Jay is an idiot, I don't care what nice things he might say about Maye. I basically ignore him when he talks about QBs, regardless of who it is. Colt is better, but still hit or miss. I do like listening to him more than Jay because he's better at breaking down tape and explaining what's going on. Jay just sounds like a goober.

A middle of the road starter for a #1 overall pick is a bust IMO. If you pick a guy in the top 3 you're banking on a star, not a so-so starter. So while most of those guys may still be in the league in one form or another in a few years, none of them besides Burrow are stars or even franchise QBs. You could maybe make the case for Murray but he's only had one really good season and everything else was derailed by injuries. So if we pick Daniels or Maye at #2 and in 3-4 years they're maybe a top 15-20 starter, then that's a bust and hopefully we'll jettison them before having to pay big bucks for a middling QB.

Not surprising. Most college QBs (especially younger ones) will need to work on their footwork at least a bit. Especially if they're coming from a less "NFL style" offense. If footwork couldn't be improved with coaching we'd see a hell of a lot more busts than we do. Footwork and mechanics were concerns with Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert as well. This is why that footwork/mechanics red flag for Maye doesn't scare me as much as some of the red flags on Daniels.

Eh, out of all those guys the only one who has lived up to his draft status is Burrow. Mayfield, Murray, and Tua were all very high picks and are pretty much mediocre now. Not total busts, but definitely didn't live up to where they were drafted IMO. Mac Jones was also a pretty high 1st round pick and is now a backup who was traded for a 6th round pick.

He doesn't think it's crazy and isn't pretending it didn't happen. He's simply downplaying it some, even though IIRC he was actually one of the people who brought attention to it, so who knows what his play is here. You going to respond to any of my other points? Do you think ****ing about their interview process is the best way to secure your client a spot with a certain team?
-
All you're basically doing is gaslighting here and pretending like nothing happened and that anyone who thinks anything of it is crazy. But you then go on to admit that yeah he probably didn't like the process but you hand wave that away as the process itself being silly, even though many NFL teams have admitted to doing that sort of thing in the past, including Bill B. And of COURSE people on Twitter who are NFL scout types or analysts are going to know who he is. The effing immediately recognized him and brought attention to it, for god's sake. Oh and you're also going back to the old "all publicity is good publicity" well it seems, when this sort of thing could potentially cost his client millions of dollars. If he wanted his client to be drafted #2 ****ing about the interview process with the team holding that pick is a really odd way to go about it.

I still find it hard to completely ignore the twitter stuff and crap from his agent. True, it wasn't Daniels speaking, but shouldn't he be in some control over what his agent says and the messaging? If he's not in control, who is? It just sort of feels like a weird cop out for a grown man to simply be absolved of anything that someone who works for him does or says. And if his agent is such a moron and went totally rogue I'd probably fire his ass if he made me look bad like that. Or at the very least give some sort of clarification. Instead some other agent from the same agency came out for damage control duty. It sort of feels like Daniels either doesn't disagree with his agent or he's not really the one fully in control of the situation. Or, again, his agent legit went 100% rogue which should be a fireable offense. And yeah you can say I'm looking into it too much or overreacting. But there have been too many prospects in the past where people ignored small "insignificant" warning signs and ended up paying for it later.

Ok I want to ask a question / make a potential observation. But of course I want to be mindful of the rules so in no way is this meant to be any sort of North/South political statement. But I have to wonder if some of the "slow processing" knocks that I've seen on Maye in some analyses are less indicative of what's actually on his film and possibly more indicative of some bias against the whole "down south good ole boy aw shucks bumpkin" vibe that he can give off. If this is too close to politics I'll delete.

JJ McCarthy is what would happen if you took Favre's arm, Brady's decision making, Peyton's brain, and Brees's accuracy and put them all into one QB. ....and then completely ignored that QB and drafted some other guy because he won a championship on an insanely stacked team. For the record I don't actually dislike McCarthy (though I wouldn't take him at 2), I'm just trolling his fans.
