  1. It's all about personal experiences really but I think the very last word Leeds fans would use to describe Galatasary fans would be 'friendly'.
  2. I'm easy for whoever I take but I'll take the Jets if that makes things easy. No preference at all though really. Edit: Just seen James might want the Jets. Just feel free to give me whoever nobody else wants if needs be!
  3. Am I right in saying if Man Utd were to finish 4th and Liverpool were to win the Europa League, Man Utd would not qualify for the Champions League? What a great outcome that'd be..
  4. Lets not let the blatant push on the back by Fellaini for the 2nd goal go unmentioned either..
  5. A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by: interfering with play or interfering with an opponent or gaining an advantage by being in that position
  6. Rooney blatantly interfering with play there. Robbed.
  7. Yeah I don't think Doukara has the ability in the air for it anyway. Hopefully Cani proves a decent signing but theres definitely been more misses than hits with these foreign players we've brought in in my opinion. Theres plenty of talk though that Lewis Walters is very highly rated around the club and is seen capable of having a Lewis Cook or Charlie Taylor type impact. Although he's more of the pacy type of striker.. It all looks positive for next season anyway though. Once the academy keeps producing like it is we'll be alright. Need to get Cook tied down to a long term contract though. The young midfield we have assembled is very promising.
  8. I do the same myself. Kirwin and Eddie Gray! Although I've changed recently to listen to Adam Pope and Noel Whelan when I can find a stream. Great chemistry between them and Eddie's constant sniffling had me looking to convert.. A confident Luke Murphy, Sol Bamba and finally ditching the diamond and sticking Byram in midfield seems to have made the difference for us on the pitch. Morison may be struggling to find the net but I think he's the only player we have that can do a job in that lone striker role. Was getting slightly worried with Redfearns persistence with the diamond and accommodating Bianchi on the right. Just square pegs in round holes really and it wasn't working. Aye. Not quite as bad as the Gary Mac days though. Those memories of Lubo Michalik and Paul Telfer at the back will stick with me forever!
  9. Yeah by the sounds of it Milwall were pathetically bad at the weekend. Look in serious bother. Redfearn done some job steering Leeds away from it thankfully! A repeat of 2010 from Grayson wouldn't be too bad! Beckford out though unfortunately. Garner has always impressed me though even in his Carlisle days.
  10. I'm guessing Blackpool's pitch is a bit of a sabotage attempt on their own part. Less chance of teams playing them off the park for the rest of the season and evens out their chances a bit. Really should be something done about it. Either way they're getting relegated anyway though. Preston v Man Utd tomorrow could be fun. Have faith in Simon Grayson being able to make a good game of it.
  11. Pretty flawed point. This the Arsenal that spent 80 million last summer? Unfortunately a signing like Danny Welbeck is not going to move your club on to the next level. Spurs have spent close to £250,000,000 the past 5 years, Arsenal have spent more. More than enough to build a competitive squad to challenge for a title if spent right. Arsenal have been a couple of signings away for a number of years now. Keep failing to make that push though. Money isn't the problem. Owners know once they keep finishing in the top 4 the profits will keep rolling in. A bit of pressure put on them to have to finish in the top 3 and I bet you they'd find that money needed to buy the World Class striker they've needed for years, making them competitive with the likes of Chelsea and Man City in the process. Would do wonders for the league in my opinion.
  12. The idea would be that the chances of that would be extremely slim with the strong Premiership sides taking it much more seriously. If you win it you earn it, simple as that. Giving the winner of the FA Cup a Champions League spot obviously means that only the top 3 sides in the league get a spot, another advantage in my opinion. Makes the likes of Spurs, Arsenal etc. who have pretty much zero ambition to win the league push on and be that bit more competitive.
  13. Man City put out a strong side but only arrived in England after a 7 hour flight from Abu Dhabi the day before. Hardly great preparation for a game they should be taking seriously? Chelsea had their scrubs starting. Just annoys me a bit that all these other competitions are taking away from the FA Cup so much. Used to mean so much winning it, its importance now is very much diminished, nearly seen as a relief for some teams to get knocked out so they can concentrate on the league.
  14. Managers playing weak teams...I hate how the FA Cup has been cheapened. Some great entertainment today but its definitely lost a lot of its magic. Need to give the winner a champions league place in my opinion.
  15. I'm born and living in Ireland and even I'm growing tired of McGregor. Irish Muhammad Ali..just cringeworthy Will be funny to see how he acts when he eventually gets beaten. Amount of people that've jumped on his bandwagon over here is insane.
  16. Aye he got the hype after a prolonged run in the team. I was just saying that from the moment he slotted in to the team every Leeds fan knew he was going to be special. The media hype then started to build as you've mentioned. Think Newcastle had a bid turned down before we sold him to Villa. Was a terrible deal, full of clauses which for the most part have been bought out. The hype died down for a couple of years when he struggled with injury. Then the media hopped back on the bandwagon when he got himself fit again and won player of the year for Villa last year.
  17. Ehh hype tends to generate over time. Delph came into the team at Leeds and was our best player straight away. This was before the media started to create any real hype about him. The media has only really started to talk about him being a real top 4 capable talent since he was man of the match in his first start for England last year. Said it all when he hardly even got a mention when Hodgson was picking his World Cup squad. Delph should've made the squad in my opinion.
  18. Completely agreed on the overhyping of English players. I'd usually be the first to blame the English media for getting carried away with young English talent but I've thought Delph would be a top class talent since he was 18 at Leeds and running our midfield, long before the media hype. Best talent to come out of the club since Milner and he might even prove to be better. Still plenty he can improve on especially with his tackling but I'd have confidence he could slot in to a top 4 club and do well. He's brilliant with the ball at his feet driving through the midfield at pace especially.
  19. He's getting a move to a Spurs/Everton/Liverpool in January or the summer at the latest. I think he's good enough personally. All will be revealed.
  20. Wasn't joking. Delph is a better player today than Gerrard is.. Obviously Gerrard in his prime is close to irreplaceable. Thats not who you are replacing though..
  21. Could see Fabian Delph being his replacement.
  22. If there was still a Suarez or a Torres (in his prime) in the team than yeah I think he'd have something considerable to offer for another season or two max but theres no front man for him to ping those long through balls to at the moment. Those type of partnerships Gerrard used to make with a frontman, being on the same brain wave with them, got the best out of him without a doubt. Prob a good time to move on with Liverpool seemingly in a bit of a transition period. Will be weird watching Liverpool playing without him though. Bit like Man Utd without Ferguson.
  23. Gerrard off to LA Galaxy in the summer according to reports. Not a disaster really is it? Every time I've seen him this season he's struggled..
