever.
  24. Regarding Daniel’s, it’s not just the speed and strength of NFL defenders compared to college. It’s also a 17 game season plus the playoffs. That’s a lot of cumulative wear for a runner.
