  1. i dont think their friendship is superficial. But their on court relationship is probably tiring. On top of that, the coaches never changed the offense. Saying that, Durant shares blame as well.
  2. Well during those 20 years, they were one of the best teams in the NBA. they signed Artest as well before the 2010 title. Nash was definitely a player of consequence. He shot 53%, which was a career high, from the field and made the All Star game. His back was fried which the Lakers blew, but at the time that was a huge signing. The Lakers were just the top of the league and maxed out most of these last 20 years. The last 3 years, they have had shoddy management which has lead to no one wanting to play there.
  3. because they didnt need to. They drafted well. Traded well. And UFAs only became a thing after the 98/99 lockout. And Steve Nash signed there. Saying that, I dont think the current management makes the Lakers desirable at all.
  4. The KD/Curry pick and roll will be the most electrifying move in sports entertainment history.
  5. if the NBA wants to rid tehse "Super Teams" they need to abolish max contracts and either have a hard cap or no cap at all. (which is what I prefer) Will never happen.
  6. the best time ever for hte NBA was when it was Lakers vs. Celtics every year in the 80s.
  7. apologies, i did not think i had to be that clear. Golden State have not won the 2016-17 NBA title.
  8. thats a fake account Go back to the lat page, we talked about it.
  9. thats the other thing. Golden State is a problem, but they have not won the title yet. Nothing at all is guaranteed. Everyone angry about stuff as if they just swept the season and playoffs lol.
  10. Presti is good at drafting. Not good at trading, the orlando robbery included. They probably wont be able too recreate it but outside of Durant, neither Harden or Westbrook were seen as franchise players when they entered the draft. i didnt revise anything? I said they got close. That close was this season. BUt one season out of the last 5 and pretending that this one meant more than the prior 5 is revisionism. (prior 4, I will not include Durant breaking his foot last season)
  11. yup. Steve made it up to fit his current narrative. Im fairly certain if you replaced Durant with Lebron, he was probably saying similar back in 2010.
  12. OKC has to trade Westbrook. They cannot let this happen again.
  13. probably because im an adult and you look up to me? There is nothing spineless about this at all. He is trying to win a title and he waited 9 years for his front office to get it right. THey never did. They traded a guy who is a top 5 offensive player in the NBA and that probably could have helped OKC over the last 4 years since they have only two guys who can score. They made a lot of suspect trades too over the last few years. Durant waited, and played and almost got back to the finals but it never happened. He honored his contract, became a free agent and signed elsehwere. Whats spineless and loser like is for you to say this to him from the safety of your keyboard.
  14. I love when people revise the past to fit their current agenda.Media members and fans were saying Lebron would be Wade's sidekick. You can lookup the articles that summer and throughout the season. It magnified when they lost the finals. I didn't know you back then but I'm fairly confident you were one of those types too.
  15. They traded Ibaka, Harden, and Jackson awayWaiters is garbage Kanter is a sieve defensively. And they had a coach that was below the level of his star players for years. The OKC owners were cheap for most of his tenure there. They didn't create a great situation to win a title until last season. If they don't win a title in OKC over his career you would probably be the type of fan to call him a loser.
  16. The Cavaliers are the defending champion with a guy who is a top 3 all time player.
  17. I imagine a significant number of DC area NBA fans are fans of other teams. I'm 32 and it was like that when I was a kid. Not surprised Durant would be a Raptors fan because he saw Vince Carter. The Bullwts/Wizards have been a terrible franchise my entire life and were so bad that they sold their games for other team fans to come instead of rooting for the Bullets/Wizards.
  18. I think it's funny how fans are mad at Durant for controlling his own destiny when relying on his front office probably destroyed the window OKC had. Wizards fans should be happy that a guy controlling his destiny and not letting bad moves lessen his chance at a title.
  19. He is a strong homer who will flip and bounce to make things look okay. It's not. The Wizards are a mess. Just hope Wall's knees make it to 2019.
  20. i) Durant was a free agentii) the NBA should have allowed the cP3 trade. What they got was actually worse than what the lakers offered.
  21. Eff OKCThey stole that team from Seattle. I'm all for Durant and Golden State for doing this. As a side topic, people gonna still get mad at Kobe for taking all the money considering the Mavs have pretty much screwed over Dirk and Miami were trolling DWade?
