  1. i think the general consensus for that fight is that BJ either finishes him within the first 3 rounds or Sherk lays on him for decision
  2. World Victory Road: Sengoku II card is tonight around 3am(est). decent card from the looks of it: -Josh Barnett (#4 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Jeff Monson -Jorge Santiago vs. Yuki Sasaki -Satoru Kitaoka vs. Ian Schaffa -Eiji Mitsuoka vs. Kwang Hee Lee -Mike Pyle vs. Dan Hornbuckle -Yoshihiro Nakao vs. Jim York -Kevin Randleman vs. Ryo Kawamura -Roger Gracie vs. Yuki Kondo not sure if they'll be a stream for this or not
  3.   that should be a warning on the first page of the book
  4. i recently got a copy of this book, although i haven't had the time to really start reading it yet. Has anyone else read this, and if so, what do you think of it?
  5. i tend to equate desparation moreso to when a particular move is used. i don't even consider "desparation" to be a bad thing necessarily. in the Diaz example, it was a moment of desparation that he seized upon to win the fight in probably the only way he could given the circumstances of that fight.
  6. i definitely hope Machida wins that fight, but if Tito wins i want to see Dana's reaction to it. i got a feeling it would be classic  almost a reminder of how sad he sounded doing commentary of the first Rampage/Liddell fight in Pride:laugh:
  7. i want to take Jardine in that fight, but i can't forget how he did in the clinch against Houston in the clinch. Silva should win this, if he doesn't, he's goin to have to re-evaluate some things
  8. i would do a sig bet, but i'm taking Penn i got Silva & Machida in the other two big fights if anyone wants to sig bet those
  9. the two don't have to be mutually exclusive. i don't see desparation equating to something illegal. a legal kneebar can still be desparate action by a fighter who was getting his face pounded. mir's kneebar was desparate, but it was also smart and clean.
  10. haven't seen any floating around. if i don't see any soon, i'll make some from the fight once i download it. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=6259&zoneid=2 i realize the HW division is bare right now, but Mir doesn't deserve a title shot after beating Hardonk & Lesnar. he was destroyed by Vera before those 2 fights. in my opinion, the winner of Werdum/Vera deserves a shot before Mir
  11.   i don't see how someone as freakishly strong as Sherk, can have apparently very little power in his strikes
  12. yeah foreign judges reward submission attempts way more than they do in the US. just because you have top position doesn't guarantee you a victory overseas. i like that as well, gets rid of so many lay-n-pray victories Diaz isn't in the tournament, his bout was title eliminator, he should be fighting Mach Sakaurai for his title at an upcoming event. the only thing i don't like about DREAM tourney is that its only 2 rounds. Alvarez/Hellboy match needed a 3rd round.
  13. HDNET is airing the 2nd round of DREAM's Lightweight Grand Prix at 3am(est). pretty good fight card: Lightweight Grand Prix Second Round (16-Man tournament): -Tatsuya Kawajiri (#3 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Luis Buscape -Mitsuhiro Ishida (#5 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Caol Uno -Joachim Hansen (#10 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Eddie Alvarez Non-Tournament Bouts: -Jason Miller vs. Katsuyori Shibata -Nick Diaz vs. Katsuya Inoue -Melvin Manhoef vs. Kim Dae Won -Daisuke Nakamura vs. Bu Kung Jung -Takeshi Yamazaki vs. TBA can't wait to see Hellyboy's fight against Alvarez, those two don't know how to give anything but 100%. should be a stream or two floating around if anyone's going to be up around that time.
  14. thats a good way of putting it. the fights have been good because the fighters are pretty close in terms of overall skill, but as a whole, the quality of fighters in the house just isn't that impressive.
  15. to be honest, this appears to be the worst group of fighter assembled on TUF so far. every fighter is gassing and they're only going 2 rounds. i don't see anyone on the show so far that has a chance of making a dent in the UFC's MW division.
  16. u got something personal against Davis? he's on a nice streak, but i need to see him fight someone in the top 10. he has some dangerous hands, but GSP is in a "tito ortiz" type of mode right now, where he's not standing with anyone, he goes in and immediately goes for the takedown and wins via ground and pound. Davis bjj is good, but not good enough to stop GSP's ground and pound. MW division has a few more faces for title shots than you may think. I don't think he's quite ready yet, but I could Maia being fast tracked. The winner of Almeida/Cote will be on a short list for title shots. Bisping will probably get a shot if he beats Leben and one more fighter. Franklin fought @ 205 for a few fights, not to get after Franklin. he dropped to 185 because UFC wanted him to be the face of that division
  17. Rich Franklin was not winning the standup in the 2nd fight. he got in a couple more shots against Silva, but they didn't do any damage. Silva had a couple of flurries on franklin in the 1st round, and he landed the spinning back kick that landed flush to Rich's gut. Rich looked better in the 2nd fight, but in no way was he winning the stand-up
  18. Machida already beat him. i don't think Franklin will be that successful at 205. Franklin's main attribute at 185 was that he was physically bigger than almost everyone he faced. at 205 he loses that advantage. he's a well-rounded fighter, but beating any big names at 205 to be honest.
  19. alligator i believe. he's does some training with Extreme Couture. he's already one of the two or three best bjj in the world, so if he rounds out his game, he could be a force
  20. Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, his match at Dream 2
  21. reason #25920380530 Bas Rutten is a legend
  22. i didn't think Aoki would win, but i'm glad he did. he's one of my favorite fighters out there. gotta respect any fighter brave enough to rock the rainbow-tights also Dennis Kang lost via triangle choke. this dude was once considered a threat to Anderson Silva, hope he gets back on track soon, because he's an exciting fighter.
