  1. I went for the first time in a long time, solely to take my youngest to his first "NFL" game. He has no real rooting interest in the team. Frankly, I don't either anymore. But I figured the Titans crowd would be less hostile and a better first experience. $50 tickets in the 400 section. My thoughts: Stadium inside looks a little nicer than I remember. More Redskins/team-related stuff, more burgundy and gold, more nods to the past. And that's about where the positives end. Kids wanted a HOT soft pretzel before the game. So did I. We ordered three for the expected huge sum of duckets. Got them back to our seats, at about 12 pm (traffic was much less than I expected, so we were there early), and the pretzels were totally cold and stale. Like they'd been leftover from the day before. Again, this is NOON, when they should be totally fresh and hot. So we were excited at first to see these printed pieces of paper stuck to our seats that said, "You're a winner! Come by the sales booth to claim your prize." Then I saw these pieces of paper all over the stadium taped to seats, saw "sales booth" again in the verbiage and realized this was probably a load of crap. The kids of course wanted to see what the "prize" was, though, so we decided to walk down to the sales booth. I told them I fully expected this was a scam to try to sell us something and that if it was, we'd be walking away. We got to the line where a bunch of suckers were holding their piece of paper, expecting something cool. I stood by and listened in. Sure enough, just a pathetic attempt to get people to sign up for season tickets or some other exorbitantly priced thing. And the prize? A cheap pair of plastic sunglasses that looked like they came out of a vending machine. So the game was getting ready to start and we wanted to get back to our seats so my kid could see his first kickoff. As we get to the tunnel to walk into our section, I hear the anthem has just started, and this big security guard holds up his hands and says, dismissively, "First of all ... you have to wait right here." I said, "Oh, the anthem is playing, OK." So we stood there as the song, which literally just started, began. I wanted my kid to experience that instead of having to stand in a dark tunnel listening, but I didn't want to cause a scene at that point. Then I noticed the fireworks were starting. I thought maybe a flyover was next. I wanted my boy to see that. "We can't go in?" I said. The guy just shook his head back and forth. The response just pissed me off, and I said, "Come on man, this ain't North Korea." "No. This is the United States of America." "Yeah, and that's why we should be free to simply walk 5 feet into the light so my son can see this after I paid all this money for tickets and food and everything else. This is his first game." "Congratulations. If you go to guest services, they'll give him something to commemorate his first game." I shut up after that, as there was no point and my kids were already embarrassed by their old man. Look, I'm as patriotic as the next guy. I would've walked in there with my hand on my heart so my kid could see the fireworks. I thought it was ridiculous. Anthem ended, big guy moved out of the way. It was a beautiful day for football. There were the usual drunks around, mostly grotesque women dancing around like slobs. And then there was what appeared to be an insane old woman who kept cheering, "First and ten, let's do it again. DC Commanders, DC Commanders." It was weird. But there was nothing dangerous or over the top, so that was good. I later went to another concession stand and ordered a medium drink. They said they only had the large commemorative cups (which cost a ton more, of course), but that if I got that, I could get a free refill at any stand throughout the stadium, so I did that. In the second half, I went to another stand to get that promised refill. The woman looked at me like I was nuts. "We don't give refills." "When I bought this, I was told that I could get a free refill anywhere." Same look. Then she asked her manager. He was a nice guy actually. He said, "Yeah, we don't give refills, but we've heard there were some people saying that about those cups, so just go ahead and give it to him." Lol. So the game itself ... pretty bad display of football, but the Dyami Brown catches were great for my kid to see, and he was thrilled. We were all excited at the end and when the ball was placed at the 2, I figured there was no way we don't punch it in and give a nice end to this story. What is wrong with me, lol. As soon as that pick happened, we bolted. Didn't even see the tackle. My youngest said, as we were walking the walk of shame as fast as we could, "Man, they SUCK! But that was still a fun game." I guess that's something.
  2. How many forced rants can one man deliver. The most epic rant ever was delivered more than 10 years ago now, the Chad Dukes "get 'em" classic. MORE THAN 10 YEARS AGO, lol. And it's still the same thing every year. I've felt nothing for awhile now ... and it feels good.
  3. Love how Wentz backpedals 20 steps before the sack. Didn't he used to be somewhat elusive?
  4. No team would EVER put in their backup in Week 3 with a new QB they're trying to make feel comfortable and show that they're bought into. No one. Every argument to the contrary, no matter how well-researched or reasonable, is moot, because it would never happen. If this is still going on in Week 10, maybe. It was never going to happen yesterday.
  5. Uh ... who hired Rivera? Who gave him total "coach-centric" authority? Of course it's on Snyder. It all emanates from him. That stink of failure. And look at all the **** Ron has had to deal with that has nothing to do with football. As a coach, Rivera stinks. As a team president, Wright sucks. But as long as that douche stays at the top of this dungheap, nothing changes. Nothing.
  6. 'Bout to get ugly, my friends. Gene Hackman in a wig and makeup ugly.
  7. He didn't get screwed. Should've been faster on the draw.
  8. That sack totally on Wentz. What does he think is going to happen just standing back there for five seconds?
  9. Geez, listen to that crowd booing when we're on offense. What a joke of a home field.
  10. 22 plays in opponent territory for Lions vs. O for the "commanders." Lol. Never seen a stat like that ever.
  11. This just shows how much last week was Fool's gold in many respects. A game against a low-level team we were lucky to win. These Lions are much better than the Jags and have an actual homefield advantage.
  12. Turner and Wentz are utter garbage today so far. And yes, throw the o-line in there as well.
  13. LMAO. Same old Commanders. Commanders gonna 'mander.
  14. LMAO. Same old Commanders. Commanders gonna 'mander.
  15. First off, the idea that Banks/Katz are "out for publicity" seems ridiculous to me. Please tell me where you've seen her recently on television or the media? From time to time, she's done a few radio interviews. I saw her maybe ONCE on a local news show awhile back when this all came out. She responds on Twitter from time to time to defend her clients when they're being raked over the coals by the team's lawyers. This is not a Gloria Allred situation from my vantage point. I think that accusation is meritless with nothing to back it up at all. I wish she WOULD be more vocal in the press, tbh. Look how fast Gloria Allred went away when he started making a ****-ton of noise about the cheerleaders SHE represented. The team was terrified of that bad publicity, where they knew she'd be on TV every day talking about what they did. They paid her off faster than Bruce Allen could finish that cooler of Coors in his office. "Lied to by Friedman." Do you REALLY believe that a law firm with this kind of pedigree is going to allow themselves to be "lied to" by someone like Friedman and then hitch their wagons to him without vetting everything he says, lol? That is an INCREDIBLY simplistic take. Not to mention that he has provided email chains and measures of proof of these practices. What they don't seem to have, and I don't think Friedman has ever CLAIMED to have this, is a direct tie to Dan where he was ordering these things. It's the same with the cheerleader videos. You have people who say they were TOLD the videos were ordered by Dan, but there's no direct link (yet) to Dan actually ordering them. I mean, it should be obvious to most that he DID, because every other scenario is moronic to consider, but ... that's justice for you. But what would you say Friedman was "lying" about exactly? Did he "make up" the emails? Did he forge them? Did he lie about the obvious shady practices he and others were involved in? And then the question, WHY would he lie about this? Solely to "get back" at Dan? That may be why he's REVEALED this, but he would have to be certifiable to actually LIE about all this stuff and put himself in this position by doing so. It should be easy to find out if he IS lying. And I'm sure that process already took place with Banks and Katz. Whether what he is saying actually sticks or not is another matter.
  16. Number one, as far as I know, Friedman isn't accused of sexual harassment, and although he seemed to have a relationship with a "subordinate," by all accounts at this point it was consensual. The "verbally abusive" stuff is par for the course out there, but I don't know of any claims that have been brought against him from a sexual harassment standpoint. He also seems to be the guy who contacted Larry Michael on behalf of Rachel Engelson when she was being harassed by Larry, and he told him to leave her alone. But the main thing here is that Friedman's testimony is about financial improprieties it seems more than anything else, although he does seem to have something to add to the accusations against Snyder from Tiffany Johnson. But when all is said and done, none of that stuff matters in the least as far as whether or not his allegations are correct. Not every witness to a crime is a perfect angel. And some have done some very shady things themselves and then decided to open up and be truthful, sometimes for selfish reasons, sometimes for good reasons. Mob minions turn on mob bosses every once in awhile. His past has nothing to do with the veracity of his allegations. And besides, I'm gonna need a lot more than a crafted letter from Snyder's lawyers before passing total judgment on this guy. So far, the women who knew him have come out in support of him. And according to Banks, his NDA keeps him from talking about anything publicly related to these accusations, so he's at the mercy of these douchebags.
  17. I've seen a lot of support for Friedman from the women involved on Twitter. I think it's interesting now that even in his own statement he said, "I'm not perfect," because he probably knew this was on the way. That said, I don't think there's any one of us here who couldn't possibly be made to look bad if things we said at work, texts, past relationships, etc., etc. were presented out of context (or maybe even in context at times). And let me repeat this, they actually said he "lied to his own mother" in their report, lol. I mean, I can't even ....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Still, not one of those things has anything to do with his specific allegations. Either they're true or they aren't. It's like when the GOP people at the roundtable went after Brad Baker by dredging up old tweets that had absolutely NOTHING to do with his specific allegations. Trying to say he was a racist, lol. So low-rent and pathetic. Just makes me hate the whole thing that much more.
