My brother recently graduated West Point, and he was telling me they recently stopped doing this particular drill because "if he sees you, you're probably dead."

The North doesn't stand a chance, and their heavy artillery is probably at the top of the US/SK target list. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the South Korean civilian death toll is the hundreds of thousands before we can stop the shelling.

I have a friend who's North Korean, but lives here now. Also, my church sponsors some missionaries who live in China and smuggle food across the border to North Korean orphans. We've had volunteers go over on a short term basis to help out. By all accounts, it's pretty rough over there.

Of course, but most of us Americans already think our Presidents are idiots who can't do anything right. :silly:There's probably a fairly large portion of the population who thinks they could actually do a better job if they were elected. North Koreans, on the other hand, think their leaders are basically gods. I think a lot of it has to do with where the power lies. We choose our leaders, and in a way, we're their employers, and they have to live up to our standards. In dictatorships, all the power lies with the leader, and the people have to live up to his standard. In their minds, he's on a higher plane than they are. They've been told for years their leader is their savior, and when that idea superiority has been reinforced over the years, believing he's somehow superhuman isn't a far stretch.

The thing it, t's not BS to you when you've accepted it to be true for decades, everyone around you also accepts it, and you have outside sources to give you a different perspective.

Yeah, I guess if they're going down, they'd rather take South Korea down with them than experience a humiliating collapse from within while SK watches.

I hope not. What a waste of lives on both sides that would be. North Korea is imploding as it is, what do they think they'll gain by going to war?
