  1. I hope I'm wrong, but this "group outing" seems like such a transparent attempt to see who emerges as the "leader" or "alpha" of the group. Pretty cringeworthy, IMO, if that's the case.
  2. If this is true - I.e., Daniels is getting his own days while Maye is sharing with JJ and Penix - then this is a wrap.
  3. The good thing is that if anyone from outside the Niners org knows his actual worth, it would be Peters. If we draft Daniels, we need to be as aggressive as possible surrounding him with great WRs. This would get us most of the way there.
  4. Regardless of who is or isn’t a moron today, both Peters and Quinn will be perceived as morons if Daniels busts or gets a significant injury and Maye turns into at least an average NFL starter. I don’t see any way they survive that.
  5. A bit of hyperbole, sure. But the point is Daniels hasn’t proven he can operate at a high level with subpar surrounding talent. Maye has. I know you may not agree with this point, but I do think Daniels is a bit lacking when it comes to anticipatory throws, and I don’t think it’s primarily due to the offense he was in. More often than not, he needs to see his receivers come open before he throws it. That will mean he’ll need longer in the pocket (better protection) and receivers who can consistently separate at a high level. Otherwise, I don’t have much hope the offense will be able to consistently move the chains. It’ll take a lot more than a pass catching RB. Yes.
  6. It’s a scale. I think the “need” for great protection and WRs is higher with Daniels than it would be with Maye. But yes, both are priorities regardless.
  7. If we do take Daniels, we should draft OL and WR in every round. Build the most stacked offense possible and recreate what he had in his one great college season.
  8. My gut is telling me Schefty and others are setting up the Daniels slide to be the “story” on draft day. How “reports said” he was going 2nd overall but teams weren’t as high on him as “the public” thought. Gotta find an angle to keep casuals tuned in on draft day.
  9. The problem is first place votes were given 5 points and second place votes were given 3 point for some reason…? Daniels received 3 first place votes, likely not from any GMs. Maye didn’t receive any - I think most people high on Maye still realize Williams is better. Whereas Daniels fans are so enamored by what makes him special that they are willing to place him above the almost unanimous QB1. There were also only 5 GMs (current and former) out of 17. If Standig had given GMs a higher weighting than the other titles, I am confident Maye vs. Daniels would have been much tighter and am guessing that Maye would have come out ahead.
  10. What’s interesting is if you ignore everything in that article but the opinions of the GMs, my read is that Maye comes out ahead at QB2. Ultimately, those are the opinions that matter most and should be weighted accordingly.
  11. I fully admit I'll be disappointed if we draft Daniels over Maye. I'd learn to accept it, but it would be such a Washington move to pass on Maye and watch him become a top 5 QB with the Patriots, whose fans only had to suffer through *checks Google*... 4 years of bad QB play after having the GOAT on their team for two decades.
  12. If he has some new information whenever the piece below comes out, this is probably the case. I've seen him nail a few Patriots-related news items before others as well.
