  1. I think we can now start to understand why he was stashed away all pre-season. McLaurin is unbelievably good. After the Josh Doctson saga amongst various others, I genuinely thought we'd be waiting years to get a decent receiver, let alone draft one that wasn't a bust. We've not only got one that is worth his pick, which was ropey for a while, but he'd be worth a top 10 selection 2 rounds ahead of where we got him. McCatchit is so much fun to watch - this ****ty season's one bright spot. No idea how he flew so deep under everyone's radar he was there for us in the 3rd.
  2. The real story here... The ones who will be hit hardest are voting for it - same as they did with the Brexit vote. The Turkeys just keep voting for Christmas.
  3. Totally respect that point of view, but the referendum was not held on honest grounds and the situation has dramatically changed in the last 4 years. By sheer demographics, the result has flipped to remain, just based on the very polarised voting by age and natural death rate, plus young people turning 18. All the polling says we want to remain. Many people would have voted remain if they thought the alternative was a hard brexit or a no deal brexit, but voted leave on the promises of unicorns and customs union that vote leave campaigned on. The sensible compromise is a preferred vote. Remain and both leave options on the ballot, with electorate marking their choices in order of priority. Votes are counted, and any votes for the 3rd best option are then added back into the counting based on the second preference. Doesn't split the leave vote, doesn't hamstring people into a binary choice, everyone's voice is heard. Democracy is not a finite point in time, it evolves and changes. We voted Tony Blair in in 1997, why have we bothered having elections since then? WE made our choice and majority ruled - he won a landslide. The whole it happened and therefore it must be respected is bull****. It was a dishonest campaign and lots of people voted utterly blind asd they had no idea what was lies. Since then parliament has tried to implement it but the reality is that it would be so catastrophic in so many ways that no-one will accept responsibility for forcing it through. Nobody wants to take the blame for it. How we leave was a HUGE part of the pre-referendum debate and no deal was ruled out as not being an option several times. People voted based on that misinformation that if they voted to leave then it would not result in no deal.
  4. No deal should not be on offer. None of the pre-referendum discussion had anything to do with no deal, nobody voted for it. Johnson was promising we could have our cake and eat it. It should be leave with a deal or don't leave at all.
  5. That logic doesn’t follow. The Remainers very much want a second referendum which is a specific vote on brexit and why a million people marched on the streets of London at the weekend. It’s the leavers who are running scared of a second referendum because they know they will lose a second one. The general election is more of a picking their time issue - Corbyn is a pretty divisive figure and would struggle to win an election but a referendum specifically on brexit is different to an election on everything to choose a new government. Lots of individuals are worried they will lose their seats. Also, similar to Clinton winning the popular vote but losing the election, similar could happen in a new referendum due to the voting system though which is one reason several opposition figures won't commit to a second referendum. Youve done an incredible job to only see polls with leave still leading, there have only been about 7 in the 3 years since. Here is a link to the polling analysis I alluded to - https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/brexit-news-latest-britain-against-leaving-eu-as-poll-of-polls-says-most-now-want-to-stay-a4257476.html
  6. Unfortunately, it's the public being trolled. The UK no longer supports or wants Brexit (those of us with a brain cell never wanted it in the first place). Why is it the Brexwits are so averse to a second referendum? They know they'll get hammered. Well over 200 of 240 something polls since the vote have Remain winning out.
  7. Some graphics I made back in 2012. Photoshop was on a learning curve. Also worth taking a minute to remember.... "Griffning"
  8. 105 mill 5 year extension for Demarcus Lawrence. Dude got PAID!
  9. Brilliant stuff Purbeast - great to see you finally made it!!! Congrats buddy!
  10. Sounds like all is going well Purbeast! Most of the skills are more about teaching yourself not to panic and staying calm rather than actually being difficult to execute. You'll do fine with the rest of it.
  11. Just read through the last couple of pages on here - it's a really interesting debate and a tricky situation for the US. I find it incredibly sad that one of this year's big selling school bags in your nation had ****ing kevlar in it, causing the popularity. What a sad situation that you have to send your kids to school with bullet proof vests/bags. I speak as a total outsider who has never had the 2nd amendment right, but I also speak as a citizen of a country where I am 138 times less likely to get murdered with a firearm. A country without guns is not some passive utopia - we have our own issues in the UK with knife crime etc, but I am still 4 times less likely to be murdered than a US citizen. ( http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/United-Kingdom/United-States/Crime ) There are so many issues with introducing gun control, but I find it hard to see any case for opposing it. It's not a situation you would be able to sort out quickly, but it is a situation that could be resolved (but it won't be; because even if the Dems got the spine to do something about it, the Reps would just reverse it all as soon as they got legislative control). If I were looking to find a system you could adopt, I would suggest Australia has pretty good gun laws - maintaining access to guns but making it safer etc.... during the late 90s the Australians were in the same situation you guys are in now - appalled by a massacre they enacted sweeping changes to their gun laws - I was actually in Australia earlier this year and went to a firing range (it was the first time I'd ever fired a real gun - I'm 31 years old). Australia's gun revolution is well described in this article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-35048251 - I appreciate that your nation is 325 million people rather than 23.5 million people but I certainly think Australia has shown that it can be done, and done well, without an outright ban. I don't think access to guns is unreasonable - I get that some people like to hunt etc - it's not my thing, but I get it. I don't however understand how you have got to a situation where you can buy ludicrously high powered assault rifles with little difficulty. Who the **** needs an AR15? and how the **** do you guys let somebody legally buy one of those before they can legally buy a beer? There is no argument for these being available in the public domain - if a hunter needs an AR15 to hunt, then they're probably not very good at hunting. Hope you guys don't mind me putting in an outsiders perspective.
  12. I was meaning to post to see how you'd got on in GC Purbeast, it popped into my head last week but I forgot again! That does sound expensive for a single dive, so I don't blame you for bailing on it. Exciting news that you've got it all booked in now though! It's such a great hobby to be involved in, and the dive community are a great bunch. Never met anybody who I actively disliked whilst diving. Did once meet a guy who shot some incredible footage for Discovery Channel - schools of Hammerheads off the Galapagos Islands - he was a serious diver though with serious equipment! We're currently trying to work out our travel plans for next year - I think we're planning to spend some time in China next summer but the caveat to that is I want to go somewhere to get some diving done so I guess maybe Christmas or Easter we'll do that.
  13. Jehu Chesson promoted again per Official Skins site https://www.redskins.com/news/redskins-sign-jehu-chesson-to-the-active-roster "LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster move: The Redskins signed the following practice squad player to the active roster: WR Jehu Chesson"
  14. Yeah Adblock works on iOS and Android platforms.
  15. Try downloading AdBlock for your browser. Should help kill some of those windows.
  16. Just to add to this for those who are looking for ways to watch - Don't know if it is ok to post links or not, so I won't either but there is a subreddit devoted entirely to NFL streams (quite easy to google and locate it) that provides lots of links for every game, All links are totally free and none of the links require signup/downloads.
  17. Very unlikely. Outside of the superbowl i have never seen any NFL on the TV at a UK bar and our restaurants dont usually have any TVs. Think you'll find it difficult to watch anywhere except online at your hotel to be honest.
  18. Brilliant news mate, really glad you got it sorted!
  19. That's frustrating but at least things are still progressing. What a pain in the neck though, hopefully you'll get it sorted reasonably soon!! I'm determined to get diving again next year - thinking maybe somewhere in Caribbean for Easter holidays (I'm a teacher). Need to have a proper look though to see where would be good at that time of year.
  20. I do the same with soccer over here. Works for me too, so I guess it's fairly universal. As I'm in the UK I don't need to do that for the Skins though - Gamepass for me. Works out just under £10 per game which is slightly expensive imo, but worth it for me compared to finding a stream as I'm a teacher so not able to watch the late kick off games live, but with Gamepass, I can watch it when I get in from work the following day.
  21. Congrats on the anniversary purbeast! And Rick, I didn't know you were a diver?! Maybe we need to change our vacation plans from a DMV trip to a scuba meet up! ??
  22. You should be fine with Asthma I would think if it is mild. Like you say, if not then try a different doctor! We never had to get a medical release signed by a doctor, so you still have the option of doing the certification outside of the US where that wouldn't be a requirement, even if you can't find a doctor willing to sign it - you know your limits better than anyone - I would think that Cayman is probably more relaxed on that one so if you went with a company out there I doubt you'd need a signed letter from doc, but obviously that would leave you having to spend more time out there doing the skills etc of your certification so may have to arrange a trip to do it where it wouldn't ruin your family vacation. The diving in Cayman looks pretty spectacular from what I've seen online - we're thinking about a Caribbean trip next year - We were thinking about going to Trinidad or Cuba or somewhere but maybe we'll have a look at Cayman too before we make a decision!
  23. That's a nice array for the 5 dives. We were fortunate due to doing it in the Red Sea, our 4th dives ever were on a reef voted 3rd best in the world by Sportdiver magazine. The main wreck dives there are too deep for Open Water certification though, Definitely sounds like you have a good grounding, and Fish ID books are always a plus. I started as a complete novice so spent the first week trying to get to grips IDing fish as well as the scuba basics.... Good luck anyway mate - let us know how you get on.
  24. Haha, you will manage it I'm sure bro. Yeah, sounds like it would be worth it to do it as a separate trip - that way you get to meet people who dive and you're not feeling guilty the whole time for missing out on family time! My advice would be to leave the Advanced certification until you have some dive experience. I'm on around 50 dives logged so far and haven't done my advanced yet. My partner has about the same amount of dives logged and she is still not feeling that she is ready to do her advanced certification. I feel like I'm ready to do it, but I think some of the certification makes more sense to do after you have some dive experience - Open Water will give you access to everything you need to dive, and you can dive without a guide, go down to 30 metres etc. It's a case of running before you can walk to do advanced without any dive experience imo. Advanced will allow you to dive some of the more tricky sites, and do a couple of specialisms but to be honest until you've logged 20+ dives generic dives I wouldn't consider doing any sites that require Advanced certification anyway, and the specialisms won't have as much value because you'll be focussing on getting the basics right - buoyancy, monitoring gauges/dive computer/pressurising correctly etc. I found my first 10 dives were really concentrated on that stuff and then I started to relax and it became a bit more natural and I could enjoy it more. That's just my 2 cents though mate. One thing that is worth doing before you head out to Cayman is to check what kind of fish they get there and try to learn some of them, otherwise you don't know what you're looking at, and it won't make sense when they try to tell you! The divemaster will have hand signals for pointing out different types of fish, and if you don't know what you're looking for when they do it, then you can miss some cool stuff which is gone in the blink of an eye. So it's worth getting an idea of what the fish look like so when they show you the symbols for them, you know what to look out for,
