  1. Not sure how I feel about this win. This team plays well at times, but is flat during others. I'm wondering who the real Wizards are.
  2. Thank God Marcus Smart changed his hair. It was unbearable to look at during the previous meeting. So is Gortat's play right now. The only thing giving me hope now is that, during both of our recent playoff seasons, we had similar slumps in the later part of the regular season, only for us to turn it on come playoff time...at least for 1 series.
  3. Smith might be better than Morris at this point. And Mahinmi may be better than Gortat at this point. We may end up starting one of them in the playoffs.
  4. Darn.....that means we have one of the toughest remaining schedules in the East, while Boston has the easiest remaining schedule in the league. Fortunetely Cleveland has one of the toughest remaining schedules in the league, though part of that is that they play us one more time.
  5. On nba.com's playoff picture, there's a column labeled "strength of schedule." Does that mean of games played, or of remaining games?
  6. Darn. I never thought of it that way. Whenever I thought of someone overtaking Cleveland for the #1 spot, I assumed it'd be us or no one. It never occurred to me that finishing in the top 3 could still result in us facing Cleveland prior to the ECF. With that in mind, I'm now thinking that we can only afford to drop 1 game prior to the final Cleveland game. That Boston game might be a must-win.
  7. Milwaukee and Miami (currently the #8 and #9 seeds respectively) make me a bit nervous. They are playing well now. For that matter Detroit (currently #7) is too. Is anyone else worried that getting the #1 seed might backfire? I still view us as being the better team in any of those matchups, but I can't help thinking that maybe a matchup with Indy or ATL would be better. Course, this is assuming that the Bucks & Heat don't do further leapfrogging.
  8. Kief was out, but it made up for that illegal D call, and it looked like Wall got hacked on one of his buckets in OT. Also it looked like their big either traveled or double dribbled in OT
  9. I'm kinda surprised you guys reacted to my post (the top one quoted here) the way you did. The point wasn't that we should be concerned about the manner of victory, but rather that we should be happy about the fact that we won at all, given that Boston recently failed against two of the teams whom we recently beat, even if our wins were unimpressive.
  10. My temptation is to be frustrated that we're having to claw for wins over weak teams recently but then I remember that Boston lost to one of those same teams tonight, and to another a few nights ago. Lo and behold, those narrow wins over weak western teams are why we're now the #2 seed, and breathing down Cleveland's neck.
  11. Neither of these games should've been as close as they were, but any time you can get road wins on back-to-back nights, you take it.
  12. BS continuation call, but Wall should've contested at the rim anyway, in case of...well, a bad call.
  13. I'll take the win, but the play of Oubre, Porter, and Morris as of late is very worrisome. I'm no longer convinced that we're the favorite to face Cleveland in the ECF. Gortat has also been lackluster as of late.
  14. Frustrating that Orlando has given us as much trouble as they have this year, but even wins over inferior opponents still go in the W column. Case in point, Boston losing to Phoenix. Now we're only 2 back of them. I just hope that Porter, Morris, and Oubre can get it together soon.
  15. Not what I'm getting at. The dominant team of last year will reemerge once they adjust to the loss of Durant. But that hasn't happened yet. I'm not saying it wasn't a good win, but it's unclear right now just how good.
  16. True but my point stands: if a win over the Durant-less Warriors had occurred 3 weeks from now, it'd have been a major accomplishment. As it is, the Durant-less Warriors are still getting used to not having him. Despite what I said in an earlier post, I'm not sure how much of an accomplishment it was at this point.
