I agree with this line of thinking. If you wait until a player reaches your pick it means you arent 100% sold on that player. Thats not really a plan that instills confidence. If we would pick the best QB that drops to us, that means none of them were really what we wanted in the first place. If you like a guy and are sold you got to go get him. -
I think most reports stem from his original trade request prior to the accusations but only time will tell. As we know things have changed since then. Besides WFT, I believe the Steelers and Browns will be the players. Maybe Philly and the Fish. Of those teams we have just as much chance as any from a talent standpoint. We will see..

Where and when does that come from? Before he was charged or before the trade deadline? I think his options will be different due to the circumstances.

If we do go for Watson its worth swinging for the fences and making sure you get him because just the intent of interest will bring scrutiny regardless. Your damed if you do and damned if you dont and once we roll the dice we have to follow through. A top 5 QB who is young doesnt come available for no reason. We have to make a deal with the devil and I am cool with it unless he is charged criminally.

And he would get injured almost instantly in our uniform. Thats the other thing about this guy is that he is usually injured to some degree.

Jordan Hicks is a name to watch. He is 30, so not a super long term option but still has plenty of juice. Cardinals want and drafted Zaven Collins in that roll and will have to decide on what to do about Hicks who was the best linebacker on that team this year. He would be an under the radar quality acquisition if released. -
Watching Mahomes and Allen duke it out makes me want Watson even more.

Cousins would need a contract extension and restructuring as part of the deal. We all know how that goes with him. I dont know about him as an option because of how he left but wouldn't be devistated if were back. He almost single handedly ruined the Vikings with his big contract though.

Hurts differs from Taylor due to his elite running ability. Taylor is good but Hurts breaks ankles. I think the future is bright for him but will take time to grow as a passer.

I fully understand this point. Even if he settles his cases there was enough evidence he was a slime ball at the very least. Any team will have to take its PR lumps if they sign him. Its a polarizing conundrum. People will want to see him fail. That being said I personally wouldnt feel like I am a creep or stooping to a low if he became a member of this team. I am a fan and try to keep my eyes on the product on game day. I am not a believer that human beings dont deserve second chances.

You cant compare apples to oranges. Ray Rice was caught on camera in his case so there was no defense. Your right the NFL will proceed as it sees fit and as they should. As it stands now there is no criminal case. Obviously teams will let the process play out before taking the plunge.

He definately has some major issues off the field and unfortunately so does our organization for the same or similar reasons. That being said the NFL is a cruel place where winning trumps moral standards. Right or wrong it is what it is. His interest in his destinations are obviously a factor. Break CP out of jail too.

I was hoping Hurts would show a little more but he was wildly inaccurate. His flop game increases the likelihood they go after a QB in the offseason and they are armed to the teeth compared to us. Or they could go the other route and improve roster around Hurts. I think the Jury is still out on him. He is one heck of a fantasy QB. If it wasnt for covid that may well have been us in there but we would have lost too.

He is a train wreck. Tons of talent but turns the ball over so much. His neck injury may be career ending.

I think Cousins, Watson, Wilson and Carr are moved when all is said and done. Maybe not Carr but I feel the others will move. Trubiski, Mariota, Winston are JAGS that will fill stop gap options and one may emege as viable if not solid player like Tannehill became.

I mean before all this perverted stuff came out on him he was a major philanthropist and community guy. If we dont get him I sure hope he stays out of the division.

I dont deny the idea has its moral wrinkles but a shot at a player of his caliber are only possible because of of the wrinkles.

No I respectfully disagree BH, we let the legal process play out. Not even charged with a crime yet and that is significant. Keep in mind after all the phycho crap Vick did he got a second chance. I mean he is an analyst on a major broadcaster.
