  1. some fighters have to learn it doesn't make you any less to tap.
  2. Lutter looked pathetic right around the time Rich escaped the armbar. to gas out a minute into the 2nd round is horrible, he had no stand up defense, and his shots were incredibly lazy. Rich did good to finish him. Kaleb Starnes, if he has any fights left on his contract, they will never be televised and he will be cut as soon as possible. i was laughing when i heard the judge scored it 30-24. i knew this fight would be boring and wondered why it made the main card. Quarry deserved a better opponent. Demian Maia in the prelims had one of the best triangles i've seen against Ed Herman. i look forward to seeing him against some of the top fighters @ 185lbs. he is easily one of the best BJJ guys in the UFC right now, same category as Big Nog & BJ Penn. i hope they match him up with Ricardo Almeida next. GSP did what he was supposed to do. he didn't really try to stand and instead chose to work his ground and pound. I would've liked to see GSP stand a little more just to prove he could do it. He's probably has the best "MMA" wrestling ability out there right now, others may have better pedigrees and achievements, but nobody uses wrestling in the cage as well as GSP. Jon Fitch is next, but i don't see him throwing any at GSP he hasn't seen before.
  3. he starts by FINISHING every syllable of every word
  4. cutting weight is essential. it would be impossible to train as hard as the fighters do and stay at fighting weight the entire time. when done correctly, cutting weight and rehydrating gives the fighter the stamina necessary to go 3 to 5 rounds
  5. Grove vs. Tanner is probably a loser is getting released fight. wouldn't be shocked if they had a double knockout  . Grove's chin is equivalent to the cheapest glass known to man. Huerta vs. "I Finish Fights" will be great
  6. A.Silva said in an interview, he didn't fight Lutter's takedowns because he wanted submit Lutter, since Lutter submitted his teammate Pele a while back. i agree about gassing due to cutting weight. Lutter was on TUF and made weight everytime at middleweight. its not like he never had to get to 185 before.
  7. truth be told, i actually want Serra to win again, but i just don't see it happening. i like GSP, but i would love to see the look on all those people there if their boy got beat in front of their faces
  8. Mac Danzig vs. Mark Bocek: Bocek will put up a decent fight, but Danzig gets the sub in the 2nd round Danzig by Submission, 2nd round Michael Bisping vs. Charles McCarthy: McCarthy will gas as this gets out the first round and will be stopped in the 2nd Bisping by TKO, 2nd Round Nate Quarry vs. Kalib Starnes: why is this fight on the main card? Starnes by Unanimous Decision Rich Franklin vs. Travis Lutter: Franklin will try to keep this fight standing, Lutter will do nothing but look for the takedown. a potentially boring fight, hope i'm wrong though. Lutter can take a shot, so i don't think Franklin will KO him standing, and if it goes to the ground, Franklin would be in more trouble than Lutter. Franklin by unanimous decision Matt Serra vs. Georges St. Pierre: Serra will come out look to strike quick, GSP will look for the takedown early i believe. Serra has great BJJ, so GSP will have to be aware of that. i think it will be a good fight, but ultimately GSP wil land something that will stop Serra GSP by TKO, 1st Round
  9. weigh-ins are at 4pm(est) and will carried on several different sport sites. yahoo's stream of the weigh-in's has always worked pretty good for me in the past i'll drop my picks (that are sure to go wrong) after the weigh-ins
  10. his fear started directly after A.Silva beat Nate Marquardt and Rich knew he would have to face him again. here is rich post-A.Silva/Marquardt:laugh: :
  11. i watched it as well and noticed in the 2nd round as they are in the clinch, right before Silva lands a high knee, he said something to Franklin. any ideas of what he said?
  12. my boy Mark Hunt caught an L recently at a K-1 event to Semmy Schilt:mad: : Mark Hunt>>>>Kimbo
  13. UFC 83 Countdown tonight 11pm(est) on Spike
  14. i would root for Kimbo solely to see Dana's post fight reaction
  15. usually when people get knocked out, they go silent, this guy was making all types of unintelligible noises. i remember reading that he had the most severe grade of concussion you could receive after that, but he's doing ok now.
  16. i agree. Davis has alot of power in those hands. Swick seems to be a man without a division he can compete in. he fought at 205 on TUF, tried to fight at 185 but realized he wasn't strong enough, @ 170 i just don't see him beating top flight competition (he won't fight Fitch or Koschekc since they all train out of AKA) he would be a good edition to the WEC's welterweight division though
  17. Kid is definitely a great fighter, i would love to see him fight Faber
  18. Faber's only loss was when he was knocked out by Tyson Griffin. Griffin is strong, but not in terms of punching power. i think Faber would be middle of the pack in the UFC @ 155lbs. He's at the perfect weight for him.
  19. the guys on TUF this year seem to have close to .500 records. haven't heard of many of them except for 2 or 3. that was definitely pre-TUF tommy speer. and the lower weight classes are definitely exciting. WEC has two of the best in Faber @ 145 and Miguel Torres @ 135. Personally Torres is my favorite fighter after Anderson Silva, he has a complete game. Extremely good bjj (brown belt under one of the Gracies), and had a great stand up, uses his 76" reach to his advantage. he should hold that belt for a long time.
  20. i would if i was in MD.................he finishes fights
  21. i still want to see Fedor fight Barnett, it was the match never happened in Pride that should have.
  22. i would rather see Arlovski face Barnett, but i can't at all complain about that card. straight heavyweights, UFC couldn't do something like that with their current heavyweights
  23. that guys face is priceless
  24. i think Fedor wins based on his aggressiveness. god help us if Sylvia wins, the world will not be big enough for his ego. lol
  25. i miss the Pride entrances, they knew how to put on a show. i'm surprised UFC didn't adapt to that when they bought Pride. UFC production is generic and boring
