  1. the Jazz teams who could not get out of the West until everyone got old out West? Nah, that team is not better than this Thunder team. Not with Byron Russell and Greg Ostertag in the first 5, lol. the Magic did not have terrific players at all 5 positions in 1995-96 either. Good team, not great and the Magic played in a terrible division.
  2. i disagree with this because there was an infantile concept of team defense back then. You could use zone in college, but the zones played in college are not as complex as in the NBA.
  3. this is all completely untrue. Especially in the 1995-96 NBA which was the final year where the league expanded by 6 teams in 8 years, further diluting talent. debatable, at best and they played in a terrible division. I think OKC would beat that Magic team in a 7 game series. the Thunder are long and athletic. The Cavs are not that. The Thunder also played amazing defense, the Cavs just cant with Love and Irving on the court.
  4. Warriors are one of the GOAT teams, and may be the GOAT team after this season is over. Curry went to another level. Was amazing to see. The team defended great the last two games as well. If they can play with that intensity on defense, IM not sure what the Cavs can do to beat them. Especially since the main problem Golden State had this series was with OKC's athleticism, which the Cavs do not have much of.
  5. i think the real issue is the people who present analytics. Those Ivy league types who only want to keep things in their network. saying that, i dont like the generalizations either
  6. OKC's leads balloon whenever he is on the court. Golden STate can normally get bigs off the court but they cant with Adams, and then Durant and Roberson are giants who can switch. I think this series is done and I cant believe how wrong I was. They should beat Cleveland too.
  7. I truly believe Golden State would have an easier matchup with OKC.They only have to defend two players and you can get Russy off his game. They are running thru the Spurs because the Spurs guards are terrible and Danny Green left his shot in 2014 forcing the Spurs to play more 1v1 ball with Kawhi and Aldridge. Kawhi isn't a player suited for that.
  8. He been hating for 30+ years. It's far tho because people have forgotten how great he was.I wish Elgin Baylor hated more too because no one acknowledges his greatness at all. not good enough to beat Golden State
  9. When I said that situation was the best, I meant Stan van Gundy was the best coach for him. He created a system using 3 point shooters to give Dwight space to roam down low and hide his terrible post game. He also used Dwight a lot on pick and rolls. Dwight thought he was above pick and rolls and wanted to use his post up game more, and it started to unravel there with Stan van Gundy telling everyone Dwight tried to get him fired and then Dwight walking up a minute later like the doofus he is. Otis Smith was a terrible GM tho, but my point was about that specific system being ideal for him. Blake's best two runs in his career was his rookie season and teh season where Chris Paul missed about 20 games and Blake became a legit MVP candidate. They dont like playing with each other because they don't mix. Also Chris Paul is a very hard person to play with if you listen to the rumors. Dwight would have hated playing with him.
  10. you mean like how Blake Griffin loves playing with Chris Paul? lol Dwight is what he is. And the back injury took his athleticism away. His best situation was Orlando and he blew it.
  11. oh for sure, lol. Party on with the Florida stories. Im not trying to stop the show.
  12. i dont live in Florida, but it is fair to say htat their transparency is a great draw... to media members http://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/how-floridas-proud-open-government-laws-lead-to-the-shame-of-florida-man-news-stories-7608595 Weird stuff happens there because of location and the mix of people, but we wouldn't know things and in such detail, were it not for their open records laws. If NYC had transparency, there is a near certainty you would see weird stories from there too.
  13. yeah, it happens in Florida. And Maryland. And Tennessee. And New York. And California. And Nebraska. Those states are smarter and have hard FOIA laws than Florida.
  14. Florida has very lax FOIA laws, hence why we get these stories. Crazy stuff happens all over this country.
  15. REal finished 3rd in La Liga when they blasted Bayern. They werent playing their best, Ancelotti just outsmarted Pep by destroying his high line with balls over the top. Pep's time at Bayern is a failure.
  16. You are being kind when there is no reason for it. There is absolutely no plan.
  17. If you read "The Business of Happiness," it almost says this is how he made his money lol. He tried several ventures including selling technology catalogs. He got on AOL early and thats where he got his money. He went to GTown Biz school, but nothing about that book showed me he has a great business acumen and those comments strike me as someone who doesnt know what he is doing. Ted Leonsis is an idiot.
  18. im probably alone, but I think he needs to be the 2nd star.
  19. OKC's roster stinks. THey have no 3rd scorer except Kanter, who comes off the bench and is a bad defensive player. Their best defensive lineup is their worst offensive lineup (Robertson). Dion Waiters gets big minutes from them. Its a bad roster and Presti sucks. Fisher was cooked. HE played for another 2 years and got big minutes. Nah.
  20. I dont care what Fisher was doing, the guy was 37 years old. He also played Fisher big minutes for another 2 years. You didnt see the Heat play Ray Allen big minutes when he got old. Thats more of a case as to why Brooks sucks by pointing that out. And he may not have given Perkins the contract, but he played him big minutes when his usefulness in the NBA was over. (literally after the 2013 season) He also does not adjust his rotations and for some reason did not think you could have either one of Westbrook and Durant on the court for 48 minutes. It took Donovan until February to figure that out. OKC has a bad roster and Donovan is not a good coach either. Ultimately, Presti has been exposed but dont downplay Brooks being bad too. This demand for Brooks across the NBA is so confusing because we all saw him mess up. HE has no offensive philosophy. That works in 1996 or even 2006. It does not work in 2016.
  21. Durant and Westbrook didnt leave Kendrick Perkins in to play heavy minutes when the Heat went small and killed OKC. He also didnt give a completely finished Derrick Fisher 20 minutes a night. Durant and Westbrook got issues, but Brooks is a terrible coach.
  22. The Spurs Assistant GM was Scott Layden who destroyed the Knicks in the late 90s and early aughts. Isaiah Thomas tried, and failed miserably, to clean up Layden's mess and got blamed for Layden's various mistakes.
