“A while ago”? Fields ran in 2021. 2022 doesn’t really count. You would think a QB whose main attribute that sets him apart from the other prospects is his ability as a runner would want to showcase that trait, similar to what other athletic “freaks” have done. Kind of interesting to me that Daniels is bowing out of that. That’s fine for individual teams who are there clocking it I guess. But I personally will never trust a pro day 40 time.

Something I want clarification on is whether these guys are still going to run the 40 at the Combine. It says they definitely aren’t throwing, but that Daniels tweet makes it seem like he’s only going to be measuring, interviewing, meeting and then bouncing. That’s disappointing if true. I don’t want to see anyone using Pro Day 40 times.

He also says “maybe more”… What about Howell? Multiple NFL sources believe several teams would be interested in trading for the 23-year-old who threw for 3,946 yards and 21 touchdowns in 17 starts last season (albeit with an NFL-worst 21 interceptions). They could potentially get a third-round pick for him — maybe more — if they decide they're willing to deal him sometime around the draft.

@turtle Well, I think Kliff — I think Kliff can use what he has and adjust a little bit with his offense. I don’t think it’s super, super rigid. But I know over everything else you talk about guys that can get through things quickly and get the ball out and get it out accurately. So I think you can look at all these guys. I think all three of them would fit. I don’t think that there’s anybody you look at between those three and say Kliff couldn’t work with them. I think you get mobility with all three. You get guys that are all three of them by everything I’ve been told are really, really bright, really, really smart guys. To me it’s more about kind of the ceiling of what you think they can be. Drake Maye with just having a little more prototypical size and playing in a rugged division, I think that might be more of a decision-making point more so maybe than the offense would be. You know, the location and the division and playing outdoors in Washington. That to me would lean a little bit more towards Drake Maye.

Or Sam Darnold's 7.1... or Mitch Trubisky's 7.0... or Paxton Lynch's 6.8... or Teddy Bridgewater's 6.8... or Blake Bortle's 6.8... or Marcus Mariota's 6.8... or Dwayne Haskin's (RIP) 6.7... or Josh Rosen's 6.7. If by "play that game", you mean taking Zierlein's grades seriously. No, we really don't. 😂

The thing is, cap space does roll over year-to-year... so you're still maintaining a competitive advantage long-term by not going on some crazy spending spree when your team's still not truly competitive enough to compete for a championship. When you're legitimately a SB contender, that's when you should go all out.
