I didn’t realize the eagles’s passing offense was so poor.
Hurts still isn’t an elite passer, but his skill set really complements Philly’s strengths. They looked shaky for the first game but their OC seems to have recommitted to running the ball and it’s paying off (cough cough EB). Add that they have a dynamic WR corps and an elite Oline, and their offense is really hard to contain for 60min. -
Gut says Eagles blowout, so I’ll go against the grain:
I think they take the lessons from the Bills game and improve their game plan. They run the ball more and simplify things for Sam. Washington loses a surprisingly close one. Fans still have a meltdown.

Down 30-0 and they’re still making Howell drop back and pass every play. Game’s cooked, at least roll out a balanced offense and pretend it’s 0-0.

They called a time out to drop 9 people in coverage on 3rd and 8, only to have their best receiver without anyone within 10 yards of him.

Gotta change your mind about going for it on 4th when you lose that yard or so on 3rd. I get the idea you’re going to run it twice from the 1 but it was clear Rivera hadn’t considered the lost yardage situation.

It would have been a 50-ish yrd field goal. We weren't guaranteed anything
Shorter pass to get 8-10yd would have been the play there, if it was open.- 1

Young qb not quite at the level he needs to be at.
Biggest area for improvement so far is working on that internal clock and not trying to do too much.- 1

People are forgetting that these tickets were already bought by Bills fans (who travel well) before the ownership change and new good vibes even happened.
Bills fan “travel” well because of the multi decade long diaspora from upstate/western NY.- 1

Gladly take 3 there. D looked great forcing them into 3rd and long.

I will never forgive Ron for releasing Nick Sunberg. You know that guy played an entire half with a broken arm for us? Helped Way to his first ProBowl. Ron cuts him and drafts Cheese. Huge red flag there.
Possibly worth noting that Sundberg is a free agent and hasn’t played since being released. I don’t know that he was the right option.
Drafting a long snapper definitely wasn’t the right option though.

We’ll need to score 30+ to win and can’t afford to have another slow start. I could see a win but I don’t quite trust the team enough to predict it.
Bills- 30
Washington- 27

OK, watching the Pittsburgh - Cleveland game and saw an ad for Doug Burgum for president. I'd never heard of him. Apparently he's governor of North Dakota. I can't imagine his candidacy goes too far.
Same. I was watching the ad wondering what he was running for. Was thinking some local House of Delegates race. Chuckled a bit when I figured out he was running for president.- 1

Why was Curtis Samuel MIA yesterday?
Honestly, we just spread the ball around a ton. 9 different receivers caught passes yesterday, all but one of them had more than one catch and none had more than 5 (Terry). Samuel had a 13 yard carry and three catches for 19. He also had a really nice aggressive downfield block on a BRob screen.- 2

And btw, having some tough opponents on the schedule makes it all the more important to take care of business against lesser teams like Arizona and Denver. Banking these W's could end up being the difference in a potential Wild Card race in December/January.
You mean the division race.- 2

Good litmus test for us. Broncos are quite mediocre, but it’s on the road. Good teams win this game.

My guy is on IR with a groin injury..... (left with no comment.)
Remember once when I was like 12 I was watching sportcenter and the ticker at the bottom said Randy Johnson had been scratched from his start due to stiffness in his groin. 22 years later I’m still laughing about it.- 4

Oh man that late arrival theory is bad. Things like altitude sickness and dehydration take a day or two to set in but your body absolutely needs like 3 days to acclimate if you want to have halfway decent cardio performance. I’m always super winded on short hikes the first day I’m there, much less so by day 3.

He’s a proven guard. Just move him inside next year and find a true RT
Hell if Cosmi wants another crack at the RT job I’d consider just making the switch mid season to see how it goes. -

In fairness to Forbes, you really didn't hear his name much which means he did his job. He did give up a big 3rd down completion to Hollywood Brown but other than that I think he stuck to his man like white on rice.
Forbes also had a really nice pass break up late in the game (last play? Can’t remember). The WR broke hard over the middle of the field and Forbes had such great anticipation on it he made up like a step and a half coming out of the break.
edit: yes was the 4th and 10 play to end the game. Check this out- 3

Throwing too often for a young QB. Control the game with the run.
This was my biggest observation. EB hasn’t really committed to establishing the run at all.

Yeah people are posting the pic but it’s worth noting that daylight you think you see between the white of his shoe and the white of the line could easily be the red stripe at the bottom of Terry’s shoes. Imo the official who made the call on the field probably had the best angle to see it. Not positive he got it right though. I would have been livid if that call was overturned against us. Absolutely a situation where “call stands” was the right thing regardless of how it was called on the field.
