  1. For a while I thought Smith might be Perkins 2.0 but to his credit, Smith has been playing well lately.
  2. We have a bunch of home games over the next couple of weeks. We'd better take advantage of them and develop some margin for error by March.
  3. Harden may not have even been an AS yet, but the potential was clearly there, and Durant & Westbrooke may not've been MVP caliber yet, but they were AS-starter caliber. But yep you're right, those things aren't really Brooks' fault. However I think he may be at fault for them losing that series to Dallas in 2011.
  4. It's interesting to go back and look at what people were saying about Brooks 2-3 years ago. It was much more negative then. Heck I wasn't positive about him myself. Given that he had 3 players on his roster who are not only AS caliber but MVP candidates now, it did seem legit to not only fault him not only for never winning a title, but only winning the West once. So did Beal get snubbed from the AS lineup? What do you folks think?
  5. One team I'm worried about is Indiana. Look at their home record: it's only half a game worse than ours. We need to be sure to finish ahead of them in the standings: I don't like our chances of stealing a game in Indy, and we may have to win all 4 of our home games to win a 7-game series against them. Btw Toronto is no longer the 3 seed. We may catch them before we catch Atlanta.
  6. We can't be satisfied with anything less than a 7-game winning streak going into the Cleveland game.
  7. Another thing, is this season the best of Brooks' coaching career? Could it be better than any of his years in OKC?
  8. If we end up climbing up to the #2-3 seed, should Brooks be considered for COTY?
  9. Has Morris hit 10 rebounds yet? If he does, and Wall reaches 10 assists, that would be 4 players with double-doubles for us. How often does that happen?
  10. That's awesome that they just played the Mario Starman theme in the arena!
  11. During our 18-7 run we've gone 6-7 on the road, including that loss to Detroit. Let's see if we can go .500 or better the rest of the way.
  12. Brooks is making Ernie look better than he is. If Ernie were decent then we'd actually have the bench needed to have a shot at beating anyone other than GS & SA in a 7-game series. I'm also worried about the minutes that our starters are playing; I hope they aren't worn down come playoff time. Not to mention the increased injury risk. PLEASE STAY HEALTHY BEAL!!!
  13. To follow up on an earlier post of mine, we started 2-8, but it wasn't just that we've turned it around since then: there was an in-between phase over the next 10 games where we went 5-5. We no longer sucked, but we hadn't found our groove yet either, meaning that our pre-groove start wasn't actually 2-8, but rather 7-13. Since then we've gone 18-7, good for .72 which is #1 in the East. Heck, we'd be #3 in the West (yeah yeah our skedool wooda bin difernt out dair, I know...).
  14. Cleveland looks very mortal now, but we still have to prove that we can win on the road. Close wins in Clarlotte & NY, along with a loss in Detroit, haven't yet convinced me that we've fixed our issues there, though Beal coming out of his funk should help.
  15. Course, we have benefitted from a home-heavy schedule to this point. We need to bring up our road winning pct to do that. Which is part of why I'm bummed about that Detroit loss. We really could've used that. The upcoming game @ATL looms large.
  16. Our win pct since that 2-8 start has been 0.657, which if expanded over the whole season to date, puts us ahead of Toronto and behind only Cleveland.
