  1. Yes sir. I totally agree with this point. I have a feeling that we will move up into the first round for a higher-end OT. But I also think we could pick Paul at 40, which is another massive human being. Between the two, we can see who fills L or R better. I know our ES mock has us taking Kingsley at our natural pick at 36. It's a mock and therefore just a guess, but I don't see a brain like GMAP leaving such an important position left to chance. We finally have our Bethard/Casserley back in the building after 30 years. They have a plan and I guarantee it will not play out like the mock has it. The only tweener I would take would be Barton. But we would have to take Paul as well. I would take any combo of Mims, Barton Guyton Morgan or Paul and feel comfortable
  2. Yes, total guess on my part about what each value a pick is worth. I am not a bean counter as others are on this board, but just guessing, I think a high 2nd and low third would get you to 16th pic. Hell, it could take adding a 6th rounder as well. But to your point, I want a massive human being to be the LT even if he's a bit raw. Mims is just that, although he's more RT. And he can move that massive frame. When it's all said and done...1.) I want the QB with the most upside. To me that's Maye. I don't care that he's raw at certain things, the natural talent is there. 2.) I want a LT to protect his blind side. I'd rather have a veteran for this, with his natural position being LT and not RT. But if not a vet, then a friggin Yeti that can move.
  3. I think we either package a 2nd and a 3rd to move up to the middle of the 1st, in that Fautanu range or between 20 and 30 range to target Mims, Guyton, JPJ, Barton or at least Morgan. Or we keep hounding Denver to trade us Boles for a pic and cap relief. He's 32 this year and coming off a pretty good year. What should we give up for a starting LT that we should be able to keep for another 3-4 years?
  4. I agree with you on an X-receiver. I had McConkey, Thomas, Mitchell and Franklin as my late 1st rounders. I'd much rather have a true possession receiver, and that would have been Mitchell, but after reading ST=god's breakdown of the Texas receiver, he's concerned about bad football character. About him not being a team player and taking plays off. Chase Young'ish.
  5. Nice avatar KB. I was just wondering last night if you were going to keep the Mickey-pez that CITR awarded you, or if you were going back to your old George Michael one. This DQ avatar is sweet!
  6. Well, you can scratch this particular insider off your list as being credible. Never trust a guy that wears a casual-wear suit with shoes and no socks. So now it's down to Daniels and Maye. Stay tuned for the next round of 'insider elimination' with your host, mudhog.
  7. If he comes from Dallass, DQ should have intimate knowledge of him. Which also begs the question, why wasn't he coached up last year into a starting back? Just curious, because I know coaches can do wonders, but can they do miracles? This question isn't directed at you OD25, it's just in general.
  8. This draft is gonna be so much fun now that GMAP has done a spectacular job in FA so far. I know that OT is gonna be harder than these mocks to secure upper echelon talent in the early rounds, and we will more than likely package picks to move back into the mid-first to secure our LT. But there's so much talent, that drafting BPA is a breeze in any round. Here's another:
  9. I would be stoked if this was our draft. It would put my worries to rest about the LT and RT.
  10. My point about the trade value is that it's been said by a few sources that we were poking around Garret Bowels as to a trade. And that Denver was interested in Sam Howell. So, a deal could have gone either way with them. Neither happened. Just sayin
  11. I would also add that it shows a lot of class by GMAP that he traded Sam to the Seahawks and gave him an optimal situation for success. Versus, using him as an asset in trade talks with Denver for possibly poaching their LT. It(hypothetically) might have given us much more trade value in seeking their LT, but at the cost of Sam's proper development/success due to the fact that they most likely will be fielding a team of scrubs in order to tank for next year. Just the way I see it anyways.
  12. I've seen many comparisons of Maye and Daniels head to head, showing strengths and weaknesses of each. And overall I tend to agree with them. But not once has someone put forth a believable argument that shows Daniels is more pro-ready than Maye.
  13. I'm surprised we didn't match the Rams offer? Or maybe we did, and he still decided to leave. Would have loved to have him back this year. Especially at that deal. Goes to show the power of social media today. Once you tweet the peace sign, Poof, you're gone.
  14. One thing I never hear from the TBC argument is the logical conclusion that every pick gained from the trade-back has to be GIVEN BACK UP in the subsequent years to move up to try and get a franchise QB. And even after giving back the king's ransom to move back up, it might only be for the #3, #4 or 5th rated QB in that draft. Pull the trigger now when the cost is zero except for the pick it's self. Don't overthink it.
  15. Yup. It's a wrap! Thanks Ron for bringing the Maye vs Daniels debate to an end a month and a half early. Now I can sleep easy knowing that we will pick Maye since you said Daniels. Easy button!
  16. This seems about the best place to ask this question though I might not be in the proper thread, so apologies if I'm wrong. At some point last year we acquired Jabril Cox, who many on here liked in the 2021 draft along with Jamin Davis, JOK, Zaven Collins and Nick Bolton. I know he was drafted by Dallas and was injured at some point, but he was a 4th rounder. Is he a viable option this year as a Sam or Will LB? Or do we truly just have Hudson and Davis? Thanks
