  1. Crawford and Young are completely different players. Yeah, they are both volume shooters, but Crawford you can deal with because he contributes elsewhere and actually takes the ball to the basket. There is almost no comparison between them as players. Sports talk radio is generally awful.
  2. Kevin is making the most of Howard's absence. That hook is money with either hand.
  3. I've seen pickup games with better fundamentals, lolAs bad as the Wiz are, the Bobcats should be contracted. They are flat out terrible.
  4. Can't stand Blake, actually glad we didn't win that lottery. His game is tremendously overrated and he is a grade A *****. Cousins is 100% right.
  5. I think they've both been ruled out for tonight already. Intentionally not playing to tank? Nah, but they certainly aren't rushing them back just so they can re-injure themselves, especially something as finicky as plantar fasciitis.
  6. Agreed. Barring something ridiculous happening I think we're going to draft ANOTHER wing player. As much as I love Thomas Robinson, and wouldn't scoff at drafting him, it looks like both Booker and Seraphin can man the 4 fairly respectably with our biggest deficiency being at the 3.I'd personally go with MKG if the draft were right now, but that might mean another year of being pretty bad since he's not quite a finished product.
  7. I think if this team was jockeying for playoff positioning, Nene would be playing. We've already seen what he can do when he's even 80%. Don't forget about how well Kevin is playing on both ends. If Nene went down with another knee injury or something I'd agree with you, but this is just a reason to keep him out of the lineup.
  8. I care way less about Wall's shot than his complete innability to run the half court offense. Look at Rondo, look at how he keeps his dribble alive, how he forces his defender into a pick. I see absolutely none of that from Wall. You don't need an elite shot to be elite, especially not with Wall's athletic ability. That's what's concerning me most.
  9. If Cook keeps up this sort of play? Or even slightly below it? No way.Second unit in playing smart. John better be taking notes.
  10. Another unimpressive start for John. Just looks completely out of sorts. Defense has been horrific as well.
  11. You've got to be smoking the same stuff Beasley smokes to compare him to Sullinger.
  12. Nah that was pretty good timing! Great win. I'm all for the tank but you need to win a few here and there, especially since how hard we've been playing lately. Most impressive is we're doing this with Wall struggling on offense (but dominating on D). Love it. Hope Nene and Book are okay.
  13. This is the best defense I think I've ever seen the Wizards play. The rotation is phenomenal. Virtually every shot is challenged.
  14. I'll be the first to admit I liked the Mack pick, thought he'd be the ideal backup guard. So far it looks like I was wrong. Just has no quickness whatsoever.
  15. I'd put money on us blowing the lead. The Sixers are a good team. That said this has been another impressive performance against a playoff team. Really liking the way the team has already gelled defensively. The length EG put together, much as I rag on him, has really stood out recently.
  16. What do you expect them to say? It's Ted's job to sell his product. He said good things about Flip just weeks before he was fired. It was done to improve the team, and in my opinion we're already seeing the benefits of it over the 10 games we've played. It's just not likely to have a significant impact on our overall record until the team learns how to play with a legitimate center in the half court set (either Nene or Seraphin, to be honest). It was done because neither played had a future on this team and EG opted to get something for them rather than nothing. It's that simple.Nene's value goes beyond his on court production. His charisma, intelligence and leadership should be crucial going forward. It's completely irrelevant to me if McGee or Young go on to have great NBA careers. McGee will likely continue to put up the same numbers and flashy plays in Denver, but I wouldn't put money on him learning to play the game properly.
  17. They're actually 2-8, basically in line with how they've been the entire season. The trade isn't going to suddenly put them in playoff contention. You won't find anyone here claiming that (you'll still believe it, though). Furthermore, as I posted last night, that stretch of games came with 2 back to backs as well as a back-to-back-to-back stretch of games AND against 5 playoff teams. We were competitive in all but 2 games. I really don't understand what you're even arguing. The point of the trade wasn't to make us better in the short term, it was addition by subtraction that also netted us a very good center. Moral victory or not this is a bad team and no single trade can change that. Too bad Ernie didn't realize you can't win with a core of dumb players sooner.
  18. Way to completely ignore the rest of the post.Your posts are so tired and completely not representative of what's going on with the team. You never even argue peoples points. Instead you rely on platitudes that, as far as I can tell, rarely apply to anyone on the board.
  19. Ernie needs to be fired for the simple fact that he foolhardily thought you can build a team based on athletic ability potential and not brains. He seems to have finally understood that based on the past 2 drafts and trades, but too little too late. You call it scapegoating, I call it a much needed cleansing. Where did I say anything about +/-? You're right, it's an awful stat. I'm talking about on/off differential, which goes to your ridiculous point that somehow McGee has been victimized by his teammates. The team played significantly better (4th worst rating in the entire league) when he wasn't on the court. You post on here like you have some crystal ball.
  20. Yeah, because he was so wrong about those moves Gilbert finally gets off his couch this week and EJ is still coaching high school ball, right? Javale and his bottom 5 on/off differential combined with his hilariously boneheaded plays did a fine job of killing his own value. He'll be a solid contributor on an up tempo team that plays 0 defense where he is the 4th option. That wasn't going to be the Wizards and certainly isn't worth the 14 mil he wants. Before you accuse me of being an Ernie apologist, I'd love to see him fired. But saying he's scapegoating these boneheads is so out of touch with the reality of the situation it's amazing.
  21. Are people watching the same team as I am? Yeah, we may not have won more games that we average on the year since the trade, but we're playing appreciatively better basketball. 5/8 teams we've played are playoff teams AND we've played 2 back to backs as well as a BACK TO BACK TO BACK stretch of games. All but two of which were competitive games. Far be it to me to be an apologist for this team, but Christ. Yeah, they're not that talented. I said that the trade likely won't have a huge impact on our win/loss this season, but if you can't see we're playing a better brand of basketball in a ridiculous 10 day schedule than I don't know what to say.
