  1. This team's D has really stiffened up. I know we're still giving up a lot of points per game, but I think we're doing much better defensively than the stats may indicate.
  2. Clippers are rapidly becoming my second most hated team to the Heat. It's disgusting the calls they get. Absolutely one-sided every game I watch. This is probably colored by the fact that I think Blake is the most overhyped player in the league.
  3. He's no Lin Good game from the team. Only negative was how surprised they looked at the full court pressure. Granted it's not something they've dealt with routinely, but hot shooting bailed them out after some ugly turnovers.
  4. It's not about finding a viable replacement for McGee, it's about not over spending for someone who may not be able to contribute on a winning team. I like Javale, he's no Blatche. If he put more time into studying the game I'd give him the contract that he wants, but right now I think it would be silly for the Wiz to match whatever ridiculous offer he's bound to get. Nice game from Wall tonight. Took over at the right time, even his turnovers I've found bearable because he was trying to thread the needle.
  5. Wall to Vesely PNR is working well so far. Like seeing John's anticipation on those passes.
  6. God help us if we give McGee a contract. Someone is going to overpay for him, I just hope it's another bad franchise like Golden State or something.
  7. I feel bad for any NBA fan that had to witness that 4th quarter and OT. Absolutely awful display of basketball and refereeing. Literally didn't go 30s without a foul.
  8. Current state of the Wizards trying to be as unbiased as possible: Wall = good, maybe great McGee = Marcus Camby but with absolutely no brain. Will never be a starter for a contending team Young = good 6th man and could start if surrounded by veteran, smart players Booker = Hustle/bench guy, nothing more. Might be able to spot start due to athleticism Singleton = Can shoot but cannot dribble or create his own shot. If he can do this he could be a starter fairly easily. Vesely = meh, I can't see anyone making a convincing argument to me that he will do anything but bust. Seraphin = good backup big, actually like him much more than McGee as a complete player. Would like to see him get some starts. Mack = good backup PG and can spot start. My favorite draft pick from last year by far. Crawford = Low IQ 6th man, wouldn't ever start for a serious contender
  9. If we don't get the top pick for Davis (who, honestly, I'm not that enamored with just yet), I really hope we don't make the mistake of taking Barnes. Robinson is an easy #2 on my list right now. Go after Gordon, draft Robinson or Davis and you have a pretty solid base.
  10. Since we're pretty much guaranteed to take a big man in the draft I hope EG is fielding offers for Javale. He is utterly clueless all over the court. I don't know what's worse with John right now, watching him rush into 3 defenders hoping for a foul or watching him attempt to play off the ball. Really atrocious game. The idea that we're going to build a team around Wall and Javale really, really depresses me.
  11. Grunfeld will likely get the rest of the season then he's gone too.
  12. Javale McGee is one of the worst defensive bigs in the game, I don't care what the blocks say. He is absolutely horrendous, particularly in zone.
  13. Jesus, Blatche has been awful. Why is Singleton not back in and why did Nick sit so long? I won't question Flip since the team looks pretty good, but I find both of those moves odd.
  14. Triple double incoming for Wall tonight. This lineup is great, we look like a real NBA team right now. Singleton is really solid, so much better than Lewis and Blatche, no offense to Booker, really stabilizes things.
  15. John Wall played smart today and it made all the difference in the world. Gotta hope he keeps it up.
  16. Yeah, they do. Javale has made a few strides, that's fine, but he's too dumb of a player and I see no signs of that changing.I highly, highly doubt you'll find anyone who isn't a Wizards fan agreeing with you that Javale is a top-3 center in the East. Yeah, you can cite statistics like blocks, etc. That's all well and good, except when you consider how many points he gives up because of his willingness to (still) sell out for virtually every block. There are many centers in the East right now I'd take over McGee without batting an eye and I hope EG doesn't break the bank on him, because I promise, like Nick Young this past off season, he won't have very many suitors.
  17. Yep, just saw that too haha.He looks like a young Amare to me. Powerful player but also has the range to hit a 15 foot jumper. Would be perfect on this team, IMO.
  18. Indeed. He has a really complete game. It's tough to say that about most of the other lottery picks right now. He's going to be really good.
  19. Chandler and Noah in your top 5? Eh, we must looking for different things in a center. At this point I'd take McGee over both of them. Agreed about Monroe, need more time to evaluate, but I believe he's going to be a multiple time all star in short order. Perhaps I am overrating him currently. We'll agree to disagree regarding Lopez. I know he doesn't rebound well at all, but I still have him as one of the best centers in the East when he's healthy
  20. Top 3 center in the East? Howard Bogut Lopez Monroe Bargnani Everyone there is demonstrably better than McGee at this stage, IMO and I'd take all of them but Bargnani over McGee in a heart beat. McGee, IMO, is in the next group with Hibbert and Horford. Until he fixes his efficiency issues I don't see that changing. I like the kid and think he could get in that elite group, but he does very few things conducive to winning consistently.
  21. Oh, I agree. He's been by far our best player and his offense and defense is massively improved. That said, none of those teams besides Atlanta have anything resembling a strong front court. Until he gets stronger he's going to struggle against Orlando, Milwaukee, Minnesota, etc.
  22. Wall going for the quadruple double  McGee looks good against teams with weak front courts. Nice to see him playing a bit smarter at least.
  23. On this current team? Yes, I'm dead serious. EG has built maybe the most offensively challenged team every to set foot on an NBA court. Blatche, for all his faults (and yes, there are plenty) can at least get his own shot. I would take Blatche taking a 15 foot jumper over 90% of our roster. Probably over everyone but Nick Young, actually. Would I still trade him first chance I get? Of course. But his value is so low because EG is clueless there is no chance we can get anything at all back for him.
  24. Wall is really bad so far this season, Doesn't have much to work with, but still. I can't believe how awful his handles are. Blatche makes this team better. I'd be fine trading him, but he's far better than anyone on here gives him credit for. Anyone comparing him to Haynesworth is a straight up hater.
